I really really appreciate you sharing all the struggles with the closure and showing us that you never gave up or settled. You kept at it, getting even more creative, until you were happy. Love that about you 💜
Thank you Amy! ❤️
What a wonderful journal. So different from others I have seen you do but just beautiful. It makes me happy to look at it. I appreciate the way you take your viewers with you when you work through any problems. This is so helpful. Nothing is better than learning from the experience of doing. You have a way of taking us with you so that we can learn with you. Thank you Barbara for all that you do.
Thank you so much! ❤️
I love when you laugh at yourself!
Your paper bag / grocery bag / envelope journals are my favorite, because they are 'simple' (meaning not complicated, but not minimizing your amazing ability to transform them) and fun to make a gifts. I am currently a student and money is tight, but your with your tutorials I can make a lovely gift for my friends - thank you for sharing.
Thank you! So happy these videos are inspiring! ❤️
I absolutely love you & everything you create!!!! Im in love with the style of your artwork!! This journal is gorgeous!!! I love using paper bags for my covers. Ive been making junk journals since a small child. Lol it was one of the only ways to have a journal back in the 80s & 90s if your parents didn't buy you one.....theyd give you old books, paper bags & paint ect. & we literally called them junk journals. Now I'm working on journals for my granddaughters, the same colors & also butterflies. I thought of putting handles on them & then came across this video!!! Perfect!! Thank you so much for all your videos!!!! Your an amazing artist!!!! 🙏🩷✌️
Aaaaw thanks so much! Amazing how long you have been crafting journals! 👍🏻❤️😃
I think you needed to turn your magnet over and then they’ll stick not oppose.
I love the cover with the addition of the small colorful butterflies. Totally love the out come of this journal/handbag
Love the idea, the color the total outcome of the journal. And that you show never give up if things don't turn out the way you want. There is always a solution. Thanks🌷
Thanks ZoraMae! I just can’t let it go until I’m happy with the result 😊
Barbara, you needed to turn the magnet the other way round. They do work, they are really strong even through paper. Loved the journal!!
I love your cover!! The magnits you had it reverse in adding the glue. I also had that one time! Every magnet has a + an -side. And only + and - will click. If you rverse one and you have + and + it will not click! And also if wou want to use magnets for closer you can hide them between the papers before you saw them! I really love how you eventually fixed the problem!!
Thank you Clasina for your tips! Sometimes my mind draws a blank when I’m filming 🙄😂❤️
Turned out beautifully. It looks like a fun evening clutch bag!!
Love the addition of the colorful butterflies!
This is the cutest journal you’ve ever done! My favorite part is that it’s recycled art! There is always so much fun to be had after watching you create something. I literally look forward to Tuesdays and Thursdays to watch your videos! Thank you! 🦋🦋🦋🦋
Aaaw thank you Annita! ❤️
One word,- GORGEOUS!
Carol from California,USA
your magnet was just on backwards i think this is a wonderful video dear
Beautiful! I love making journals from grocery bags. It is very addictive. TFS!
Hi Barbara:
Your vision is so amazing! To watch the creative process in your projects is so much fun. Love the handles and cover. Of course, we all have glitches, but work through it. And you did a great job of that. Thank you for your tutorials. 💜😎
Thanks so much Joanne! ❤️
It looks like a cute little evening bag. Love it!!!!
I love this idea ... Such a novel idea! I love that the handles wern't wasted.
I would of never thought that a brown grocery bag could be so beautiful 🤩 . Thank you for sharing for sharing .
PS... The handles make it so unique and I love it! 💗
Love how this turned out! Beautiful! For the future..every magnet has a positive and negative side..you were trying to put to negative or two positive together, that is why they wouldn't stay closed! Love your videos watch them all! Hugs!
Thanks so much Connie! I should have figured that out with the magnets! 😂🙄
Too funny I was just about to post that about the magnets but wanted to see if anyone else did. I was over here saying....turn the magnets around the other way!! Still came out awesome tho!
@@ImGinaMarie sometimes my brain goes blank when I’m filming and I see it then when I edit the video 😃
@@49dragonflies we all have that!! Its good to see others making mistakes too, that way we all feel human! Love your work!!
My answer was yes to the small butterflies. They look great - good choice.
This is a different style but I love the result. Love your cover. Thanks for showing us different ways to do journals.
I just love your new journal and the cover came out BEAUTIFUL. It is amazing how one can change a simple paper bag into a work of art. I can hear it in your voice that you were trilled on the out come of your journal. Congratulations on another amazing journal.
Thanks so much! Yes, I’m very happy with this one! So much that you will see another one soon! 😃❤️
Thanks for sharing about losing video footage. It happened to me twice in March. 😩 Good to know even experienced video makers still make mistakes too and yet go on sharing and creating. ❤️ I love the handles almost as much as hearing you laugh with joy at them!
Thank you! Yes, of course I make mistakes all the time 😃
Wow, Barbara, what a journey you just took us on! I'm absolutely gonna try this type of cover soon! Once again, you had me on the edge of my seat!
i can’t believe how gorgeous this is! the colors, the butterflies, the handles, all the things. fabulous!
Thanks so much! ❤️
Love that you are sharing different styles! And I think the handles were a super cute idea!!!
I love the idea of using a grocery bag as a journal cover! I. Definitely going to try one. Gillian British Columbia Canada. I travelled to Austria in 2017 and loved it and the people.
Thanks Gillian! How nice that you were here! I have been to BC twice and fell in love! I wanted to emigrate there actually but things worked out differently...
SUPER CUTE!! Love the color.
I love listening to your thought process and your giggles when you are talking. You are my inspiration with my new hobby!
SO inspirational! What a clever clever girl you are! I love it!😍
Thanks so much! ❤️
I love the paint and colors in this journal! I have a four year old granddaughter that would love to see it filled with mermaids - she is obsessed! Such a great idea. I've made paper bag journals before but never painted them. I can tell that I just may be moving into a slightly messier medium!
Thanks Robin! I hope you do give it a try! It really feels like leather 😊
Love it when you experiment gives us so much inspiration. Love the butterflies on the front and the smaller ones you added just finished the whole look. Xxx
It is soooo pretty, I love the colours, I love butterflies and in love the sound of this journal. I'm think I need to create one!
Thank you! Have fun with this! 😃❤️
Yes, I thought you had one magnet the wrong way, but it looks great the way you ended up doing the closure. Love the butterflies too! Thankyou for sharing, take care and stay safe xx
This is so pretty! I love the shimmering metalic cover. The butterflies are gorgeous and the color one are perfect.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE everything about this journal...you blew me away!!! The cover is absolutely GORGEOUS & all of the STUNNING butterflies (including throughout the pages)...I'm AWESTRUCK!!!❤🦋❤🦋❤
Thanks so much Debbie! ❤️
Very shiny, colorful, and creative design....😻
Opposites attract! The journal is beautiful 💙
WOW, what a lovely journal. the paper bag looks unrecognizable. Absolutlely gorgesso!!!!! Love the squishy sound it makes when you handle it. Think I should give it a try, I do have similar bags here at home. Thank you Barbara for all you do for us, your inspiration and sharing of your amazing talents. Many Blessings and hugs from Cape Town. Diana
Thank you Diana! I really hope you try this. It really feels like leather once it’s painted. So fun! Enjoy! 😃❤️
Love this journal, Barbara! Butterflies are one of my favorites to create with.
You mentioned fairies, then you used those pretty colors. Since I have a fairy journal on my list, I think I may just do it using a bag, and those beautiful colors!
Love all of your videos! And the fact that you don't edit out your trials and errors, makes you a real joy to watch!
Thanks for the FUN....and also, for always giving us so much inspiration!! 💟
Big Hugs 🦋 Suzy
Thank you Suzy! You are right, this style would make a fun fairy 🧚♀️ journal! Have fun with it! ☺️❤️
You are brave. Fearless. And the turn out is awesome!
Thank you! ❤️
This is a beautiful journal, and I love to hear you laugh! Creating should bring us joy in the process!
absolutely gorgeous!!! So much fun to watch you create this!!!
Love this cover ... I am a huge fan of butterflies and dragonflies ... xxx xxx
Omg! This is so gorgeous! I loved it! So much! Thank you for sharing, Barbara! ♥️♥️♥️
Gorgeous! That's my favorite color and love butterflies. Always inspired by your style. I love that you give credit to other artists when you "marry " their style with yours. I'm always happy that you show your struggles and your success at the end. It turned out perfectly. And your cute laugh throughout the video is my favorite. 🥰
Aaaaw thank you so much for your kind words! ☺️❤️
I truly love this journal! I do have to say that I was screaming at the screen about the magnets. Lol! All's well that ends well, as we say in the states.
Awww so fun! I love the colors.
So love this.Full to the brim with inspiration, also love your sense of humour.Great Fun.
Everything about this journal is so gorgeous. Great video as always. Thanks for sharing with us!
Thanks so much Deidra! ❤️
Absolutely lovely 😍
Nadia may have used a padded mailing envelope covered with material. They make a lovely padded cover. I love watching your projects everything you make is lovely ❣️
Fabulous idea👍
Thank you! Yes, you might be right! 😊
That color is so yummy. You're right it would be perfect for a mermaid journal. The iridescent butterfly theme works just as well though. I really like the closure you ended up with. The gear is such a great idea. This is a beautifully inspired journal.
Barbara, when you glued your magnets on you glued them south to south or north to north. They have to be north to south to be magnetic!!!!!! Like poles will repel each other as you saw in your video!!!! It would have worked so beautifully if you would have just turned one of your magnets over!!!!!! Your journal is GORGEOUS!!!! I love the painting technique and the way you used a butterfly in the center of each signature!!!!!!
Yaaa same
Thanks Betty! ❤️
I love this journal, it was very unexpected. I really like the mixing of both your styles
Thank you so much! ❤️
You are a magician !
Absolutely gorgeous! I love love love the cover. The clr is brilliant and the Butterflies are gorgeous 💗
Beautiful journal
Beautiful covers and inside color...! Wow! You are real artist.
Thank you so much! ❤️
I love the cover. And the new ideas.
Really beautiful. This has inspired me to work with a grocery bag again. My first one was a leather look one by scrunching and using oxide colour covered with mod podge. Thank you.
Thanks! Yours sounds amazing as well! 👍🏻😃
Just beautiful. Love the butterflies. TFS
Its beautiful. So clever. Thank you for the video.
It's so beautiful, Barbara! I adore how you recycled the bag handles! They make your journal look like a little purse, such a cute and fun idea! Love the colour too! I am one who enjoys colour so this is right up my alley! The butterflies are beautiful! This is such an impressive journal, well done!
Thanks so much! So happy you enjoyed this! ☺️❤️
This is so lovely
Yes The magnets are + and - so you have to get them the right way around
I also had the same problem at first
I do not seem to lean towards the junky type journals but this is truly something Id like to try
🇦🇺🌺❤️
Very beautiful. The dollar tree has stronger magnets which might work. You could even put it in between the layers in the cover!! I LOVE THE HANDLES!!
Thank you! ❤️
Beautiful colors, what a neat idea! Thank you for sharing. 😍
I love the metallic butterflies and cover!!!
Love the cover. The colors are really pretty. You kept going until you got what made you happy. Thanks for sharing
Your magnet was upside down. If you put the two magnets together and colour with a sharpie it will leave a make but they will only stick together in one direction - they then oppose each other 😊
I love the butterfly’s! They’re beautiful!
Beautiful love your butterflies
Oh my gosh, I love, love, love this so much. Absolutely beautiful, lovely idea for stitching in the butterfly in the centre of the signature too. Hope you had a wonderful Easter x
Thanks Tina! Something a bit different 😃 Wishing I will see you tomorrow for your Premier! 😃❤️🥰
I love all your work! This has been super fun to watch and see all your tricks of the trade 😉 Thank you for all you do for us newbies!
Thanks Annie! It’s my pleasure to share my passion! I hope it’s contagious ☺️❤️
Wow, Barbara! The cover is reminiscent of a vintage, upscale clutch, ready to accompany you to a cocktail party! Fun!! 💜
Haha thanks Lynn! I guess I will be taking it to a virtual cocktail party 😃❤️
This is beautiful! You have a wonderful creative mind. I love, love this journal!
Thank you so much! ❤️
Absolutely beautiful!! You are crazy talented!!
Thanks Brenda! Not talented, just passionate ☺️❤️
@@49dragonflies You do seem to be passionate. But, I still think you are super talented!! The combinations you come up with and the imagination it takes to think up the things you come up with... that takes more than passion. It takes creative ability and talent. In my humble opinion!! 💖
So funny...I actually did the handle idea on one of my journals...an inspirational moment!! I loved it too!!!
Oh how fun! 😃❤️
You are one surprise after the other. This is so pretty 🦋!!
Paper bags is my favs , maybe that’s weird but I love them . Beautiful your work !
Cricket
Thanks! Not weird at all 😃
Love that patina look.
Such a beautiful Journal, and it sounds so delicious.....gorgeous!❤️🙋🏻🐨🦘🌻💐🌹
Thank you! ❤️
Oh my! This is gorgeous! I love the butterfly theme! 🦋 I have lots of paper bags. But no die cut machine....however, I have a friend who does.... TFS🤗
Oh my goodness! I have just made my first ever 'paper bag junk journal' cover, and I am over the moon!! Thank you! (I know I'm using a lot of exclamation marks, but I'm honestly so happy). I followed almost all of your initial 'steps' - the paper bag, gesso, and metallic paint (gold instead of turquoise) and then I branched out to include one of my most favourite pieces of card stock, and some sari silk from a beloved skirt that I have been hoarding for years. I'm going to call it my 'Summer' journal - yes, that might seem odd in November, but I live in New Zealand. 😊 Thank you again for such beautiful inspiration and easy to follow instructions. ❤
That makes me so happy! Enjoy your summer journal! 😃❤️
@@49dragonflies 😊❤
WOW... I got shocked when I saw the vibrant metallic colours you used.... but, at the end the whole book became a miracle. You have such a good taste. Love it!! Thank you!
This was such an amazing process to watch 🥰 thank you for sharing
Hi dear Barbara
Hope you are doing great!
You are spectacularly talented and amazing😊..you do everything so well..your videos are a treat!😄
Wow! 🤩 absolutely stunning Barbara 🤩💙💐
Maybe her cover is an amazon paper package that has the packaging bubbles attached to the inside. The magnets do work with each other, you just had to turn it over. I love what you've done with this journal. Its gorgeous.
I appreciate that you fumble with your stuff on camera like a real person would. Beautiful journal cover.
The card stock butterflies really makes it sing!
That is one of a kind journal Barbara, just beautiful. I've been thinking of that bag-style journal for a long time, I must have transmitted my thoughts to you, heheheh. And I think I know why you didn't like the first butterflies you cut from the paper pad, it's because they didn't have any veins in them, they were too plain. Anyway, this rough-paper style journal is sooo cool. I'd love to see some more. Thank you.
Thank you Stella! Apparently ideas need to be realized so since you didn’t do it, it came to me! 😃❤️ And I have more coming up very soon! ☺️
If you flip the front magnet over it should work.
Turned out great! I giggled right along with you when you were talking about it looked to shiny to come from a grocery bag.
Gorgeous! Who would’ve thought that was once a paper grocery bag. Loving the metallic shimmer!
Best cover ever - I so love it ! 💕
Aaaaw thank you! ❤️☺️
Beautiful ☺️ I love this journal. It is absolutely gorgeous
