Thank you!!! My Dad recorded this on VHS but only did the first few minutes (ended around the 10 minute mark I think) and the last minutes of the game and the last skates around the ice. He also recorded the same tape the tribute show they did a few days later. What an experience and send off! I teared up at the last skate....
Raymond Bourque was good like the Esposito number retirement, when he was wearing 7 then, he took off the old jersey, and the number was 77. And the Boston Bruins, retired 7 for Esposito
I MUST have that Boston Garden 'Last Hurrah' patch for my Bruins reverse retro jersey. It's become very hard to find. There was one listed on Ebay just recently but some bastard beat me to it.
The players in the Bruins on WSBK intro should've had Shore, Schmidt, Cheevers, Don Cherry wearing his famous too-many-men suit, Bobby Orr, Phil Esposito & Ray Bourque.
Anyone here watching Sean McDonough call the last two minutes in the history of the original Gahden after he called Pasta’s OT thriller Saturday night???
My guess it had to do with maintaining the ice and other things like concession stands etc. Maybe they could only serve so much and so long since it was about to get torn down.
Not as far as I am aware. When Montreal played the final game at The Forum they should have been playing against either BOSTON or Tarrannah and not against Dallas.
those poor bruins players who had to sit around and watch this silly ceremony t the end, and i feel doubly more bad for those who were traded shortly after this game lol
Steve Kaspar is the worst coach ive ever seen in my life. Im 35 now and as a kid I loved this Bruins team. They had Oates, Bourque, Neely and a good surrounding cast. After they hired Kaspar, everything changed. The vets hated him and he ruined the franchise. Kaspar is even worse then the fake Hitler we hired (Dave Lewis) around 2004ish.
I can't possibly thank you enough for posting this! It brings back so many wonderful memories.
I miss this little shit box so much. Great childhood memories there with my New York Rangers fan dad.
Was the best. The greatest arena ever built.
Thank you!!!

Those sounds from those boards were just amazing you can hear the crunch of the body checks
I only watched this because i miss watching bruins hockey, very, very much.
How all those hockey greats bowed in reverence to number 4 is just chilling.
That building was special.
Rancourt looks exactly the same
I was 10yrs old when this happened Thank You for all the memories Boston Garden.
Bourque and O'Reilly helping Leveille!! Check into that especially if you cried for Hamlin
2:46:36 i love how orielly is mauling someone while the sad music plays😂
I am so desperate for hockey I am watching a preseason game from 25 years ago

Geeziz, the memories and the emotion.
It's videos as this is the reason they invented the internet..

Let's Go B's!
Damn they used to give the anthem the Chicago treatment!

... and Don Earle on the microphone!
Anyone here watching Sean McDonough call the last two minutes in the history of the original Gahden after he called Pasta’s OT thriller Saturday night???
Even Boston loves Grapes🍒.
Was it explained why they did two 25 minute halves instead of a regular game? Even though it was preseason that never made sense to me.
My guess because it was tv38 not nesn who had this game

That had a long ceremony that best fit between an expanded intermission. Nobody really cared. Everyone was there for the ceremonies.
So cool
😪🤧
Mark Recchi probably the last Bruin to have played in the old building?
Jaromir Jagr.
Who Else Remembers This?
I remembers this too to the day almost 25 years ago. Which, I VCR taped it and back in 2012 transfer it into DVD-R it too!!!
I just watched it live 😂
The garden seats came from my hometown- Gardner ma .
@@e4fc397 A queens cup winner!
Lol I remember UPN 38
Why was Gordie Howe not invited?
Was anything presented to the Boston Bruins after The Montreal Forum was permanently shut down?
Not as far as I am aware.

Sunday; April 18, 1971 --- 7th game, opening playoff series..... and Bruins lost what should have been "a three-peat"..... mostly due to poor defense.
I used to think Fred Cusik was irreplaceable. He's still a legend, but he's no Jack Edwards.
You're drunk. No one can touch Cusick.
@afmartin2734 Well I certainly hope no one touches him. He's been dead for over 14 years. Probably decomposed by now. 🤣
1:16:00 this is a treasure
Where was Willie O Ree ????
No one cared about him because he played 5 games lol.
