@@tincoeani9529 it's a substitute for a high school degree in the U.S. So, if you drop out of school, you can get your GED instead. It's a common term in the States.

It isn’t infinite, you shift up and down throughout a race. Just because you don’t seem them shift each time doesn’t mean they are constantly shifting up.

The writers are the best parents. They ask their 6 year olds for story and 13 yr old for action sequence and just make movie out of it.

@Deja Vu A GED is what you get when you drop out of high school instead of a diploma. Generally, getting a GED is considered "less than" getting a high school diploma, tho both are equal (just most colleges won't thinks so), and it has a certain reputation for being for stoners, lazy people, the stupid, etc.
@Deja Vu hey no problem. I know a fee people who dropped out of HS, then went and got their GED and did pretty good in life.
Of course, I've also know some complete failures who barely got their GED, so...🤷♀️

This movie came out my sophomore year of high school, and immediately every male threw a loud exhaust, giant spoiler, and underbody lights on whatever POS car he drove. Those were really dark years. :(
Sounds like they were quite bright to me. One might even say it was lit.
Far worse is what the movies did to the prices of those cars.
Those were the best years of my life. I would go back there right now if I could.
They made the Underglow illegal in my State.
On automatic cars too.
The first one had character, a good plot, and heart.
Now, the Fast series is just an empty spectacle of its former self.

@Meta Man The franchise has changed over the film series. Instead of just a underground car racing series,it turned into a super hero franchise by part 7. Some hated that change. I and others loved where the series has gone. But the franchise has always been about family and it always will.

He's the kind of actor who needs someone making him act. If he doesn't have someone there he degenerates into lazy mumbling. Self directing doesn't work for some people.
He said in an interview with Craig Ferguson that what he really wanted to make was a film about the Roman-Punic Wars and every Fast Furious film was another step closer to being able to do that, he's probnably realised now that he's never going to be able to make the film he wants too and just keeps showing up for the paycheck

You know he just started out wanting to be an ordinary street racer who stole truckloads of electronics but then he started getting involved in all these crazy adventures but the craziest part is he kept surviving.

Chris Morgan wrote #2 - #8. They have new writers for #9 and it really seems that the new wrtiers just read all fast and furious memes and put them into this movie. #9 is seriously the most ridiculous and over the top. It's probably the worst one. Only saving grace is Justin Lin (Fast and Furious 3-6, Star Trek Beyond) His action scenes are phenomenal.
Paul Walker was such a beautiful man. So heartbroken that his life was cut short.
Also sad about his death but still mad about him dating underage girls while having a daughter about the same age.

@Roberto Vidal Garcia The modified car culture was massive in the UK, Japan and US in the 2000's (Max Power, Fast Ford, Fast Car mags) before this film even came out. This got released due to it being a big thing, then the insurance market killed off people buying hot hatches and modifying cars.

Surprised Michael Bay hasn't directed a Fast & Furious movie, especially one of the later ones. Think about: fast cars, explosions, half naked women, more cars, product placement (Dom and his FAMILY only drink Corona), zero plot or character development, OTT action sequences (including more explosions) … kinda like Transformers

You know what's funny is the ending of the second Mission Impossible film was supposed to be a car/motorcycle chase through the streets of Sydney but they scraped that idea and made it take place out in the country because they realized no one would ever believe Sydney's streets would be clear enough to allow a car chase like that.
In LA, directions are given in time, not distance... because distance is irrelevant...
