12 fret, fan fretted (66.5-64.5) Dreadnought guitar with a walnut fretboard, German spruce over rosewood and wenge bridge. @gmrupcycling
Enjoy. - Zábava
This is by far my favorite one you've designed. It has a warm, natural but modern look. Everything just stands out and accents itself perfectly! Thank you for sharing. Can you let me take this one home!?! Please??😊
Tolle Arbeit! Die Lustigen Taschenbücher im Hintergrund machen auch sehr sympathisch. :D Danke für das Video.
Elégance et justesse.❤
Elegance and accuracy.
I always enjoy your videos.
God bless you always.
And your fields, I love it.
Especially when the job is well done and you are sure of yourself?🎉
Class act. I am a amateur build builder and learn something new Everytime. Thank you.
Hey there, Mark. The same goes for me. Cheers, Gabi.
Hi Gabrieli, you are an amazing Luthier and your build quality and sound of your instruments is beautiful to say the least. I have just discovered your channel and It is has been a real inspiration for myself to actually aspire to begin the process of learning how to actually build a guitar so thank you. And a breathe of fresh air to see you do guitar builds with a quality evenly matched to the best Luthiers with equipment and power tools that can be assessable to beginner builders, cheers Gabrieli.

I have become a big fan of you and your work.
Details you will tell me.
But when you spread a sheet of sopalin.Or that you violently dismiss a tool to move on?
I love that kind of detail.
It shows your accuracy and concentration.
Elegance as a bonus.!!!!!
truly inspiring work!!
Fantastic!
good job as usual thank's for posting
So nice
Well done Gabriela, excellent build xxx
What a fun build! As I watched: - oh that might not be good - then a little further and - oh wow, that is just so nice!! At 1:08:20 the dark bridge plate (with white), against the light top, and gold tuners on dark - yes I like that a lot!! At 52:10 how gorgeous the neck is - then 52:39 we get a great look at the contras between body and neck. Just another super build. I'm about 40 minutes from ringing in 2023 and your video is just such great way to spend the end of 2022!! Oh I Liked the Phosphor Bronze
Love to watch your craftsmanship nice guitar playing also thanks for posting
Genia!!!
I like your build guider sweet sound
Good Morning from Oregon, USA, another great one Gabriele, thank you. Love the way you get around binding the head stock.
Gurih👍
amazing
awesome craftmanship and the sound is great to my ears a+ your the cats meow with your skills .
Very instructive and fun to watch. Very nice effect when oiling the walnut fretboard; nice sound when fitting the tight bridge nut, simple yet cool-looking rosace. I like the way you avoid those expensive StewM files for the nut. Congratulations! I really appreciate your videos
Well, they would be even more expensive with shipping to Europe, tax and custom fees. ;-)
Amazing as always, I was so happy to come across your channel and I Absolutely love the rosette.. ingenious way of using scrap.
Also I spent 80% of the video thinking the frets looked far straighter than any fan fretted guitar I had ever seen and then as soon as they were on the guitar it was like voila wonky frets 😄.
That's one your nicest sounding guitars. Love me some 12 fretters.
Your guitars always sound as if they have "opened up" overnight. Great stuff!
The Phosphor Bronze sounded warmer and more engaging. Beautiful build - you are very talented to build such an array of guitar types.
Great build and video!
Hey Chris, I see your build is going on well as well. :-)
exactly what I would want if I commissioned a guitar (not gonna happen). I have a 14th fret multiscale modified dreadnought, torrefied Sitka over Malaysian Blackwood
nice madam..
maravilhoso parabéns
You've built a beautiful guitar. I prefer the old style. (Of course that's what I've played all these years.) However, just because I may not like something, doesn't mean another person is wrong, for liking something else. I've always thought, if every one, on earth, liked the same things, music, food, clothing, etc, what a boring world this would be. I prefer 14 fret necks as well. Started out on 12 fret necks, but you can't go past the octave. Anyway, as I said, I like what I like, some one else like what they like. I'll take the standard style guitar, it's worked well for 300 yrs, with a few improvements. But that's what I'm used to.
By the way, I saw a jig a fellow made for doing the fret board radius. Very simple little jig, yet so much faster than sanding the wood. It's Ewor Guitars. He's A small builder, but the idea is genius in my opinion. Again another beautiful guitar. My little one will want to watch this video for sure. (Her 8th birthday is very soon. She calls me almost daily to give me the "countdown". 😂😉)

What is the broom used for?
You are so precise that there must not be many chips.!😊
Fantastic work as per usual. I also think you need to invest in a budgie or two, get a trio started, maybe finches. "The finches" sounds cooler!😉
I'd love to see a semi-acoustic electric produced by you
Hey there, most likely I won't do that, sorry. But I was given an archtop as a repair gift the other day. I might work on that...
@@GabiM3112 I suppose it would be a whole new kettle of fish, however a repair would still be cool to see.
Hey there, I could do that but I'm just not so much into electric guitars. I do own a considerable number of them but don't feel there could be any addition to my "collection" tonewise and I don't use them so often since my band days are over, so I have no use for more electric guitars.

Hey Gabi, by watching all these lovely guitar building videos, I switch by chance to your chanel. Chapeau! I'm very impressed. Even that I have not a bit of a clue of building guitars, I see you craft skills and a very good sounding instrument. I'm watching all these videos, because I would like to give it a try as well. Mabe you can give an advice where we can buy here in Germany good tonewood. Or where you buy it? Greet from Fehmarn, Holger
Hi there, Holger. This is where I get most of my wood from: edelholzhandel.com/product-category/tonewood-tonholz they have an ebay shop as well. Good luck with your first build.
Another lovely sounding and looking guitar, although I’m not sure what the advantage is to a multi-scale. My barring finger points towards the body, but with a fab-fret it would have to bend the other way!
I don't know what it is. Strangely, though, it is easier and feels easier with the fanfrets. Paticularly some things in the upper frets are easier to reach and stretches are not as uncomfortable, at least not with my small hands.
@@GabiM3112 I think one of the advantages is when using drop D and drop C and DADGAD tunings, the strings don't get too floppy from the lack of tension. Other than that I'm not sure. Martin Simpson had one built for him by taran guitars.
Hi Gabriele your work is beautiful thanks for sharing it in such detail! Your workflow and overall set of techniques seem really well thought out and efficient.
I was wondering if you could share how you got started in this from a knowledge perspective, or if you have any recommendations for a specific book or instruction material for others with woodworking experience wanting to get started in building guitars. I see a lot of mixed reviews online about certain instructional books being incomplete or teaching non-standard guitar designs
Hi there, well I watched a video on CZcams of someone building a guitar from scrap wood, the so called Scrapnought (czcams.com/video/fDMrcG9zt6Y/video.html) and I thought, why not give it a go and I built my first "guitar" from scrap wood I had (like legs of picknick tables etc.). This took me half a year and I learnt a lot from that.
Then I watched real luthiers build their guitars online, my first video was the one of Goodall Guitars (czcams.com/video/gS78naDiB4k/video.html). I read a book (sorry, unfortunately in German) and just started building my first real guitar from tonewoods (if there is such a thing ;-)). It turned out pretty nicely and so I continued, trying out different things and different materials.
These days Chris Alvarado's channel (Driftwood guitars: czcams.com/channels/xCp0SN53j6SIx9z8uWbg-w.html) is really great and he expalins well what he does, so that could be a guideline as well. Thank you Chris.
For my next build I'm changing my ways about certain things and steal his technique. ;-)
All in all: just get started. If you can do some woodwork and are not all thumbs, then just try it out. Actually it's not that difficult because basically it's just cutting and glueing wood.
Good luck with your start.
Thank you for the detailed reply!
Your workplace is always so clean, it's amazing! And the guitar is awesome☺Sounds so bright!
If I understood correctly, fretboard is glued to the top deck but neck itself is not glued in?
Yes, you are right.

"Chubby Chicken Union representative on line 3.."
It will get another chance. :-)
Muchas gracias
Hi, there. There's literature out there to find information on how much you need to compensate. I read it up for nylon guitars but don't remember exactly how much it was.
Is that bridge at an angle? Looks like it but guitar saddle is okay, just looks a bit "off"" . Sounds great.
Is it part of the fan fret build?
Hey, Terry, they both are at an angle due to the multiscale of course. Cheers.
Hi, Gabby!
I see you are using the Dremel Circle cutter to cut the Rosette channel. Do you use the Dremel bits, and if so, which ones, and can this tool also cut the rosette itself. Thanks
Hi there,
I cut the wooden ring for my rosettes with the dremel, too. I'll have a video somewhere showing how I make rosettes that I may upload in time.
@@GabiM3112 thank you very much
Looking forward to this Gabi.
Additional soundhole directed at player?
Sorry, not for this one. I don't do that on dreadnoughts since they are more strummers than pickers to me and for strumming I don't need the monitor.
@@GabiM3112
Love your vids & work ethic as well as superb results.
Hope you can make a basement or extention to house future Guitars !
That is becoming a problem, indeed. Maybe I need to give away some of my guitars to make room for new ones.
Gabriele, have you ever considered making a guitar from colourful clothespins? I tried with wooden ones, but painting them was so time-consuming.
Hey there, no I havent but for painting the wooden ones, I simply would throw them into a glass of wood dye of different colours. And I see them more go into an electric guitar I guess. ;-)
Good evening from Indonesia..great Job..
Any way..how long average time you need to finishing a guitar...tks..
Normally next to work about two to three weeks. If I'm not working, then about one and a half weeks.
Wow...so, you made it base on order or just your collection?
Any way ..I like your video
@@nagastudio-antoniussinaga976 Both.
Is there any particular reason that you do bolt on necks and not dovetailed?
Yes, it's easier, stable and I could remove the neck more easily if I ever had to.
Hi what make is your drill press please it seems compact.
It's a "Stahlwerk" mini drill press, normally used by model builders.
I wonder what cut you do to the braces, it seems curved... I also wonder if the X-brace carving is personal practice. Keep up, you're doing well!!! What is the Finger picking tune you play at 1:06? thank you
Hey there, it's "Man in the mirror".
Oh, and the cut is for rough radiusing the braces to their respective radius since the top and bottom are not flat but 40'' and 15''. I then make them perfectly flush in the radius dish in which I sand them.
👏👏👏👍🥰🇬🇧🍷🌹
are those carbon fiber rods you are using for the gobar?
Fibreglass arrows.
@@GabiM3112 thank you 😊
What did she spray on that fretboard that was white before cutting the fret slots
Just colour to see the fine lines better against the dark backgound of the fretboard.
But what was the product you sprayed on the neck so you could see the lines better
I guess it sands off
@@thomasjones4120 Just some white spray paint
I' like to try building an acoustic in the future
I've only built electric ones so far
Check out my channel and any comments and criticisms the leave a comment
I'll see you in the competition this year ~ i built a double neck for last years
Hm, we'll see about the competition. As I said, I feel it's more for electric builders and acoustic guitars are, well, not electrics. ;-) I'll check out you channel, though. Good luck.
@@GabiM3112 You won't de the first i don't think that has built an acoustic. In fact , did you not build one last year?
And it's more about a community coming together and seeing what each other is up to how, we do things different; sharing experience and helping each other out etc.
You never know, if you are the only one building an acoustic then that alone might win you something cause it would be in a different catagory.
But if you're still not sure then you can always get in touch with their office and they will let you know if there is a place for acoustics too but i'm sure you aren't the first
Let me know how you get on
@@GabiM3112 l still think you should just go for it and if nothing else will get you some more subscribers to your channel and that can't be bad, can it ;) 👍🖖
hello madam can i have one of your handcrafted guitar i can't afford to buy one for me pls
Can build use carbon fiber?
You mean for the trussrod? I have never done that but I don't see any reason why not. If you mean the guitar body, I strongly believe that it should be made out of wood.
like indonesian rosewood right??
Most likely Indian, but I'm not sure since I bought this from some guy who didn't specify what it was.
Не свисти денег не будит
No sound?!!!
Of course there is sound???
Lady you are too much.
