More turbo Miata comparisons please. It would be pretty hilarious to see how a $10-15k miata stacks up against more "performance" oriented cars. It could almost be a dedicated segment of your normal reviews.

Gearing was a huge factor in that race. When Matt shifted to 4th , Ryan still had 3k rpm in 3rd . That goes to show that the miata is made for small twisty roads. Maybe you should give them a rematch at the track . The M3 gearing might be a bit awkward in a small track .

You would be surprised about them bmws... I remember reading a article about 2 guys in a f10 m5 and they were doing 150+ on the autobahn. Lost control totalled the car, rolled more times then they can count and both lived to tell about it. You never know

Nice race. Impressed with that miata. Wow!!! That beamer well I knew it was fat but that motor is badass. On a short track i believe the miata would take it if it can stay on the boost exiting corners. On a large track it might be interesting. The miata is lighter so the advantage goes to the miata for braking and mid corner speed. On the exits though that beamer will pull it self out hard. As far as another race with the beamer my pick ofcourse would be the flame throwing braping machine.
When you actually do the numbers of both cars the power to weight ratio on both are actually very close. With out exact numbers on the Miata I can't be 100% certain but given that most turbo Miatas I've seen make about equal torque to HP (give or take some HP) and they are estimating maybe 270 at the crank than that means the Miata actually has a better Torque to weight ratio than the M3 but the M3 has an ever so slightly better HP to weight ratio (nearly identical) to the Miata.

Awesome video guys, keep up the great work and have fun! Always preferred the more 'humble' look of the E90 over the E92. Sounds sensational and looks comfortable to be in too. Its a shame that BMW won't make naturally aspirated high revving engines with ITBs anymore - we live in a day now that the next generation 2 series (M235i gran coupe) will be a turbocharged 4 cylinder mounted transversely with an AWD setup 👎 Couldn't care that they'll be faster than their RWD predecessors with genuine performance engines!

I had a 92 Sunburst Miata , with the Flying Miata turbo Kit, ATC Clutch , their turbo exhaust , FM2 intercooler, Carb Legal, California Car, dyno at 165 HP with 155 Torque , broke the stock limited rear end drag racing, then I installed a 2000 Miata Torsen 3:90 rear end out of a 6 Speed , did a 14.606 in the Quarter, also had it up too 131 MPH on Hwy 395 coming back from Vegas, with the top down, had to let out of it because My Heavy lined Levi Jacket that was stuffed in the Passenger floor started to float out,

@@mattwiser7982 hot damn! I can tell it works good. I have both mazda speed mounts. I have troubles doing fast shifts, seems like the trans is happier with slower shifts. Do you have the gt2554R or the gt2560R?

@@TheSlipAngle The most powerful N/a Rotary engine ever created in a chassis designed for perfect 50/50 balance. It was a stealth race car given to soccer moms and lazy commuters with the tightest emissions standards to date. It was misunderstood and doomed from the start. I'm just glad I nabbed one for myself. For my future application, I could not think of a more perfect car.
That long gearing definitely helped the bmw out

Guys - interesting content, great editing, and sensational cars! (I first saw Quinn's channel when he had a few 'in-car' videos of him in both of his Miatas...... raw and visceral stuff.... very exciting to watch!). One challenge for you to consider - you limit the upside potential of your channel if you have gratuitous F-bombs and off color comments about what the gun and BMW interior smells like.... the 'big guys' (Finnegan and Freiburger etc.) keep things "G Rated", and your channel's appeal would be broader if you'd take the same approach......

Miata is about 210 to 220 whp estimated. Ryan's engine does about 345 whp stock and he has a couple mods and a tune, so maybe 350 to 355 whp on his

It hasn't been dyno'ed but at 11 psi on the 1.8 it should be around 210-220 whp.
