    tip: instead of all milk add one half of sparkling water and other half of milk , imo coconut milk works the best for the vegan ones, i think batter it should be bit runnier so crepes are bit thinner. my friend's mom used to make them with sparkling water and tbh those are the best crepes i've ever tried :D

    It's actually really common for us in France to have the savory version ! We just don't put any sugar or other flavors in the batter, everything's on the filling :)
    Btw concerning the filling : we put it inside the crêpe, not on the top !
    But thanks so much for this recipe, I'm gonna try it asap !

    • @lelem35
      @lelem35 Před 6 lety +5

      Ah bah si je confirme je mets du sucre dans la pâte perso ---> après pour le filling j'pense pas que ça soit spécialement culturel, juste si t'as envie de faire une photo insta tu fais genre tu fiches tout sur le top pour faire classe et sinon boum tu fourres tout à l'intérieur :') Le secret des crêpes BRETONNES en tout cas, c'est clairement le beurre haha. Après en version vegan bah je sais pas, j'imagine du beurre vegan? Bref bref, les crêpes c'est la vie :D

    • @margotcobat5129
      @margotcobat5129 Před 6 lety +2

      lelem35 tu mets du sucre même quand tu les fais salé ? Perso je mets ni sucre ni sel, comme ça je peux mettre ce que je veux dessus ! Oui c'est sûr que mettre la garniture dessus c'est plus intagrammable mais on va pas de cacher que quand on fait des crêpes, on les bourre au max et c'est tout mdr. Contrairement à ce que l'on croit, les crêpes ne sont pas une spécialité bretonne ! On en mange relativement peu, la vraie spécialité reste la galette de sarrasin :)

    Fave crepe filling is Nutella + fresh raspberries and now there are delicious vegan brands of choc hazelnut spread. Chestnut praline cream/puree + dark chocolate drizzle or lemon curd + blueberries + powdered sugar are my other fave options. I think filling crepes with Lotus Biscoff cookie butter would be worth a try too! Or boiling a can of soy or coconut sweetened condensed milk to make a vegan dulce de leche! Thanks so much for the recipe!

    I made these savoury by adding a tiny bit more salt and a little pepper, but I don’t think they need too much else. I love putting vegan cheese, fried mushrooms and spinach on one side of the pancake as it’s cooking and then fold it over in half to encase the filling and cooking for another minute or so to melt the cheese and heat everything through. It’s soo good but there’s endless filling options: tomato, vegan cream cheese, peppers, courgettes, potato, vegan ham, sweetcorn etc.

    Hey ! Salted crêpes exist in France but we make it with buckwheat flour instead of regular flour :)
    It's named "crêpe salée" if you want to search it on internet, it's not vegan everytime but could easily be (water + flour + salt)
    By the way, this recipe seems perfect !

    • @auChevalierRed
      @auChevalierRed Před 2 lety

      @@lydiapetra1211 Hello Lydia. Actually the buckwheat version is the ancient Celtic version, hence it still being the preferred version in more traditionally all-Celtic areas of France, such as Brittany. It's original recipe is simply buckwheat, water and salt. Although dating a few centuries back still, the crepe is a much more recent version and comes from the Germanic areas and has progressively replaced the ancient "galette" as its taste is not as strongly overcoming the filling and you can eat way more wheat flour crepes than you can eat of a buckwheat one before feeling full.
