    I love that year, 1993 Canadiens and their famous cup run. They had so many hero's who put their heart into that year and that 24th cup. Cant wait for another cup hopefully in a few years.

    Patrick Roy got a big bruise on the collarbone after receiving Mike Hough's shot (0:46) and that's the reason why he had to make way for André Racicot in the middle of the game. Roy asked the doctor to inject the painkiller right into the bruise before he could carry on. It also speaks volumes on how goalies were not as fully protected then as they are today.

    Hextall was brutal in that series. I always felt he was overrated but he did have a couple more good years after he left Quebec but either way, he was awful in that series.

      Partially agree, he was brutal in this series ( a Hab fan , so I was alright with that), and yes overrated. But I don’t remember him having good series after this? You may be right. A hot head who I always thought was never as good as the majority of the NHL goalies at the time.

      They put Fiset in the net…..The outcome of the series might have been different. Even Serge Savard mentioned in an interview that if Page made the switch; Habs lose that series.

      I don't usually like to pick on goaltenders, but Ron Hextall cost the Nordiques the series...He was extremely weak and was always thrown out of the half circle in front of goal...I think the Canadian would have lost if it had been a goalkeeper other than Hextall. I think the Nordiques lost a Stanley Cup in those 1993 playoffs. They would have beaten the teams that the Canadiens had defeated......

    i will always wonder what the results of the owen nolan/ patrick roy trade would have been had roy not been a baby after letting in 7 goals.

      NINE* goals. Can you remember another other case like this ? Any ? That's what I thought... So there goes your "baby" allusion pal. His relation with the coach was already chaotic before that game. Being the proud man that he always was, Roy simply wouldn't take the BS tactics from Tremblay anymore. I understand him

      @@MonTube2006 Exactly!! There were talks about moving Roy prior to that infamous game against the Wings. That incident just sped up the process.

      oh, ok 9 goals. still losing him for basically nothing has only contributed to the 30 year. cup drought...i remember the drama, and yeah i woulda preferred it being trembley who got the axe, but oh well, past is past.

    • @wilnerolivier7971
      @wilnerolivier7971 Před 11 měsíci +1

      @@joethelefty Tremblay & Houle were both inexperienced as coach & GM which is why they poorly mishandled the Roy situation!! Demers said years later that he would've dealt with Roy differently by not leaving him for all 9 goals understanding that you don't embarrass your best player.
