Story behind the song - Wolfgang Schrödl, frontman of Liquido, started writing in 1996 in his Heidelberg apartment. The previous owner's modified sounds were available on his second-hand Roland D70, which, according to his own statements, allowed him to play the melodies almost automatically. The band then sent the song on a demo mixtape to various record companies and received initial positive feedback, but no label wanted to release this outdated title.
I didn't realize that it was such a universal experience listening to this song by chance, getting it stuck in your head almost immediately, then spending a surprisingly long amount of time trying to find it again
You'd be surprised how easy it is to find. Even misquoting the final pre-chorus line as "Then, I called your name, Michael Caine." shows you the actual title on KissThisGuy. And yes. That misheard lyric has been stuck with me since I first heard it and now it's stuck with you as well. Some me just want to watch the world burn.
I remember when my friend used to show me how to play this song (melody) on the piano. He sadly passed away now i cant strop cry this song brings all the old memories back
lyrics: tututu tu tu tututututututututu tu tu tuuuutuu tu tu tututututu tututu tu tu tututututututututu tu tu tuuuutuu tu tu tututututu tututu tu tu tututututututututu tu tu tuuuutuu tu tu tututututu tututu tu tu tututututututututu tu tu tuuuutuu tu tu tututututu tututu tu tu tututututututututu tu tu tuuuutuu tu tu tututututu tututu tu tu tututututututututu tu tu tuuuutuu tu tu tututututu tututu tu tu tututututututututu tu tu tuuuutuu tu tu tututututu tututu tu tu tututututututututu tu tu tuuuutuu tu tu tututututu...
I'm shocked that you are able to write. This makes me feel very old... I mean, I danced to this song when it came out. The idea I could have a child that's able to write ARGH
I was 8 when my father has this song as ringtone. I asked what is this, but after a while I forgot. After a few years I heard it on the radio but I did not have Shazam so I couldn't recognize it. Today I heard a cover of it at the radio and in the middle off the song I exclaimed "THATS IT, SHUT UP EVERYBODY I NEED MY SHAZAM!". So it took 16 years but I finally got it. 😄
I still remember the moment I first heard this song. It was a rainy saturday morning, 6am so the dark was still outside. I was catching a train to Zagreb and went to buy a bagel in a bakery that was next to an old rock bar here in my hometown and that's when I heard it playing loudly from there. I'll never forget the feeling...such a nostalgic sound, love this song so much. :)
that s funny for i also heard it first on a 5-hour train ride from Dusseldorf central railway station to Munich when someone played it loud on a CD player for several hours nonstop - no one complained in the train compartment. :-)

The only song that has followed me from the the very second I was born. Ever since, it has always been there when I needed courage! The day I graduate from elementary school to a higher school - and Liquido Narcotic has randomly been played on the radio. Fast forward a couple years in the morning before my GCSE, and Narcotic is being played in the radio. Another years ahead, present day, and Im in University preparing for my bachelor work paper presentation, and narcotic is being played reminding me where it all started and the ups and downs Ive been going through until I finally got to where I am right now. This song will always have a special place in my heart!

LOL I searched for it for weeks like "what's that song again dededede dede"
it's because of the combo: unforgettable melody+forgettable band name
@@tchek1980 If it's so forgettable, why did you search for it?
I remember when my friend used to show me how to play this song (melody) on the piano. He sadly passed away now i cant strop cry this song brings all the old memories back
Sorry to hear that!
cRownn I'm sorry for your loss!
Sorry. I hope the song can bring your comfort also, good memories of your fantastic friend.
stay strong buddy! 😔 know that feeling..
.. he will never be dead, - the music lives on and on and on and on in all of us ..
THIS SONG WAS ON MY MIND FOR 3 MONTHS, FINALLY I FOUND IT SINGING IT INTO GOOGLE
Just watching the Eurovision and Sweden immediately reminded me of this song
"And I called your name, Michael Caine"
"and I touched your face, like cutting marmalade, Mary Jane"
Why did you create so late a channel.
A few years back and you would have millions views.
+Alex Mercer True, but let's wait and see. Maybe we'll get to a million views anyway ;)
Liquido By responding you just made my day TY.
Hope you will reach the million views quickly.
+Alex Mercer I think cause narcotics are more popular now :D :D :D :D
DarkSChocolatte Well other that would be good the vid will hav more views.
+Liquido Pretty sure you guys will , this song is awesome! #ChildhoodMemories
pozdro dla wszystkich Polaków słuchających tej piosenki żeby znowu poczuć ten letni wiatr we włosach we wczesnych latach 2000 :)
Probably the best one hit wonder of all time
One of the best intro ever done.

This song has helped me though the hard times for over 20 years, it’s all a trifle when you look at it later.

Thanks for the childhood memories. ❤
This was an anthem in our local nightclub/bar, everyone would jump into the dancefloor...miss those times.
Here after the saxophone guy from Germany 🎷
I haven't found this song...
This song found me.

SoundHound finally help me get it.
The first time I saw this song was New years eve 2013. And I found it on youtube in June 2016.
Me 2 bro. I don't know why but when I hear this song i see pictures when i was young. Great song!
my parents showed me this because this was the first song my dad asked my mom to dance with him...they are married now🙌🏼😂
sad hahaha
I'm shocked that you are able to write. This makes me feel very old... I mean, I danced to this song when it came out. The idea I could have a child that's able to write ARGH
I like them

This band is from near my hometown 😎 Saw them in a small club
This is type of songs which you hear once and spend years to find it
I was searching for "I touched your face 90s classics" and I found it!! Hallelujah 🙏🏼
I was searching and I called your name Michael Caine 😁
9 years later one of the guitarist made world succes again with the chipmunks.
lol ur right ;)
I have been looking for this song for over 5 years
Feeling so refreshed every time this plays in my local rock radio rotation =))
So viel besser als das grausame 2019er Cover...
Stimmt ........😕
I was 8 when my father has this song as ringtone. I asked what is this, but after a while I forgot. After a few years I heard it on the radio but I did not have Shazam so I couldn't recognize it. Today I heard a cover of it at the radio and in the middle off the song I exclaimed "THATS IT, SHUT UP EVERYBODY I NEED MY SHAZAM!". So it took 16 years but I finally got it. 😄
20 years! 20 fucking years I have been looking for this song!
Googled "and I called your name, MICHAEL CAINE", and it still brought me here. Thanks, Google 😅
for about 10 years, until I read the actual lyrics one day... I thought he said Michael Caine 😂😂
Song of my childhood, when this came on everyone jumped in circles and had the time of their lives, what a time!
Same here. Played at the night of our graduation. Unforgettable
@Srbo lazic Hrvatska? Srbija? Bosna?
@Srbo lazic hahahaha...dobra stara vremena....
We still do that. Alright. When the children sleep at their grandparents and we get a night out, we do it :D
Why don't older people that year0 - year10 of life are the best and I should do what u want, I am 15 and already feel like 60
I still remember the moment I first heard this song. :)
Love to Zagreb from Austria.
Ma sono italiani?
@mola adebsesi Zagreb isnt Beograd wrong country learn georgraphy idiot
@@obama6804 tedeschi
that s funny for i also heard it first on a 5-hour train ride from Dusseldorf central railway station to Munich when someone played it loud on a CD player for several hours nonstop - no one complained in the train compartment. :-)
This was my absolute favourite song back when I was a child. Those were happy days.
Lieblingslied von meinem Papa. Rip 2000 🥺❤️❤️❤️
So viel geiler, als diese neue aufgesetzte Version. Mir tun alle leid, die denken das von diesem Jahr wäre das Original.

Music of my childhood. Love it.
Riascoltarla dopo 25 anni ed è ancora bellissima!
So at us, again last Friday on Radio.
