Everyone sleeping on Newcastle
Can they do it on a cold Tuesday night in Burnley?
Even last season
Not really... The smart ones know that they wont do much with eddie howe. He will only take them so far. Now they need a continental manager to take them up a notch.

One to Watch?! His last competitive game before yesterday was the champions league final.. hardly an up-and-comer!
It’s just blatant cheating tho completely defeats the idea of competition
I’m a City fan and I think it’s absurd to count NewCastle out of the top 4 especially after seeing how well they finished last season and how well they started. If they keep this up, they’re gonna give a lot of teams problems and I’m a little nervous about playing them this coming weekend after the Super Cup
I think New Castle are on the right track, but they made top 4 last year with Liverpool Chelsea struggling and those two along with United have become a lot better, plus your adding UCL to the mix which usually takes a toll on the players as there is an extra game each week. I can see them missing out on top 4 but I think it depends on those 3 teams if 2/3 struggle a little or have a bad run then they make it but we will see
They did score 5 on Saturday, which was there Achilles heal last season, I agree they deserve more respect.
I don't see how Liverpool and Man Utd have got better. Chelsea, yes there's clear improvement. But Liverpool's system and identity is all over the place and they've an even smaller squad than last year, and less experience, having sold Henderson, Fabinho, Milner, Fermino, Ox, Keita and the young Brazilian lad is on loan.
United look no better, looked shocking tonight against a team with a new manager only appointed last week and I'd be worried about Casemiro and Erkison's legs in midfield and ability to play another full season. Their signings seem...decent? Keeper looks a bit of a loose cannon. They're selling Maguire and already sold Fred so they're losing depth too and not replacing them. Newcastle top 4 comfortably in my opinion. They've kept all their squad together as far as I know and added quality.
@@Adelocity I think that’s a fair assessment. If what we’ve seen so far this season (1 game) is anything to go on for how the season will unfold (doubtful), then they should slide in. LFC fans should be worried especially since no Lavia and window closing soon. Chelsea ran through them but just didn’t have anyone to score and while Chelsea experienced the same problem, that issued has been resolved. MU looked dreadful tonight. Wolves 23 shots at goal at OT was like a 15 or 20yr high. They need to get in gear as well. Gonna be interesting and tbf, City need at least 1-2 players being light with Gundo and Mahrez departures and throw in KDB out for upwards of 2 months, we have a huge creativity & goals gap that needs to be addressed.
@@silverheart7964 Great points. Now that LFC main CDM targets have gone to Chelsea, they need to find someone and quick before window closes otherwise they’re gonna leak goals as easily as they should, on paper at least, be scoring them with their front 5.
MU looked atrocious tonight and didn’t deserve to win that game. Maybe draw but I’m leaning more towards Wolves given 23 shots at goal and absolutely bullied MU fwds and midfield.
Chelsea and Spurs not having European games to contend with this season could be massive for their league campaign
Agree.
Chelsea perhaps, Spurs, no
Genuine question, where do you think spurs will get the goals from? Surely not richarlison!!

Isak is a beast, best forward in the PL except for maybe Haaland. But then again Haaland for all his goal scoring ability does very little else on the pitch. Isak is quality all round.
Would isak score more if he was in the city team rather than haaland and haaland at Newcastle
@gullycheung5174 haaland would still score more probably. This aint a knock to isak as he is amazing I can see him with a 20+ goal season but haaland scores all the time and there's no finals in the prem so he cant ghost
Couldn’t score any against 10 men, I’ll say 8 maybe 9
To be honest Newcastle are the most explosive and entertaining team ive seen in a long time. They will contend this year. Their omission is strange.

last season they were good, nothing special. let’s see how they do vs city on saturday
You have to bear in mind that Scousers and Mancs feel a deep resentment towards Newcastle because it puts their self-image as ‘Northerners’ in perspective. They resent how far north Newcastle is compared to their respective cities.
@@user-againhello they were by far a special team, they played with big scorelines with fast attacking football with many players who people did not expect to do so well. Only City and Arsenal were more exciting, Man U were lucky with many tight scorelines but Newcastle spent far less
If it was the newcastle team of this year transported back in time 1 year I would absolute agree but I feel that the extra games they have this year might take its toll

Indeed
The funny thing is that I feel that Spurs will actually be unshackled by Kane's departure. For better or for worse, the club had been unable to sign a proper understudy to him, with many upcoming talent (probably and rightfully) reluctant to send their brightest years playing second fiddle to a leading striker who is the nation's darling.
Kane's departure leaves a power vacuum that I can see many people salivating to fill - Son, Richarlison, someone new, etc. With Maddison's arrival finally filling that Eriksen shaped hole, it could be the spark for a wild season.
For the predictions, I am predicting Man City / Arsenal to duke it out for the title, with Newcastle in third - they actually have pretty good depth and tangible upward momentum that not many clubs have. Spurs and Liverpool for 4-5, in no particular order. Villa in 6th, because they, unlike Brighton, didn't lose key players and made good signings (on paper).
My relegation picks are Bournemouth, Sheffield United, and West Ham. West Ham, in particular, are giving me Leicester vibes. They did at least sign Alvarez from Ajax, which could save them from relegation.

Considering all these factors I can see Newcastle challenging for the title. Newcastle need a result on Saturday against City a City without KDB for four months and if they do get a result! Game on!
Be interesting to see how City are this season. City lost Kompany in the summer 2019 & centre backs to injury. Not to mention a drop off after 2 in a row & not replacing Kompany when he left. So they have had a drop off before. Wouldn't surprise me if there was a drop off. However, the difference is bar Arsenal (and they're a maybe on that) there isn't anyone who could capitalise like Liverpool in 19/20. We could still see city win the league but on a points tally lower than 85 for instance. City need to make another signing or 2.
I am Italian and I have seen the Newcastle match last days .....I think they have a good team with a group of midfields of quality I think they arrive in a second position they need another new player for winning the premier ....chiesa
Karen adds very little to the show, please move her on.
Not a Newcastle supporter but I think they'll do better than what those 3 have predicted and tonali will surprise a few people too, carra is a total fraud as usual
Carra's kind of biased but he's a better pundit than Neville
This is the real quiz 😂
those shoes are criminal
You know after the Gameweek 1, everyone dreamed Newcastle United to "do a Leicester".
Winning the Premier League and played better in the Champions League is an impossible achievements.
As for English clubs in the Champions League this season, it will be an all-English Final again.
Like it was last year right? Or the year before? Wait a minute 🤔
"Doing a Leicester" hahahahahahaha how can you compare what Newcastle is doing to that Leicester season - they've thrown money around and have the richest owners in the world. That Leicester team cost less than Tonali.
@@rkid4734 It can be happening. Remember: 2024 is 20 years since the year when the underdogs ruled the football world.
@@ezraezra2928 Leicester were almost relegated in their first season, then went on to win the Premier League with little investment the next. You just can't compare that with Newcastle, next you'll be saying Man City is an underdog story.
Top 4 is going to be so contested the season. City, United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, New Castle and maybe even Spurs or Brighton could all be in the fight
5th place will qualify for CL this season. So Top 5
United didn’t look too well against Wolves and Liverpool just aren’t there yet as they don’t have a proper CDM or LB, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Arsenal, City, Newcastle and Chelsea top 4 (no particular order)
@@DanityTVreactionary at its finest
@@DanityTVLiverpool will sign someone for sure
Spurs? Not unless they have a magic wand
Gary: "You're predicting things that you don't know are going to happen" that sums up Arsenal winning the league and Aston Villa finishing 6th.
Why on earth would you add Karen carney to this, abysmal decision
“this is the real quiz” - brent 02 // carra 23 🤣🤣🤣
time stamp?
@AM2K2 Just take the time out your day and watch an 18 minute clip. It's not difficult
Gary Neville is saying Man City won't win it more in hope than anything imo
Pep started managing in 2008, that is he's being in management for atleast 15years now
“They’re not competing for the same signings as Chelsea and Liverpool” Yes because Newcastle aren’t dumb enough to pay 100 million for Caicedo.
No yet a better player in tonali for half price lol
Cause no player is choosing Newcastle over Chelsea, they get the players teams like chelsea dont go in for
Was Karen a winger?
carney is the Alan partridge of sky football
She's just there to tick a box.
City had a bit of a lull partially due to about 75% of their squad in the World Cup last year, and each player was integral for their respective countries, playing a lot of games. Arsenal, not as much.
City also has depth, Arsenal a bit more now, United a bit more now, Chelsea a bit more now. Spurs, Liverpool, Newcastle... if VVD, Guimaraes, or Son get injured, each respectively will drop from 4th to 9th, just like Liverpool did last year with their injuries. They still have 3 weeks but good teams play a lot of games, and rotate the starting 11. You can't have the same 11 all season, and I don't see some teams getting away with that right now.
