WBZ Archives: Goodbye Boston Garden

On this day in 1995, the last meaningful game was played at the Boston Garden. It was Game 5 of the NHL Eastern Conference quarterfinal series between the Bruins and Devils. The Bruins lost 3-2 and were eliminated from the playoffs.

I miss the old barn still to this day im a die hard bruins fan I was 15 years old in the last season of the garden and had been to a few games there I'm now 38 and have been to alot of bruins games at td garden and I like td garden but loved the old garden i still have dreams every so often about it i wish it was still standing

I snuck into the garden over 300 times. I fought all the security guards and I met so many players both hockey and basketball. The tunnel walk to the elevator to bus was legendary! They know me there....peace! 617

Correct. There’s a building on canal called “offices of Madison Sq Garden” and former Bruins goalie Cleon Deskalakis owns a great private club there where a lot of the players go after the games. Also, Brady’s dad’s insurance office there.

The World wrestling Federation (WWF) had many shows there and the 1993 survivor series was the final wrestling event held at the Boston Garden

Not true, the last WWF event was a house show May 13th, 1995, billed as "A Night To Remember", with many old legends brought along to pay tribute.
Survivor Series '93 was the first and last pay per view held there.

When I say that I was born in the wrong generation, I mean it. I would’ve loved to walk into this place, get to watch a game (reg. season, playoffs, finals), concert, whichever. I would’ve loved that.
