Been having a lot of fun setting up and playing lightgun games since picking up my Sinden, Batocera really does make things simple but the Raspberry Pi does have its limitations
glad your enjoying it :) it is worth the messing about with
Certainly the cheaper alternative to the time crisis cab lol, and so far can do much more
Thanks for providing me some motivation, and plan to try two Sinden configuration of possible!
Thanks for this video. Very helpful.
You're very welcome
Do you have a video how to configure the light gun to a game? You mentioned 1 work with no issues but the rest needed configuration. Maybe its simple but im just starting out using batocera. Thank for any help or pointers.
I don’t have any config video but I used on created by @retrogamingguy that I used as a reference

For most games the config was really just switching the Action button to where I wanted it, for example a USB peddle for playing Time Crisis. Point Blank needed a bit of working altering X and Y sensitivity. It’s a bit more of a guessing game as it depends on the size of the screen and the aspect ratio you are displaying on. Would highly recommend that video, will help you put a lot
Have you had any issues with you pi running sluggish when the recoil is on? I think the sinden uses a lot of power from the pi and is causing issues. What pi power supply do you recommend? I don’t think my pi is getting enough power when I use the sinden with recoil. When I play T2, it slows down when I use recoil
Cant say I've noticed it. I've not played T2 but Alien 3 uses the constant recoil and I've not seen any slow down or anything like that
Can you tell me which power adapter you use? I need to see if it’s that.
@@Matthew-vb8qb Mines just using the 5.1V 3A power supply that came with the Pi 4

Hope that helps
@@CHQArcade just a follow up- it did help. I was using a different generic charger from Amazon that was for my model, but it didn’t work correctly. I got the pi charger and it works much better now. Thanks for the info!
@@Matthew-vb8qb Ahh yes man! Thats great to hear
I have a Raspeberry PI4 and the sd card just for a sinden lightgun build, I'm just wondering what systems it ll work for. Can it play any of the PS2, PS3 or WII gun games?
PS3 and Wii are a No for the Pi. I haven’t tried with the PS2 so not too sure but hoping to give it a go and see. Dreamcast works very well and there are some great light gun games for it
@@CHQArcadeThanks, I'm ok with missing out on some WII and PS3 games.
I can use this to play Duck Hunt
Yes you can!
Would sure be nice if there were some instructions on how to get the sinden light gun configured on raspberry pi/recalbox. Thought it was plug and play but apparently it's not.
Nothing in this video shows how to setup. Disappointing.
That’s because I’m using Batocera and it’s plug and play, no set up required as it detects it and preforms set up for you.
@@CHQArcade thanks for the quick response. Any clue on how to configire for recalbox? I may have bought a $125 paperweight 😔
I’m afraid not mate, I’ve not used recalbox before. Took a Quick Look at the Sinden wiki and they have recalbox listed as untested. Best bet may be to jump on to the Sinden Discord and see if anyone has had any luck setting up in there. Might be able to steer you in the right direction
