  • "Thousand Cranes (1959)" is the story of young man who was surrounded by females of mysterious relationships with his late wealthy father. His demeanor was indecisive and ambiguous. Kawabata use tea ceremony as a background of this sad but interesting story of family and friends. For long time, I had avoided this author's books which is always sad and repressive. But, now I got older and started to read his books. they are beautifully written and the story of love and loyalty is the essence of this strong and tenacious Japanese nature.
