i have made soooo many of these with stained glass. Its pretty simple, you can hand cut the glass to any shape you want. and put the shapes together to make designs, once the designs are finished you lay contact paper on the top and pick up the design. Then you place that in the bottom of the frame and pour the concrete on the top. once dry, you flip the mold out and remove the contact paper, perfectly flawless everytime and you dont need all that water and the brushing at all..the glass is perfectly sitting at the top all surrounded by concrete... You can do this with colored concrete and all sorts of shapes. they are called mosaic stepping stones.. your video was awesome, thanks,

@@christaahamer8235 it has a sticky side after you peel the protective paper off...can be used to line kitchen shelves. In this case...you use the sticky side to pick up your mosaic design, then lay glass side up in the bottom of your concrete form. Pour the concrete on top, let set, flip it over, & your mosaic is revealed after removing the contact paper.

I love your videos! I live in the area and it's fun to see your projects. I think both stepping stones are wonderful, both really "pop" and say WOW! I prefer the all-over coverage because it doesn't matter what you put on it it will be visible and dazzle the eyes. It would be a good stepping stone to support a pot without losing the color burst dazzle. The swirl is a good accent stepping stone without a pot on it, like a beautiful burst of happy color.

Hey David, handy tip for glass on projects like this. If you break up your own glass, you can tumble it in a cement mixer with sand to knock off the sharp edges safely. Then sieve the glass out of the sand.

Very cool. I like the full cover one. Loving the broken colored glass pieces used. For another type usage of small glass pieces, I used the round bubble look glass pieces on my bathroom wall with caulking. It makes it look like bubbles are moving up the wall, in different sizes, some have mother of pearl look. Maybe could use them in concrete stepping stones as well. They come in different colors at Michaels Craft stores and some at Dollar General. Thanks for sharing your project, very interesting.

I love Odell's work and the fact he has a moderate attitude with it.
Also, he can get down on his knees and not make it look uncomfortable!
Those pavers are really something by design and could serve many uses, such as a private home memorial for any deceased loved one. Maybe add a stone glass initial as suggested. Or maybe just to place a pot and bunch of flowers when you can't make a visit to the grave or cemetary.

the homestead of my grandparents, they poured cement steps and walkway to the front doorway late 1920's. The house was built before 1900, No running water and indoor toilet.(outhouse out by the backdoor). Fond memories of my childhood. The built a brand new house closer to the road. And in the sidewalk, Gramma pushed antique marbles with the date the cement was poured with the hand prints of the babies. The marbles always bright and shiny. One of the grandkids asked for the piece with all the marbles, when they decided to tear the house down. Today you'd never know there had been a house there. All the outbuildings torn down, and tiled the natural spring that ran clear, cool and clean all year round.

Glass is kind of strange, its almost a liquid. Over time any sharp edges will dull down. In this case though, he specifically mentions using tempered glass. Commonly called safety glass. It breaks into squares not sharp shards so its a bit harder to cut yourself. I think being in concrete also offers a layer of protection because not enough of any rare sharp edge is exposed to cut into your skin. What I mean is your foot is supported either side by the concrete so the glass cant really cut you

I know I was peeing my pants. And nobody seemed to have caught it. I mean even the camera guy or for that matter anyone around that just heard what he was saying. Love the fact I'm not the only one. Reminds me of bridal showers when someone just starts writing comments of things she heard and then reads it all at the end. Hillarious stories. Who knew lol great job though loved it. I have a question I have been messing around with those planters made with old Jean's/shorts. They never say no matter how times they were asked what the ratio is. It's really smooth I've tried everything and seems to come out like dry and peeling.

Don't worry about those glass shards on the lawn, I'll find them with my bare feet later.

I Like these instructions. I need a new sidewalk in my front yard, and I'm looking at this as a great intensive for a smart looking sidewalk - or pathway. I might make them bigger, but it's better than buy and lugging home those 2x2 pieces of heavy cement. I am past 70, and this looks like a great creative idea for me. Hopefully it will keep me sane in this crazy world today. Thank you so very much for sharing your video.

Superb! Thanks for all the detail information you included, that is super helpful. I have an old cut-glass stepping stone that is crumbling. It has a sun-in-splendor design, and now i might use this technique to make a new one!

I like the all covered one. Wow, that really came out pretty. The trick is patience, I thought it would dry too much, so thank you for showing this video.

I did this with green cement and green tumbled glass on my sidewalk entry to a red brick winged wall stairway with clear glass stair risers, (2 ) round glass columns (1 on each side of entry that lights up RGB)and black slate stair treads. My brick layer is a true artist and man !!! we just started sealing it all with Ghostshield 4400 high gloss wet look. They gaurentee it wont discolor glass in walkway. The risers on the winged stairs are made of solid glass block. It will light up as well in RGB . Hats off to Trevor Moore. He made my dream come true. A total 1 off jaw dropping entry to my home !
