- Here goes the little sister of "The Eagle". Built from parts I had lying around. Body: most likely poplar, maple neck and fretboard.

Hi there Gabriel, I have made guitars for 59 years and although I was never trained as a guitar maker, I have been able to earn my living at it during these 59 years. I have made them to a different design and construction having the grain on the sound board going in the wrong direction, namely from side to side rather in the direction of the strings with the strain of the strings being carried by the struts, which travel either side of the neck passed the sound hole and under the bridge, before tapering down to nothing at the lower bout. This I find gives the guitars a better tone than the earlier guitars that I made which had a conventional ladder bracing. If you would like to hear three of my guitars being played then google "Charlie!ie watts of Frayed Knott and there you can read what he has to say about these guitars that he has bought of mine. I suffer from parkinsons disease which has brought my guitar making and playing to a halt unfortunately since parkinsons and a sircular saw don't realy mix and since I don't want to lose my fingers I felt that it was time to stop. I have an unfinished guitar which is even more radical than the cross grain guitars being made of 30 triangular pieces of cedar radiating from where the bridge will be. That's a Beautiful job You've Done there... I only wonder. If you aren't constrained by Four existing neck bolt holes. Why you didn't use the comfort Fender neck heel plate. I have that on my '89 Strat. And an extra from a Squire Showmaster .. so much more comfortable to play with the inset (offset) hole and rounded heel

Can I enquire as to what buffer number you use and what compound? I can't get my frets to look that good.
