Was a regular working guy really able to afford a brand new Z back in the day? These Japanese sports cars have always been expensive brand new
For reference the twin turbo 300zx cost $40,000 in 1998 which is equivalent to $75,000 today. I think a lot of people walk around wearing rose colored glasses and are struck by sticker shock of the number when in reality these top of the line sports cars have always been for the business men and the wealthy

Incredibly overpriced for what it is. For $66K, You can get an M2 which is much more capable, better equipped, higher HP, superior technology and more comfortable at the same time. A Mustang Dark Horse is also a more capable competitor. These will need heavy discounts to move
Just don't get the ugly one. I'd much rather go for the previous gen's classic look. Either way, they're both more capable and enjoyable than the Nismo Z. But I also agree with Alex. Building up from the Base or even the Performance is a more attractive option.

There isn’t any indication the M2 is a better performer at this point since that head to head hadn’t happened yet.
But yes they have more space and a nicer interior.

This is the most incorrect take on the Nismo package I've seen on any of the reviews. The new Z is not a baragain by any stretch, but the Nismo package - just the package - is actually a great deal from the factory. Custom Rays forged wheels, higher performance tires, larger front brakes, revised body kit, Recaro seats, revised 9AT with more clutch packs and retuned logic, larger oil cooler, ignition timing system from the GT-R, totally revised suspension including firmer bushings and sway bars, added underbody chassis braces, more power, and special paint colors. As just a package, the Nismo option offers quite a lot for $12,000. The issue is the "base" price for the performance trim is too high for too little. Final thought: there are dealers near me offering the Nismo Z for under MSRP ($3,300 discount). You can get these for less.
What they did to the Nismo is what needed to be done to the regular new Z, not an addon overpriced trim. That front end and styling is so much better. The regular Z looks so ugly

I bought this exact car. People are going CRAZY over it.
The only reviewer that made the more fair comparison to the Supra which is the 45th anniversary edition. In my area, the 45th Supra is marked up by 15-20K more whereas you can get a Z Nismo at or even a bit below MSRP.
Great video. Yea the warranty is key here. Also finding someone who does a good job if you blow up your engine isn’t easy. Also, the stress of having all this happen. This car is pretty cool. I think it’s a great car too. Need to drive it one day.

As an Infiniti owner, this Nismo Z seems intriguing. It has all the performance my Q50 lacks, even with my mods. Looks like a fun car.
Aye I’ve long hoped they would redesign the Q50/60 with the Z changes.
Alas they seem content to let it wither on the fine till they have an EV replacement.

The price is off putting... But I guess if you're someone like me that doesn't want to do all the aftermarket work, it's the price of entry in 2023-2024. Everything is expensive. But I think I'd still go with a 6-spd Performance with a better set of tires and maybe an ECU tune. I don't plan to track it, and live in Houston so there's not much in the likes of nice backroads nearby.
It's literally part of the title but I still felt that sticker shock.

The price is high... but keep in mind they don't keep their value very well. Wait a year or two. It'll be affordable at that point.
Nismos tend to hold their values compared to normal Z’s
The new z has be out two years is not like old z especially twin turbo not be like 350z & 370z those cars when the Came out they were under $40k for top of line now u pay $70k plus for top of line with taxes and twice turbo !

A base corvette. This is the Z’s top trim… and today it’s almost imposible to get a C8 at $67k+

$66,000! Makes the Z Performance seem like a bargain. Hope Nissan will offer a “track package” for the Z Performance with suspension/tire upgrade and bigger brakes for $3500. Get it with the manual, and you have the perfect Z!
That's the only way I'd buy it.
I have tried to buy a 2024 Nismo today and unfortunately Nissan is selling their cars through chiselers.
After being quoted $68,500.00 for the car by a Nissan dealers salesperson, I agreed to buy the car.
Two hours later I get a communication from the chiseler/dealer saying there is $10k up charge being applied to the agreed upon price.
Shame on Nissan for allowing such dishonorable sales practices. I have owned a Datsun 240z and 260z and was really excited about the new Z, but now "to be honest" I could not be more disappointed by this business practice, allowed by Nissan.

I would get the performance model with the manual transmission and swap out the tires and I'd be a happy camper! :-)
1970-73 240 Z much better "investment". This will depreciate. An original 240 will appreciate and is way ahead in the cool factor. It's the same story, the original designs of the 60s and 70s cars have never been improved. Yes, safety, emissions, suspensions, etc are all better, but if you gave me one of these new Z cars I'd sell it fast and find a restored 240.

If I bought it, I would need a manual. So performance trim it is.
If I were designing it, the fenders would actually be wider than the performance model, not widened with stick ons. BMW does this with the M2, it actually is wider, not with stick on plastic. Also it needs magnetic ride and manual and the choice of colors on other Z's. They are pretty far away from competing with the Supra yet.

At 65K, I would take the Manual Supra Premium trim for 59K. Supra just have much better engine and a manual.

Way overpriced. Yikes. This should have been the Z for $45k, especially considering this is a 350Z underneath which the tooling has been paid off for decades now. I would normally complain about the lack of a manual transmission option, but truthfully this is so overpriced I would never consider it anyways

Subaru coming for *EVERYONE* given an absolute *BOSS* of Rally Car even as standard. Huge fan of standard transmissions but totally understand why automatics with paddle shifters still remain all the rage. Drive modes I would presume but maybe not? If not huge oversight for the Nismo Z would be my gig on this a very impressive lineage going back an entire Lifetime(s) now. Long $hmc Honda Motor Corporation strong buy
