Fun fact: 'fire cooking' or Flambé is when you use alcohol and then tilt the pan so the fumes from the alcohol catch fire to help burn off the rest of the alcohol. That's why you'll see fancy dishes with 'wine reductions' as the sauce on the plate. It actually adds a nice depth of flavor if you know how to do it, but you can also just be safe and boil the alcohol off, but Flambé is the quicker way lol

Don't worry, your pronounciation of " Ratatouille " is perfect ans it's a french who says that.
About the " peasant dish " the restaurant is gastronomic so it's not the type of dish we can find normally in this type of restaurants.
Personally, I think Colette is a good representation of how it's difficult for women to be accepted in some jobs who are " normally " for men, without a lot of temper.
Her french voice actress is the singer of the song you can hear during the movie.
By the way, did you notice Folamour of " The Incredibles " ? He's the mime in the scene where Linguini and Colette do roller skate

4:39 If you plant it yes (easier to buy the full plant (or cutting as I think it's called), tickle the roots out and plant it in the garden rather than grow it from seed though). Tip though, if you're going to try growing your own rosemary, buy more than one bunch of it, buy 2 or 3 and wait for a few weeks (maybe even a month or two) so that it has time to properly grow (even though it means you have to buy rosemary while eating which makes you feel like you're defeating the purpose of buying it in the first place) before you pick it off, and after taken some (ok a large amount) rosemary off wait for a bit so it has time to regrow so it won't die and take stuff from one of the other branches instead. Wait long enough and repeat that caution throughout the years and it'll grow big enough so that you won't have to consider buying it ever again. Also, like thyme and oregano, rosemary prefers a dry soil so only water it every second or third day.

Unsure if anyone else covered this, but flambé (setting fire to a pan) is an almost entirely dramatic way of burning off alcohol. Some great pan sauces use liquor (cognac, whiskey, etc) and it's a nice flashy way to burn off the actual alcohol.
Some people say it adds a certain flavor to the dish, but it's mostly showboating. Not that there's anything wrong with showboating, but still.

I get it, though, this was hard for me to fully understand without subtitles, even as an adult... And I fluently speak French! (It's my 3rd language.) I recommend another fantasy cartoon with a rodent protagonist. She is a widowed field mouse trying to support her three children and keep them safe. It’s a fantasy called The Secret of NIMH.

Too much death for a Disney movie? It’s way easier to find a Disney movie that starts with death than one that doesn’t. Lion King, Up, Bambi, Finding Nemo, Soul all start with death, most of them a parental death.

At least in the US you can buy orange juice with pulp or without and usually with pulp it'll say more or less pulp and I tend to get less pulp cuz I feel like without the pulp at all it feels fake and with more pulp you're basically just chewing your juice so I like the light pulp

Yeah rosemary is a relatively easy bush to grow if you’re careful. I’ve grown some and I am not a gardener. Mint.. you be careful with mint because it will take over everything like a weed. Though I do like the smell when the lawn gets mowed. Most spices have a lovely smell and some have beautiful flowers.
My husband plans on growing spicy peppers next year and I plan on tomatoes and onions. I loooove tomatoes.
