Having just got back. Travelling to Manila during Christmas will always be chaotic. Number of people going to Phillipines will be greater than the capacity of the airport. Plus the tendency of Filipinos to bring home pasalubongs makes picking up your luggage a time consuming affair. Add to that , since there is no train from airport to city center, taxis and GRAB are in short supply. If the prospect of spending christmas alone and cold wasnt worse than spending it in hectic and traffic filled Manila , I’d aviod travelling to Phillippines before Christmas. It gets better after Dec 25

This is my eight trip to Philippine's in 5 years, i must say this was the smoothest arrival since dropping OHP, E travel was great, quick scan and i was on my way, also fast at immigration, i was waiting for my baggage for the first time, usually it has gone around on the conveyer a few dozen times before i get there, been here for 2 weeks now and enjoying as usual, happy new year.

If you flew into the Philippines from Jan 7 onward and unvaccinated, reply here if you were asked for an Antigen test. I'm not vaccinated and when I arrived in Manila this past Saturday, no one asked me for the results of my Antigen test. All I showed was a picture of the Etravel barcode on my phone and they waved me through. These kind of datapoints can be helpful to future travelers

No one asked for anything besides eTravel QR code and passport, answered a few questions related to length of trip and reason for visiting (normal immigration questions). There was a lot of conflicting information out there, however I am happy that the whole process turned out to be normal.

Hi Jennifer, I have been following your blog for months. I am unvaccinated so it has been stressful traveling. In the beginning of June, Hawaii dropped their restrictions so I flew to Honolulu from Manila with no problem. July 1 Thailand lifted their restriction so I flew to Bangkok. I was in Phuket for 5 months but I had to fly to Penang, Malaysia a couple times to do a visa run. It was no problem going into Penang because they lifted their restrictions. So it was no problem entering there. So when the Philippines FINALLY lifted their restrictions for the unvaccinated I returned to Manila on December 20. I had my Red QR code. When I landed I showed the girl my QR code and she took me to a room where I got my antigen test for 600p. No problem. So I am now in Pampanga finally. But all the airports I entered those months I never knew what was going to happen. So stressful 😁 but I am happy I made it. Thanks for all of your info and advice during those months. Keep up the good work. You are appreciated. Salamat po.

I too had the worst experience in Terminal 3 departure. There was no Express lane for OFWs and many of us had problems with oec or what not. Other than that, Staffs weren’t even helpful at all.

Please let your viewers know that if they have a connecting flight from Manila to another airport (such as Dumaguete) in the Philippines, when traveling to the Philippines from an outside country, they have to pick up their luggage at that terminal and RE-check the bag at the different terminal for domestic flights. You can take a taxi for a fee or ride a bus that's cramped with people for free to get to the other terminal. Once there, you have to re check your luggage bags again.

When I checked in here las vegas they don't ask for my vaccination card. (BTW I'm not vaccinated) .When I arrived in cebu they just ask for my arrival card. Maybe I'm just lucky that day not sooooo many passengers who arrived in cebu mactan Airport. Everything went well. They don't even ask for my negative results. I have to ask the people in there if they need my negative ptr test and they said "no need". Coming back in the USA all went well too.

Passengers going for cheaper and comfortable transportation, the P2P bus transporation. All of them can be found in terminal 3. Plus , it helps to prevent people from picking you up, avoid tolls and rental of a car or van to pick you up. Check on line all the P2P services for cities. Some goes to provinces and it is an express transportation. For example you live in Laguna, they have tagapo and Nuvali direct without stops, meaning it goes from terminal 3 to nuvali or tagapo and then just have someone pick you up from there or rent a jeepney. At least, cheaper and comfy. Now, if you arrive at Terminal 2, then there is a complimentary bus (free) I think it is white in color and it will bring passengers from any terminal but make sure you want terminal 3 coz that is the only terminal where passengers are served by P2P. They also serve SM clark or Clark International airport. Try it

Do we need to have a booster shot to go to Phillipines? Just so you won't have to go through the "atleast 48hrs" RT-PCR test? anybody can answer pls.

If you've had 2 shots (or 1 shot for J&J) then a booster shot isn't required. You also won't need a pre flight test.

Has HM Transport resumed bus service from Terminal 3 to Taft MRT/LRT? Also, is there NAIA shuttle service once again between the 4 terminals? Both HM and the NAIA shuttle were operating before the Pandemic.

    Hey Jennifer.
    Arriving AirAsia from Malaysia.
It looks like we will have two problems.
First being Foreign Passport holders (so maybe best to go to the toilet in the plane and walk quickly to the immigration hall!)
Secondly we have a transfer to the Old Domestic terminal with one case. (We have 3.5 hours so hopefully long enough). Using Grab seems logical but finding the car not easy. The transfer bus looks horrible and crowded. Any suggestions please?

Besides having all the required documents ready, what helped us get through the process without any issues was getting a porter. He told us where to go, picked up our luggage, loaded them on the car, etc. We gave him $10, which was so worth it.

I rarely use NAIA as it was usually chaotic. It is good to know that the Philippines is now embracing modern technology. I just hope that the Government is very careful regarding arrivals from China. The thought of lining up with Chinese nationals coming from mainline Chine where the virus is still a big problem is rather worrying.

Traveling to the Philippines is very easy now in comparison to back in April 2022. I have been there in April, July and November. The only problem I faced was on my last trip at the end of November. On my flight back home (Hawaii), NAIA changed departure and arrival terminals to terminal 1 starting on December 1st. I was unaware of this change and was dropped off at terminal 2 like usual and had to find another taxi to take me to terminal 1 instead.
