omg the nondairy struggle of accidentally buying sweetened
The worst
Don’t know if it’s officially‘freeze-able”, but when I find things like vegan cheese, cream cheeses (miyokos is my norm), or vegan deli slices on sale, I buy one, freeze one & it’s been just fine on thawing them out. 😊. Heck yes to affordable vegan groceries!
I love this!!! I feel you on the having multiple types of milk open or multiple loaves of bread
This video is SO good, SO comprehensive, and I am sharing with a friend who's aspiring to veganism. Thanks for the work you put into this!
I’m not vegan but I love watching your videos, they’re always so interesting to watch and very calming
If it helps I'd definitely recommend buying frozen spinach instead of fresh! You can get a bag of frozen spinach cubes for pretty cheap, at least over here in the UK, and it lasts ages. I find it really great for when I just want to add spinach to a curry or vegetable scramble or something because you don't need to wait for the spinach to wilt, you can just defrost the cubes in the microwave for a few seconds and toss it in. Also each cube is usually the perfect amount that I would use anyway so I find it's definitely an easier option than having to buy bags of fresh spinach often because they don't last as long :)
We have this in the US as well! I get the bags of frozen spinach and they are perfect for smoothies! Def would recommend 👌
Because it takes AGES for spinach to wilt! 😂
I just pop the fresh in the freezer if I feel I can’t eat it all. Works just fine with all dark hearty leafy greens.
@@jadez57 Oh yeah of course! I’m just saying that in bags of already frozen you get a LOT more so it’s much more cost effective!
@@eviecalver1293 it just always tastes so watered down to me though. The companies probably blanch it first. I don’t. I pop the fresh into a vac sealed bag & put in freezer. It just taste better to me that way. I’ll usually buy 2 bags…1 in freezer, 1 in fridge. 🌻💕🌻
I was literally about to Google " vegan grocery essentials for a single person"🙌 you're a life saver lol
Yessss it’s 3:30am here and this is just what I needed!
same but the next day 😝😝 lets gooo
ur videos are so comforting i always feel like i'm facetiming a close friend that i'm catching up with
I never thought to freeze mushrooms! Thanks for the tip
Love your videos and your whole vibe. You're so kind and informative 🥰
it’s the best sweater ever ♡
i loved this video so much i like the way you talk ! and i like ur calm jokes and chill energy
That sweater is everything
this video genuinely gave me so many ideas about reducing my food waste. thank you!!!
emily in the chillest way i am in love with you so keep on keeping on
Thank you sooo much for this!! I recently moved out on my own & really want to avoid wasting food. 👌🏻
You are killing it with the pink jumper
omg im moving out soon when our lease is up and I'm so excited to buy some blueland stuff to stock up my kitchen and bathroom. i always love the companies u choose to showcase ty ty
That smoky tempeh is incredible with avocado and cheese on sourdough cooked like a grilled cheese.
hey soup is great, delicious and versatile, don't feel ashamed about your love of soup!!
If you happen buy a bag of lemons and want them to stay fresh longer put them in the fridge. They will start to look shriveled on the outside but they are less likely to grow mold.
I wash mine before putting them into the fridge and I think that also helped to make them stay fresh for longer
This went by quickly! I really enjoyed it :)
thank u 🤍 i was worried it was too long!
I just found you through this video b/c of the title. As a “live alone” person…the struggle of not wasting food is real! Can’t wait to find your soup videos! Love me some SOUP! One thing…I love that you shared about your bread…can you share where you got some of your other items like the miso? I loved this video & will def watch it again! Blessings & Hugs! 🧡🌻
That green silk soy is so underrated but it’s somehow also always sold out but it’s absolutely the best alt milk.
Thank you so much for this! So helpful for going vegan while being cost effective and reducing food waste 🤗 & I love how well rounded & nutrient dense your groceries are ! 💜
Never heard of Blueland but definitely checking them out!
your videos helped me so much with being vegan you can't even imagine!!! i've been vegan since 2019 and your videos helped me to find inspiration for my meals and also you are so chill to watch🧡
thank you for this video too!! i like how your hauls are kinda relatable)) even tho i live in russia and we have different prices and products heere it's still interesting to see what vegan options you can have abroad and how i can find something similar here!
sorry for this big rant but i just wanted to leave a big comment this time lmao
Blueland products look great! Another excellent video!
Love your channel! ❤️ I’ve been in a food rut lately and so thanks for the inspiration!
Emily you're the best!! 🌈🌞
This was a great video Emily! 💗
i make a high protein spinach artichoke dip with silken tofu!!
Take a shot every time she says "Soup" 😂
Love 🥰 this video and Emily's video's are always more realistic and interesting. The food is awesome & delicious. Love 💕 Emily.
this is the first of your videos i've watched, but i have truly never felt more seen
Great content! Some people, like TheVietVegan save the aquafaba to make a vegan mayo! I haven't had success with it myself but have managed to use it for a salad dressing.
Just moved in to an apartment on my own, thanks for the veggie saving tips!!
emily i hope you know that you are amazing. keep it up
i love ur videos i feel like we're best friends
Really enjoyed your video thanks! ❤
for using lentils, lentil flatbread is so good for adding extra protein, you can even make them sweet and make crepes or use them as panca6
I like to save my broccoli stalks and cut them up like carrots sticks and use them to eat hummus or other dips. I actually prefer the stalk over the floret. 😂
Loveeee the sweater!!!,
Another perfect video ily
That is a really cool sweater!!
Always love these staple essentials! Curious if you have sources for where you got some of your storage equipment (I'm eyeing the measuring cup, seasoning, paper towel roll holder on the fridge). Also your pantry organizers are just beauty to the eyes! That can rack... all the canned beans and grains and such just pile up on a vegan diet so I really need to up my storage organization game.
Idk about that rack specifically but can racks are sold at walmart!
This was great for beginners,thanks!
Thank you so much for this video!
wuuuu thank youuu ill be living on my own in a different continent for the first time on august and this will def help me measure out my groceries :)
awesome! some solid items you got there
Just found you, girl! Love your videos! You do so well filming and your voice is so relaxing. I’m enjoying watching all you past videos and looking forward to new ones. 🤗
I’ve been vegetarian (I eat dairy) since I was 14 (I’m 31 now 😁), so it makes me so happy to see more of these videos.
This is a love letter to soup.
the rubbermaid freshworks produce containers are really good for prolonging produce! i also struggle with finishing celery lol
This was sooo helpful
yay! 💞💞
That IS a VERY cute sweater!
Cream cubes ✨🤗 Just love you.
I’m curious because in switzerland the veggies and fruits usually don’t come in plastic packaging, is this “normal” in the US? We can bring our own bags to the store and fill them and then just weigh it and the price depends on the weight.
Yes! I thought I was the only crazy person with coconut milk ice cubes in the freezer 😁
creating new bacterial cultures in my fridge with the aquafaba i save from the can and inevitably never use
oh my god 😭
i feel so called out
Normal being in quotes make me chuckle for some reason ☺️
aah love this. i have to go grocery shopping soon so this is perfect, lol
It's 3am and I was just about to go to sleep, then you posted 😭😭.
Love the Blueland tablets and regular use them for cleaning, but the acrylic bottles all cracked for me after less than a year. Had to end up buying other spray bottles that are the same oz as the blueland ones, but I love the aesthetic so I was pretty bummed when they all cracked. So I would absolutely recommend others to just use their own bottles (maybe even thoroughly clean other cleaning bottles!) and just buy the tablets!
Also, I love Silk soy milk but their oat milk is not it for me. I love Aldi’s oat milk!
If you email Blueland and tell them your bottles cracked, they will replace them for free! They also updated the design so they no longer have a seam so they won’t crack.
@@Efairfield good to know, thanks!!
You should try cashew milk!! I just got into it and it’s got a very plain taste, so it’s perfect for cooking with!
loved this video
Grocery Outlet will have some crazy good discounts that I had no idea until Emily kept mentioning them.
I'm not vegan anymore but i love ur videos and I'm always trippin cuz we live in the same city and you're the only Fresno youtuber I know of
I wish I had that sweater 💛
Thank you for sharing, and giving tips for us being alone, and not eating a whole head of lettuce for every meal, or a gallon of milk for our cereal at once 😂🤑
I have been vegan for 14 years, and I so relate to about everything you say, and keeping up with our food, not just the produce, but also things like the milk is very important. I try to have some kind of a plan when I open up my soy milk (that is my favorite milk 😋) so it don’t go bad. Good reminder to buy all things unsweetened, I do that myself, and I have seen other CZcamsrs also doing that, but you didn’t just say it for “health” but also for being alone and that it need to be vercital (how do I spell that word right?? 😅 I give up 😅🙈) so it don’t go bad.
I love my frozen veggies, and berries, and I also freeze leftovers like bell peppers going a little sad. I use English cucumbers, that is the normal cucumbers here in Norway, and I feel they hold up very well, and I normally don’t have a problem with them going slimy. I love a little tapas plate with snap peas, red bell peppers, prune’s, and what other things I have open/on hand, like cucumbers in sticks, mini tomato and some vegan deli meat, bits of vegan cheese (I use a Norwegian brand, so not relevant for the cheese (Coop Vegetardag), and Swedish Astrid och Aporona for salami deli meat, or Lotus ham, is there are any other Scandinavians here). That is a yummy snacks that clean up the fried too 😋
I also love tofu, edamame, mushrooms, vegan soy Greek yoghurt (Alpro), oats, sweet potatoes or regular potatoes, I love baked sweet potato in the microwave 😋
I can’t have most legumes, or any in the onion family, but soy is no problem for my stomach. I have severe ibs, some allergies, and intolerance, plus I use some medication that is very hard for my stomach, so I have some restrictions, but normally I make all foods at home and I don’t think that much about it. 😊
Thanks again! Love from Johanne, Norway 🇳🇴
Love your sweater so much!!! I need to know where you got it
It is a very nice sweater
I loved your vid. We buy the exact same stuff. And I also buy the cheaper stuff when cooking for others because it can be too expensive lmao
That soft tofu is soooo good in soondubujigge!
i have heard of that i wanna try to make it someday!
@@emlyewng check out future neighbors channel for the recipe!! So easy to veganize it too!
Soup girlies unite😤
You should try making dulce de leche with the coconut cream. It's a latinamerican sweet. Very tasty.
Skips to any part of the video: “this is good in soup”
I don't really like aquafaba as an egg replacer, so I've been using it in soups and pasta sauces to add some extra flavour and protein.
You should cut & fry zucchini’s add a little salt&pepper & DONE 10/10
k these are my exact same essentials as well LMAO I will buy a block of tofu every single time i’m at any grocery store. even if I know I have some at home. I need unlimited tofu.
you’re “supposed to” refrigerate hemp seeds!! i don’t think it rly matters but it usually says to refrigerate after opening.
i keep mine frozen :) cause i dont use them so much, but ive had the same bag for a few years and theyre still perfect
I bought that very bag 3 times before I ever noticed that 💀
Someone times I get confused if I watched the video because of your favourite jumper 😂
Wait literally same I also need to get back on the bean bus lol
Have you tried the Trader Joe’s vegan Mac? The texture is pretty mushy but I still like it
wild blueberries over regular blueberries every day. costco has big ole bags of frozen wild blueberries that I get hehe
Woo-hoo I do the same thing. I'm constantly shopping at different stores. I shop at Walmart, whole foods, sprouts and Sam's club. Wish I could only shop at one, but I can't afford that.
OMG I need so know where you got that can organizer in your pantry…I want to organize my beans 🥺😅
Have you tried the vegan milk brand Malk?
raw broccoli stems r very yum
Good video and cool sweater. Hemp seeds should be refrigerated.
I love blue land, so cheap and convenient but my kitchen and bathroom bottle both broke within 4 months of regular use:(
we love a sponsored babe
Thanks for the unsweetened non-dairy milk idea. I never thought of that before.
it always confuses the hell out of me that the US sells vegetable broth pre-mixed. in Europe you buy it powdered and just dissolve it in Water, wayy easier
i’ve never seen powder here but bouillon cubes are popular.. but for some reason a lot of people still buy the liquid broth because they think its more convenient?? idk 😭 or maybe they just think its fresher or soemthin
@@emlyewng as someone who has to take the bus to get groceries, that just sounds exhausting tbh!!
Amazon has amazing price for vegetable and fruit.
*insert Vince Mcmahon laser eyes meme* stopped the previous video i was watching for this weeeee
I’m not even a vegan but this is literally what I have in my pantry
tbh i almost only buy frozen vegetables so i can get a variety but they won't go bad; they're cheaper, like you said; and also this is so lazy but i hate cutting vegetables
i wish the packaging for frozen veg wasn’t plastic - i’d feel better buying it because i also hate cutting veg lol.
i know i hate the plastic too… i think it depends on the person because if it keeps you from producing food waste or from buying fresh produce that might also be in plastic thats a good compromise but yeah it sucks
Nice🙋👍👍
I wish I lived in the US DAMN
