    Great video! Thank you so much for doing these! You have been a wealth of information!

    Great video! A couple of short cuts I use is #1 put small dabs of super glue on the O rings to hold them in place and #2 put a tie wrap around the impeller to hold the fins bent in the proper direction and the cup easily goes down, cut the tie wrap and remove. I also purchased a split bearing puller to help remove the compression ring that you cut off. I beleive in working "smarter not harder".

      @warpath6717 Před 8 měsíci

      The super glue won't eat through the gasket? I love the zip tie trick for the impeller. We change impellers as a club so there's a lot of extra hands usually, but that's a great idea for doing it alone.

    • @rolandwillis892
      @rolandwillis892 Před 8 měsíci

      I've never had a problem using superglue sparringly, just a little in the bottom of the O ring groove. I usually work alone. I've also been trained and experienced in Analytical troubleshooting and root cause analysis.@@warpath6717

    Once again one of your videos was extremely helpful for me. I saved myself quite a bit of money replacing the water pump on my Yami VMAX 250 I have. Honestly I found the replacement to be a lot easier than I thought. Once again thank you.

    Great vid. The stainless ring can be pried up incrementally with a flat screw driver. It will slide up and over the shaft easily.

  • @fulviogianola3435
    @fulviogianola3435 Před 5 lety +4

    One other point to mention is that the shaft should be pulled upwards (and held) while pressing the metal cap into its locking position - this procedure is required to reduce the play of the pinion on the drive gears.

    You gave me the confidence to do this. I'm like you I don't have all the correct tools. I destroyed my nylon washer and metal ring as well. I found a 15/16 open end wrench worked perfect to hit on to knock it back in place.

    • @thebasshunter
      @thebasshunter  Před 6 lety +1

      That is the only way you will learn. By doing it yourself. If you mess it up after you tried to fix it. Then you take it to the shop and let them fix it then. Good luck.

      You should have seen that wear plate. I won't mention any names where I took it but it looked like it had been ran over on I-285 and reused. We have time same rig and close to the same color. Mine is '05. I think we aren't too far away from each other I'm on the west side of Atlanta maybe I'll run into ya or we can prefish or something together. I do bass clubs as well.

      The BassHunter I did a couple of those years ago as a non boater when it was red man. I love Lanier and I do pretty well there but I've just been doing buddy tournaments. My buddy that works up that way said 6 mile was real muddy. The lake is almost full. I haven't seen 6 mile muddy in years. I try to go up there a good bit during the week from March till June. Our first club tournament is in a couple of weeks at Bartletts ferry. My kids are out for winter breaks next week I think we are going to take a long weekend to eufaula this weekend. I hope it's not blown up too bad.

  • @fulviogianola3435
    @fulviogianola3435 Před 5 lety +3

    There was absolutely no need to cut the metal bushing as it can be pried off without too much effort and without the aid of any specialized tool; all those components are re-usable when putting them back together. Same criteria applies to the woodruff key unless it was severely distorted on removal.

    I had to order a new plastic housing for my 250 hpdi 2 stroke. when it came it did not come eith the black spacer that sits on top of the water pump. Side by side without it it about 3/16 shorter without it on it.

    • @thebasshunter
      @thebasshunter  Před 2 lety

      Hopefully they send you the right pump? I always order the kit that has all the gasket, o-rings that you need. I can’t remember the spacer you are talking about but if it came out the water pump. It needs to go back on the water pump. I would contact the people you bought it from and ask they where is that spacer?
