@LouisianaOutlaw I have an old Sony xplode 1200watt amp that I got like 12 years ago and i ran it for a year or 2 before i got a rockford amp but I tried it out the other day to see if it still worked and it does. That amp has been through alot. I am thinking about restoring it and getting a couple xplode subs just for fun hooking it up in our suv that we don't really drive.

Those pioneers actually hit pretty hard when I was in between systems I threw them in the trunk of the DTS I had at the time and they would be more than enough to make normies with sensitive ears tap out
I had the tsw309D4s. I can't tell if those are the 309s or 3003s. I wanted to upgrade to the tsw3003d2s but went a different route. The 309s took one helluva beating for several years. I miss those subs.

Hey man I remember throwing a pair of these and a pioneer 870w amp in my wife's Nissan maxima and even I was shocked how loud it was but I had sealed boxes and it literally flexed the sunroof 3in and you could hear it blocks away plus I went to pi k her up from work one time and I got there early so I sat outback in the parking lot bumping some tunes n the manager came out bitching that customers had been complaining and I was rattling stuff inside the brick building 🤣
Same here. I still dont know why my pair seemed so loud, sealed. On a SoundQubed Q1-1200.1 @ 1 ohm. They hit the lows and everything, whole roof was flexing like crazy

I grew up with Pioneer... I'm 51 and still love them. I downgraded from 4 subs to one.... as you get older and start your families, other things take priority. I'll always be bumpin' though.... even as a senior citizen!! 😅😅😅
I think you did a great job buddy there’s always room for improvement. Obviously it’s not your first system but you got everything working before the show that’s all that matters besides having fun that’s number one

Heck, Series 1 from Fosgate sounded good back in the day. I had a cheap off brand 10 from parts express that sounded good in my Kia.

I have the same car and it sucks finding a pre fab ported box to fit those trunks. The trunk opening makes it impossible to place anything close to what should be in there for 2 12s or even 2 10s. Even a custom box is difficult.
Update on the system: bringing these subs back to TDH2024 with a new build and amp setup.
Nice build brother. I've got 2 focus', so I def know about them. I've got a Mk I & III. Building a custom box now for my '05 and doing a v8 engine swap with the old pushrod 5.0W.
Owner of the car here, it was probably my least favorite setup I’ve had in the car. It was months after I bought it and threw something in to make it to the show. I’ve ran sundown afterwords for a while and actually just did a new build with these exact subwoofers and it performs much better than they did in this video. I’ve had them since right after high school and they have been my favorite drivers. Only reason I swapped out my sundown build for these again is because I’ve always favored sq over spl
Try skar vxf, it's the best of both worlds. It has tight and low bass too

Champion series are not available at Walmart….well maybe online for order but so is sundown , alpine and so on….. 😂
these are really sick subs for 600rms, its only how you play them. i have seen people doing hair and paper tricks with them

I got mine back in 2016, only paid like $70 for it on Amazon. Was really impressed with the output and it had good SQ as well. One of the best bang for the buck subs back in the day.
I'd flip the box around and seal it to the cabin, would make a world of difference in this car.

those pioneer champs can take a beating, i used to have 2 12s in my '14 honda. hooked to a 3k hercules amp at 1 ohm. was def pushing more than they were rated for!
Box isn't good and they are underpowered. I have the same ones in a badly build box and i just get 141db's. They played to 18hz tho

The owner of this mustang acts like its a total surprise, that as he put it, "The trunk is just soaking it up!" Ge i wonder if i smashed my face against a wall, and then wondered why when i yelled that it wasnt very loud!? He has his subwoofer enclosure backwards, with trim panels around it, blocking alot of the sound= trapping the bass in the trunk!

Reminds me of me when I got into car audio we all have started some were some of us got lucky with some sick setup and some of us just an ok setup! But what matters is if driver is happy then it’s all good bass from their brother! You keep those pioneers just set em up a lil better and they’ll rock!

I have two 90's 6x9 Sony Mobile ES with mylar caps, two Pioneer Pro 6x9 ( with acustom made air coil core coil and mylar cap crossovers all at 80Hz / 24db/octave rolloff) I run them off of a small MTX 2100x Amp, a Kenwood Excelon x304, Mofo X 12 Subs in a 3.8ft3 Box ported at 38hz, and two Pioneer 1K 480w RMS amplifiers. I have 2 runs of OFC 4 gauge and a 8 gauge run for the smaller amp. I have the stock 150 Amp alternator but I did upgrade the engine, and frame grounds and a 4 gauge alternator charge cable with brass terminals on the battery. Most of it was used, some new old stock, but nothing special. You don't really need to spend a lot to get some tunes going.

My buddy has these same 12s in a eclipse hatch back and they hit so stupid hard it funny. It’s literally comical how hard those cheap ass 2 12s hit. He does have a nice pro enclosure but still cheap pioneer 12s shouldn’t hit that hard you’d think. He’s gotta be doing 40s in that eclipse.

You are not familiar with the premier woofers. The ts-w5000spl woofers are well above several high end woofers available now

Everybody has to start somewhere. Pioneer probably good for sound quality. Those subs may have some potential. I would like to see in a bandpass enclosure. I had a klipsch 12 inch bandpass, similar wattage rating that was surprisingly deep and sounded really good with groups like Notorious BIG and juicy J

Its his choice but systems in sports cars are hard for me to watch cause thats a mustang gt manual props to him but systems adds weight to vehicle so hes slowing his vehicle down but probably can still spank a lot of people at stop lights.
