I watched this at 2x speed and almost went back in time
Now do the same with the 1st part.of the super edit and you really will be.. here.
czcams.com/video/n5K993xtDos/video.html
B
I have shown this to everyone I know thank you for blowing our minds, subscribed
@@superkittybtc I second that, since you said it already...;-)
what a craftsman truely inspirational
Dude, I'm better off having watched that because it was art in fast forward.
This guitar looks awesome even without the added "armor", it is mesmerizing to watch you work.
Thank you Raul! B
I know right. That wood was absolutely gorgeous wasn't it? Wasn't crazy about the top piece that he made to match the bottom web thing. Because he put so much work and effort into layering the neck and head I think it's called. lol idk much about guitars. But I am a carpenter and I'm so jealous of this guys talent and the amount and tools. This is badass.
@@frankierzucekjr as a carpenter you too can build a guitar, some master builders of guitars can't play, but make awesome instruments so don't let anything hold ya back from trying.
@@darthanddedeu2580 hey thanks buddy. Maybe one day. Working on getting some of these awesome tools. I would try anything because you never know what you can do until you try. I have friends who play so maybe ill give it a shot one day and let them try it out
It looks awesome ESPECIALLY without the added armor
Anxiety attack ensued upon watching that free-hand drilling of the headstock for the tuning machines. WOW.. beautiful finish on the fretboard and great execution of your vision. Best of Luck!
I really should use a pillar drill (drill press) for that... habit though, and the drill press is a whole 2 or 3 meters away :/ thanks for watching in spite of the crazy! B
The quilted maple body looks really nice, the overlay looked like it took way more time and effort than it was worth but you did you did a really nice job on it.
You are too frugal to spend $100. Shut up. Delete your shit comment. F off.
As a tradesman, I can fully appreciate the levels of craftsmanship, dedication and ingenuity required to build something like this. This is absolutely incredible to watch from the sidelines and admire your skill. This is the “New Level” that Pantera was referring to!
I've never even held a guitar in my life but here I am, still watching this
Thank you! B
Go to the guitar store and mess around .
You don't have to be involved with guitars to appreciate this
You're missing out bro
There is a special place in my heart for overly complicated projects. Well done!
mine too.. oh yes indeed! I'm going to be building another version of this one very soon at that!
The level of precision and creativity is astounding. My life would actually feel complete if I had this beautiful guitar.
Is this the guy from Thor that says "behold...my stuff"
looks kinda like bill bailey lol
I swear it is haha
Karl Urban's more musically inclined brother.
Skurge with two M16?? 🤣🤣
Des and troy when you put it together???
That is one of the most fantastic things I have ever seen in my 62 years on this planet. It was like a religious experience. Wow!!! Thank you so much for sharing.
A student of mine asked me, why I'm convinced that humanity in itself is good and capable of great things. If I knew about your journey, I'd have shown this clip to her & *mike drop* Fantastic!
You made my day! B
That's what I call dedication to one's art. Utterly stunning craftsmanship.
THAT IS INSAAAAAANE! There must have been fifty times when I said, "NOW he's finished...great guitar"...and then you added more stuff! Absolutely incredible vision and level of craftsmanship.
hahaha exactly
This level of craftsmanship is simply obscene.
That's the most gorgeous fretboard I've ever seen in my life!
I know fuck all about guitars, but happened upon this and was transfixed by his skill, vision and artistry in making such a beautiful guitar. Its amazing what you can achieve when you let your creative mind wander. Outfuckingstanding Guitar building guru. And for all the many thumbs down, go and shake your fucking heads, this was a labour of love.
My sister actually bugged me into watching this. I don't play guitar, I don't own a guitar, I rarely listen to guitar music and I don't build things.
This was AWESOME. Man you're talented. And bold. And diligent AF. That guitar is a work of art!!
Just imagine how long it would’ve taken if there weren’t two of you building it?
Just when I thought it couldn't get any more detailed you go and add something new. Again, well done mate!
Ok I'm a furniture builder (Carpenter) and rarely comment on vids ,but sir you are a master craftsman! I tip my hat to you. Just amazing, words can't describe your work.
Quality guitar, quality video. Absolutely mezmerizing to watch, excellent work on both.
Very clever and accurate. He's a real artist
It hurt my heart when you were drilling holes in that beautiful wood.
As opposed to what? Gluing the bridge on?
@Mark Worley I wonder how the hair grows there. Maybe it also comes out tattooed
...do you not understand how things are like...made?
Drilling holes and accidently finding the drill coming out the back...
Absolutely Beautiful. A piece of real modern art. As a bench joiner myself I've always wanted to create a bespoke guitar myself. Inspired.
I don't know what's more complex, that guitar, or this guy's head tattoo.
The head tattoo looks like a series of bad decisions. Like the wings were ok, but then the biohazard thing was added, then the tribal triangle Viking design. What’s next, some Nintendo characters?
@@cosmic-fortytwo lmao
I think this video should be called "Just because you can doesn't mean you should"
Maybe changing that strings
@@cosmic-fortytwo ... Lol that's not biohazard symbol but a Celtic knots and they call it Triquetra.
NONE THE LESS YOU TRULY ARE AN OUTSTANDING WOOD WORKING MASTER CRAFTSMAN
And metal craftsman aswell. Holy wow the man is smart on coming up with ways on trying to get the custom bone looking casing to fit the guitar. This mans a genius
As woodworker myself, that was a pleasure to view. Thank you for documenting the process as you did. It was an unforgettable experience witnessing the creation of that true masterpiece. You sir, are a true master craftsman. Well done.
I almost had a heart attack when you started drilling into the face of your main body, seriously! My God man, what a work of art and the level of detailed craftsmanship is impeccable! Been a finish/rough carpenter/electrician/plumber and everything in between for 45 yrs and I for one....fully appreciate your commitment and skill level! Bravo!! Bella axe!
the work you did, the attention you paid to the details, your shear skill in the carving and wood work totally awesome. best random click I ever had. just amazing
I actually liked how long it took. It was like a television series and I couldn't wait to see the next week's episode! I've learned so much from your videos and it's helped me a lot in my building. Keep them coming. I'd love to see you coming up with a new body design and the template making process.
I had a great pleasure watching this amazing process of producing a musical instrument ( guitar).
I am aware of complicity of it. But couldn’t imagine it was done by one person possessing many
professional skills. GOOD JOB !
ABSOLUTELY, BEAUTIFUL CRAFTSMANSHIP!!! AND, the wood for the body and fretboard, is amazing!!!
AMAZING!!! TOTALLY AMAZING. The sound coming from it in my opinion is rhythm and blues. I just pictured the great B.B King bringing out the elegance of this unique instrument and baptizing it in the name of rhythm, blues and soul baby, hallelujah! Praise the blues, AMEN!
Man! What a gorgeous guitar. Tremendous skills.
Thank you, that would be a highlight of any luthiers life! B
I love that his style don't match AT ALL the soundtrack that he chose for this video!
He don't look like, but he's probably a really chill dude what is really passionate about making guitars!
I subscibed imediately!
Thank you, I di like it think of myself as a fairly chill dude.. most of the time I also love dichotomy, don't you? B
This guy takes "Hey dad, I want a guitar" to a whole new level
Blown away by your creativity and craftsmanship
Seeing you building it is so soothing.
Oh boy, it is BEAUTIFUL! A piece of art. Even more so if one has seen every step necessary to bring it to perfection.
did i just watch 26 minutes of sped up montage of someone making a cool looking guitar?
Thanks youtube, your recommendations are wack sometimes but this one was ok.
Thank you.. they suggested it but you stuck around! B
Unbelievable craftsmanship, looks amazing, sounds like ...
I love this exoskeleton on the guitar. All the different woods you've used are stunning!! You certainly must love detail work, at least on some level. This is just breathtaking. I hope you get out of it, at least what you put in. By that I don't necessarily mean money, but satisfaction in a piece of art beautifully made, and enjoying the looks on people's faces when they see it.
Absolutely beautiful and amazing! Love the design and how it looks, it came out perfectly. Good work on this one
Amazing craftsmanship. I preferred it without the exoskeleton, but thats just a matter of taste.
Yeah. I have all this beautiful quilting what should I do with it? I know I'll cover it up with something not nearly as beautiful. Poor tree.
What if the exoskeleton was non symmetrical, would you like it then ?
@@luckyPiston not a slight against the builder. Each of the components are quite lovely / interesting on their own. Just in this case they don't work well together, (IMO anyway).
Yes, this rare piece of snakewood has a beautiful pattern of it's own.
The craftsmanship is utterly amazing but I like the guitar underneath the "complication" more than the exoskeleton...mostly because it looks raw wood. It doesn't aesthetically blend to my eye. The electronic back plate too. The fingerboard is a work of art.
This is honestly one of me most unique and best looking guitars I have ever seen, what a beauty, well done
That is the most AMAZING thing i have ever seen.. what a masterpiece. Absolutley breathtaking!!! Thank you for this video!
Thank you for watching! B
This is just incredible, what an amazing piece of art! You are truly a master of your craft!
thank you, I'm lucky enough to be paid to have fun and to challenge myself with guitar builds like this. B
Though the two videos are nice bite-sized records of the build and a pleasure to watch, the 22-part series contained (obviously) a lot more explanation, design changes and techniques, which I found fascinating to watch. If you haven't seen all of these (and if so, why not?) you must. Do it now!
I hope the guitar gets played every once in a while- after all the hard work and love that's been put into her creation, she needs to sing occasionally.
It does, however, get incredibly boring. Seemingly endless episodes spent on the ugly ‘exoskeleton’
@@ksell5441 I didn't find it at all boring, but I liked the exoskeleton. I suppose it all depends on your point of view and life would be boring if we all thought the same.
And the end results......Gorgeously unique and Beautiful!
You’re quite talented! Thank you for sharing!
Amazing work! I hope you continue to make these masterpieces and I'm glad you recorded the process that was awesome!
Sickest build I've come across! I commend your work good sir!
Absolutely and incredibly beautiful. Some of the best woodworking I've ever seen, just gorgeous. Well damned done.
I'm not a musician, but I didn't need to be to appreciate how impressive this is. One thing that shocked me is how chincey the electronics that go into these things are. Doesn't detract from this masterpiece in any way though.
This has to be one of the greatest craftsmanship videos I've seen..I admire this man's craftsmanship to the highest
That thing is beautiful!
3 words come to mind when I see it..
Alien web axe!
I watched part 1 and part 2 all the way through.
Your imagination and skills are amazing!
As a musician and experienced carpenter with an imagination and vision for creating things different, unusual and very detailed, personally I think this build is absolutely amazing. I also believe it is probably the greatest guitar ever built. If it come down to valuing a guitar by the craftsmanship then this guitar would be priceless. I have watched just a few videos of this guy building guitars so far and will continue to watch all of the videos of him I can find because he is the master of masters and this is his masterpiece! I believe this is the greatest guitar builder who has ever lived! I applaud this man's skill, talent and vision!
I nearly threw up when he drilled all those holes in that BEAUTIFUL FINISH to mount the exoskeleton. I don't particularly like the skeleton, but that was incredible work. GORGEOUS! You are blessed with that skill and patience.
I agree
This level of vision, skill and execution is almost not human! Mind - blown 🤯
Thank you very much, I had fun and I am really really happy that you like it! B
Mate, thank you!!! I was fully captivated by the whole process! Beautiful your a true artist my friend
A work of the highest level. Regardless of taste, I was astonished as the video progressed. Be proud of your art
Thank you! B
Incredible, makes me wanna learn how to build some guitars
My job here is done! B
OK this is the fifth essence of guitar building, I have viewed this build already three times and will never get tired of seeing it, I just love it
I am just speechless!!! Not only with your Craftsmanship but the idea of building a guitar like this. Just WOW!!!
you are the Jimi Hendrix of guitar building i don't impress easily but you impress me. Your guitar is insane and I have to laugh at some of the critics. If they think it should be different let's see there video. It's more than a guitar it is a work of art I wish I could afford to have you build me a guitar but here I am with a squire. You are the man and thanx for the video
I absolutely love the ideas you've put together for the guitar build. The gorgeous main body's lacquer is quite mesmerising. The ivory looking skeletal frame is a fantastic idea. As I watched, it sparked an idea of my own. I thought to have a; piano black main-body with an ivory skeletal frame actually embedded into the main-body. Giving the impression of the frame rising from within the body of the guitar. You sir are an inspirational artisan. Thank you for your video.
I would love to see that~ I have my mothers' ebony piano, with etchings in the panels. It's circa 1900.
This is an absolutely gorgeous guitar. Amazing design, and well built.
Man, you are an awesome artist! Watched both parts in silent amazement and it was so inspiring, thanks.
This absolutely looks like an electric guitar that the elves of Lothlorien would play. I can see Galadriel shredding on this in the Noldorin and Sindarin shred wars.
I can see the smashing pumpkins playing it during the mellon collie era lol
The fret board wood is absolutely gorgeous!
I watched this build 3 times. I love this guitar. Since I live in the U.S. it will remain a fantasy to own.
That is a priceless work of art!!! It was a pleasure to watch you put so much love into the creation!!!!
The natural looking form of that thing reminds me a lot of the Basilica Familia in Spain - love it!
You must be talking about the Cathedral of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, built by Gaudí :)
It was one of several things I had in mind early on. B
@@CrimsonCustomGuitars your craftsmanship is so neat and out of the box! Congratulations. I was actually visiting the Sagrada Familia a few months back and always find new details, Gaudí was a true genius, there are several buildings in Barcelona by him that are truly amazing. Great channel and great work, greetings from Spain
I thought of gaudi too
This is such a marmite guitar for me. There are things that are utterly beautiful and things that utterly detract from this guitar. It's not fair to say which things are which. Same can be said about the builder. What is undeniable is that it has been a thought provoking exhibition of luthiery, for which I am grateful.
Crimson Guitars - I'm in utter awe of your talent and enthusiasm. I recently bought the Harley Benton telecaster DIY kit. My inability to do anything remotely like an IKEA cupboard made me come across your website.
I was immediately inspired, almost bought all kinds of carpentry/woodworking tools because you breezed through every stage...
Thank f*ck I never!
As talented as you are, you fail to remember, (in my case) I am proper crap at doing what you do!!!
This is in NO Way a criticism of you guys! Quite the opposite - you make it look easy!!! It's your jam!! I can smash all kinds of things out the park, but what you guys do is like you're direct descendants of Jesus!; I was expecting to get a loaf, a fish and a glass of wine delivery the moment the video finished! By a beardy mailman!!!
I have a question for you regarding my kit tho... I've bought a maple flame leaf veneer (0.69mm) - I misread mm for cm.
Please pass on any advice. I've got 2 20x60 veneer sheets, uneven btw, that I want to attempt to use as a top on my very first diy build.
Any help would be so appreciated. Or even a link where you have shown how to do what I'm looking at
Thanks,
Bobby
Check out "Chippy Knickers - Spider In A Pram" on Spotify!
When it comes to custom builds with alot of detail, by far you the best I've seen!!
Guitar itself - stunning. Exoskeleton - criminal addition to otherwise gorgeous guitar. :)
For when your Druid multi-classes into Bard.
druids are primal, bards are arcane, and why would you do that multiclass, druids are far more versatile?
@@TheDarkalkymist You're right: it doesn't make sense, and, while you may end up with something incredibly unique and interesting, its usefulness would be questionable and everyone would wonder if it was worth the time and effort.
Thus the analogy. 😁
Breathtaking workmanship, though. 👍🏻
I already liked the brown finish, but now it‘s more than just a beautyful guitar! Wow!!!
Not just making an electric guitar... This is a masterpiece!!! An art with passion making... Good Job!!!!
So very beautiful!!! Thank you so much for this video about your work of art and sound.
I appreciate your mastery of your craft! 🎶
Incredible! You have a rare talent.
Can't find the words to describe my admiration for your skills. I'm blown away.
What an absolute craftsmanship
Absolutely amazing work. I would love to own a guitar like that
This is baroque. Completely insanely too much of too much and then some. I love it! A slap int the face of all the simplicist purist, simple lines boring buggers. A roman orgy with a feather for vomiting just to stuff even more into you (yes, i know, this isn't historically correct, but for the sake of the metaphor take it). In every crafting video people are singing the praise of stuff being "art", it isn't, its beautiful, well made craftsmanship - but this is, this is art, because it is just bonkers enough.
Na, Art is subjective.
is this how you actually speak or was that an impersonation of some novelist
@@PaperGub It varies depending on occasion, but yes i like a bit of vocabulary juggling. But it can of course also have something to do that english isn't my native language, so I don't have a "every day life" slang and my knowledge of the language comes from literature, movies and so on...
It may indeed not be fair to you but sir I could sit and watch you work by the hour! What a great job!
Ben what a beautiful guitar you have made. Fantastic brilliant enjoyable to watch you complete it.
The amount of detail is gnarly
Great shit
Thank you! B
Very cool build! You’re an artist.
This is the most beautiful art I've ever seen👌
It is'nt complex, it is " IMPOSSIBLE"
That was fantastic. That neck! Beautiful. You are an artist.
One word: Amazing!!!
This looked awesome and i wanna see more, NEW SUB!!
xxx
Dude! you are out of control. It's a bucket list guitar. Excellent!
Just amazing. Beautiful guitar and a craftsmanship Level that's out of this world.
omg that's amazing, good job guys, from Indonesia
Once some of the more detailed work was in, you gave me a mini heart attack every time you pointed a less delicate tool towards the guitar like "NOOOO YOURE GOING TO RUIN IT! ITS NOT WORTH THE RISK! Oh nevermind, that went better than expected"
what a awesome work, not only the guitar itself, but the hole work you done on it, very good.
I just saw your channel logo and I immediately KNEW this was going to be EPIC.
Subbed !!!
Wow! Now I can do one myself :-) Seriously, what a build - love it! Almost seemed a shame covering up that quilted top though but it's a really interesting and unique look. Great job (excellent soundtrack too!). 10/10.
I felt the same about the quilt in the end but am happy it worked.out the way it did.. now to find something else to obsess over! B
That finish was too nice to cover with that exoskeleton. Looked much nicer without it.
It killed me when he drilled into that buffed out finish.
That exoskeleton would've been way cooler in a glossy black or anything else. Natural just takes away from the beautiful body
@@mixedmediachaos9673 agreed. Less is more.
@@mixedmediachaos9673 neon yellow :)
@@mixedmediachaos9673 It does stick out quite a bit, but it's supposed to look like bones right? Still looks cool.
Truly a master chef on guitar building , incredible !
I watched the entire process with my jaw on the floor. Great job!
