Thanks for another inspiring video. I never would have considered using book pages as the substrate for the journal cover. I plan on trying this some time. Likewise stitching the piece for the closure is something I definitely will be doing. I love the final product. I appreciate your reminder to work in "baby steps". As I am new to this style, I am definitely taking your suggestion to heart. I'm striving for a happy medium point between art journal ing and junk journaling as I work out my style. Your videos are helpful. Thank you.

I love using Amazon packaging, my favourite is the smooth chipboard envelopes. This turned out great, I've also seen people leave the flap on to make a great closure. Lol I'm the same with glue guns, Tina can use it on pearls and gems!💖

I keep seeing others getting that great packaging. I order stuff and it in a plastic bubble wrap mailer. Of course I use them to hold "stuff", but the cardboard packaging would be so great!!!! Your cover is WONDERFUL!!!!!

I like to add acrylic paint to my gesso when doing backgrounds. Burnt Sienna or Raw Sienna are my two favorite pigments to use. I've also used drops of acrylic ink to color my gesso. That way you are not left with such a stark white, and it gets the page/cover/whatever started in the right direction.

A beautiful collage has bee a difficult birth. I hear your pain. At least it tells me not to get discouraged; I try to be patient; I do not see what the end of the art looks like until it is finished. You do inspire. Another incredibly helpful tutorial. Hi Barbara! I thought of this the moment you applied your first splash with the black paint. Before you put down any, apply your first splash that contains the most paint on a separate piece of scrap paper, thus avoiding that annoying whoopsie. Hahaha! Love the cover. Veronica x

How Barbara? ...just HOW??? How do you do this? This is gorgeous and each time you were "done" I was amazed. You just know, y' know?
When I was first discovering the JJ world there was one statement - I have no idea who said it - but it was, "When your cover (or tag or pocket... whatever...) is finished, add one more thing and THEN its finished. It was then I felt like I'd found my long list family.

I love how relaxing your videos are your voice is so soothing and your work is amazing! I need to put all those Amazon pkg’s to work for me. Me and Amazon are great friends! Lol. I decided to join The Digital design club. I added up all the money I’ve spent on digitalis and found that this would save a ton of money. The digitalis are Beautiful! I have so many journals I want to make so this is really a great bargain.

amazing. I love the way her eyes seem to pop after you added the black shadow around your layers. This was awesome to watch.
This turned out great. Up-cycling is my jam. It's always a good idea to step away from a project and come back to see it with a fresh set of eyes and I love how you kept adding more detail to it. The black splatters gave it that little bit of grunge it needed. Love it!

I love the layers on your cover. You're better with the glue gun than I am. I always end up with glue strings everywhere. Tfs.
Thank you! I have the same problem with my small glue gun and I’m starting to think it depends on the glue gun. I just bought a new one (haul video coming up 😃) and it doesn’t seem to be doing that.
