Its a pretty normal 2000s rock song but for some reason there is so much nostalgia attached to this one for me personally. I'm not sure why that is either but man this one just hits different.
To all of these people saying this song is just like, "a bunch of other songs".. Just because a song has the same tune, or pitch doesn't mean it is anything like any other song. The emotion expressed through lyrics is what defines a song. Just as a pitch or sway defines a piece of music that may sound similar to another. Just as many others have said before this song hits home for me.

I heard this on the radio again for the first time in a long time. I had Leukemia back in 2007/08 when I was still a young kid and my mom started to cry when she heard this song because it reminded her of another kid from the same cancer station whose funeral this was played at. I don‘t really remember him as a person but when she mentioned his name I just kind of remembered that he existed. It made me really sad tbh also because I‘ve forgotten him almost completely, Ig it gave me the feeling that not even the memories of the people that died will survive forever. I wish he could‘ve kept on living if that‘s what he wanted and I hope I‘ll at least remember his name

This came out when I was 13- 2007. I used to be able to run, jump, skip stair steps, and walk long distances…. 2024 now I have had tons of surgeries especially leg surgeries. I have to use a walker, electric scooter, and sometimes a wheelchair. I look at the guy on the wheelchair and I start bawling my eyes out bc this is now my life… now I know how he feels

Axis of Awesome brought me back over here. I hilariously remember this song for some reason, even though this is as pure of a one hit wonder as it gets. It's truly amazing how powerful those 4 chords of I-V-vi-IV truly can be. Done millions of times before, but still so satisfying to this day.
Update: it's now 4353, this song gave us the willpower to rise up against the Ra-Yillian and is now our national anthem. Thank you "The Last Goodnight" you may have been a one hit wonder, but you gave us the strength to carry on.
