Adams has zero fucking ball knowledge he lets his emotions get the best of him, United’s backline depth is woeful. there starting LB is there LCB depth who plays half a season every other year & the other CB depth is Lindelof who they all would’ve been happy if he left at the start of last season now all of sudden a 3rd place & Lindelof can suffice as depth 😂 United have one of the most overrated squads in the league, you really think Rashford will carry that attack again this season? Another player United fans wouldn’t have minded if he had left at the start of last season, United fans need to be real with themselves for once, 58 goals last season & Rashford massively overproduced, it’s cause United fans have so much faith that Sancho & Antony will finally produce, what have they shown to give you proof that they will finally produce a respectable tally next season, United fans are just living on hope yet there trying to tell us they will finish above everyone bar City 🤣 not even they believe that 😂 there reasoning to believe that is everyone over exceeded expectations in there mind, no points about how there squad in comparison to others is superior,l cause they know it just isn’t, just off the basis of a hunch 😂 United fans 🤣

That is exactly me yesterday when spurs vs barca. Spurs played brilliantly for like 60 minutes and then bottled it to la masia players. I was like "spurs is so good no way they gonna miss europe". And then last 10 minutes, "that is why they will miss europe".

That spurs squad was basically ange looking at the B and C team and seeing who has the ability to work in his system in the real games. literally all of the star forwards and midfielders were off aside from bissouma. They also didn't play their new CB Van de ven where they're building a more respectable defensive line.

Its utter stupidity to say this , when fact is Spurs B team outplayed Barca A team at their ground and only lost out because B team got replaced with C players in final 10 minutes. That’s what they’re going to do. If you realise they’re going to do what City does and give players more rest, to prevent injury history.
They’ll start the season with their strongest XI, then they’ll pick the likes of Vieira, Smith-Rowe, Tierney, Kiwior, Trossard etc to start and mix and match the team.

I guess in Adam’s eyes, everyone improved except Arsenal.
Like a lot of other people (mostly hopeful United fans) he seems wedded to the idea that Arsenal had a "Leicester" season where they have a handful of standout players but the rest of the squad is largely average and they just managed to all raise their level for that one season. So this season will be a return to "normality" where those players who raised their level will go back to not actually being that great.

No one was saying this time last year "Arsenal should be expecting to challenge for the league" & even if some ppl were then everyone else would've called those minority few delusional or "hopeful".
Similar to Newcastle, they did fantastic but they definitely overperformed last season.
Edit: Man Utd in 2017/18 ALSO overperformed and it showed the following season. Maybe Arsenal won't finish 6th now but they will drop off whether it's by placement or points total. At best, they stagnate within 5pts of their last season total.

@@browniebearlol they did overperform yes, but they overperformed because the younger plays got better earlier than the timeline envisioned. They’ve signed great players since so if anything they’re better than last year window wise and also their players are a year older and wiser. I wouldn’t be so quick to say they’ll drop off. Every team that has a bad season always says if we were good things would’ve different - it’s such a weak excuse.
Plus 5 points off means they’ll still comfortably finish in 2nd… they were 9 points ahead of 3rd.

Gerrard was brought there to stop 10 in a row and he did that and rangers have not won the league since. Plus rangers had a lot of catching up to do with Celtic at the time he was appointed.

And they won nothing but the Scottish cup the whole time Ange was there. This is a rangers team that at the same time Ange was there, went to a European final.
Celtic were already dominant, you out Gerrard in that role they win the same amount of trophies. Ange’s a good manager but he did what everyone else would.

Arsenal have changed Xhaka, Vieria and Holding with Rice, Timber and Havertz, that is massive upgrade + most of their star performers from 22/23 are young so naturally should improve.

Rory and the other man’s perception on spurs is the prime example of why you should follow pre season games of different clubs as well just to get an idea of their style of play. ITS ABSOLUTELY BONKERS that the other guy doesn’t even wanna consider ANGE’s style of play impressive WHICH IT ACTUALLY IS. It’s absolutely a stellar to watch and even the PL manager of every year (PEP GUARDIOLA) said that he’s an incredible manager who can be one of the best managers in the future. It actually shows a lot about their ball knowledge. Like isn’t Rory the guy who said last season that haaland won’t be successful in the PL and won’t score more than 15 goals.

If Arsenal under Arteta, can go from 8th, 8th, 5th to 2nd(Almost winning the League), it is not a shock to consider Man United(under ETH) to go from 3rd(without a striker and tons of drama and injuries) to 2nd(no drama, less deadwood and better squad depth in key positions). It will be difficult because of the transition that you mentioned, but it wouldn't be a No Sense situation.

@@stephenbailey3309 and what's the top 10? Outside of City, Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs, and Newcastle, there are no consistent "top ten" teams. That leaves an extra 3 slots where you can abitrarily place any team you wish over the past 5 years that suits your narrative, such as Villa. Not to mention that it goes without saying that teams like Villa will need to spend more, as they need to raise the profile of the squad.
If we are going off last season, obviously Fulham and Brentford haven't spent more than them. Season before that, Wolves and West Ham (whose net spends were both significantly less than Liverpool). Season before that Everton and Leeds. Obviously we can go on.
5 years is such a random cutoff, and you've given absolutely no indication as to why you chose it. Likely because Liverpools average in the last 5 is drastically brought down by an outlier season in 2020/21 where they spent £10m. There are few teams in the league over the last 10 who have spent more.
Also, your "research" is dogshit anyway, because a simple search shows that Brighton have spent £253.59m in the past 5 years, where Liverpool have spent £371.80m.

Now we have important backups, I'd put Arteta and Arsenal in first place if we can sort out a backup for Saka.

Don't understand Adam defending Ten Hags spending in 2 years compared to Arteta's 3. Ten Hag arrived at a club that had already spent a billion on its squad when he arrived at Old Trafford. Arteta has had to change Arsenal from top to bottom from what it was and has got Arsenal in a title challenge before Ten Hag has.

Ten Haag inherited one of if not the worst United squad in it's history. He brought them from 6th to 3rd. They technically were at one point in the season looking like title contenders (Early March albeit) He won silverware and nearly won them two trophies. If it was Mourinho they would be lauding him for the Mourinho effect. The amount of games United played last year and not having a huge drop off with games played and injuries is testament to his work.

@@GrownAdultI rate Ten Hag more than Arteta, but I rate the squads they inherited differently. Ten Hag inherited an abysmal side but yes all players he had would have easily replaced the Arsenal side Arteta got. If you look at both first seasons Arteta also won a trophy by beating Pep's City side. But yeah, credit to what Ten Hag has done ove the past year. I think Man Utd will perform solidly, but I don't think they'll challenge for the title just cause I don't think Hojlund is a finished product.
I think a lot of teams will improve this season....but for Adam to say arsenal will drop is beyond me. Granted they do have to deal with the pressure of expectation this season, but we have also brought in players to add more cover and add competion to the squad..even in the GK department. Im not going to say we will win the league, but to rule us out of another title charge i think is unfair. The 2 biggest factors is the pressure and how the team respond to it. Second is how long it takes for our new signings to fully adjust to the season and if they perform consistently at their best + improve independently.

Marco Silva didn't leave Watford quickly for Everton, we went for him in January and were made to wait till the end of the season so it was 6 months after the approach. Mentally he is very much accused of checking out at Watford once our approach arrived, that might be true but only Marco would ever truly know that if so.

Feel this season will be so open. Everyone in top 10 is seemingly trying to push more than any other previous season. Man City are the only team guaranteed to win something, everyone else is willing and capable of winning something. Could be a complete shift around this season, I wouldnt be surprised by a 15/16 type season.
As an Arsenal fan I hate to do this but I think spurs have a good season, even losing Kane.
They have real balance now Madison gives them the quality inside to match what they have on the wings, udogie cleans up that left back position. If their GK is decent they have a strong, well balanced effective first 11. Need very few injuries
