The Asado Experience, Buenos Aires's Premier Home Style Parilla

  • I had the opportunity to visit Belen and her all women crew at her home in Belgrano for a very unique asado experience. You see, this experience also serves as a cooking class. All the cuts of meat are explained in detail and we even got to make chimichuri. The wine served was from DV Catena. A nice red to pair well with all the meat.
    The whole experience was about 3 and a half hours long. It was a rainy day in Buenos Aires, but they had a nice covered patio and the pitter patter of the rain made for a really nice backdrop.
    The 5 items on the menu were:
    1. Choripan
    2. Morcilla
    3. Molleja
    4. Matambre
    5. Bife de Lomo
    All the meat was cooked to perfection and we also helped out a little. We were taught how to make chimichuri sauce as well.
    Belen, Carla, Valentina ad Erica were the perfect hosts! And the meal was fabulous. It felt as though I was in the house of a friend enjoying a local meal. Thanks for creating such a welcoming vibe and for teaching us on the art and rituals of the sacred Asado!

      @@yogamatique947 Yes, of course.... that's would be the "New York Steak" & "Filet Mignon" type Cuts. Some cuts like molleja, vacio are not typically served in U.S. Steakhouses or butcher shops.
