I feel sorry for Ben - he has been totally eclipsed by the talent he has unearthed through this competition! Fantastic work!
In fairness to Ben, he has always wanted to get more people making guitars and revealing to the world the wonderful talent that is already out there. He quite openly admits that this comes at a detriment to Crimson guitars but he's always promoting people to 'make more sawdust'.
Great guitar by the way.....and loved the video.
This is certainly the most visually striking acoustic guitar I’ve ever seen! Love the jester/mosaic motif
Absolutely gorgeous, the tone is so bright, the work is that of a true luthier. Who would not covet an artwork as lovely as this? Gabriele for the win.
This is a beautiful instrument!!! I'm not sure what is more impressive... the guitar itself, or that she built it in her living room!
Still watching. Where in Germany are you? It almost feels like you might answer me.....🤓
It's Magical when you stain the wood, but you know that. Keep going.....🙄
Wonderful Tone!!!! Thankfully Very Deep
@@micksullivan3782 Hi there, sorry for getting back this late. I didn't see the comment. I'm at the edge of the Black Forest in Southern Germany.
Pure artistry. I hope you win
There are so many genius little techniques and so much problem solving hidden away in this video. They're like Easter eggs! I spotted the salt on the table when you were gluing up the heel of the neck and nearly jumped for joy! I spotted one!
Impeccable, as always
Been playing since I was 12 but now I'm never playing again, I need a guitar like this to bring me back
I had no clue what you were doing at the start - I thought it was the most complicated plank of wood ever. Then I saw the steamer and though "Oh my God, that's the sides! This is going to be incredible!"
Congrats, Gariele, you're truly one of the best.
Unbelievable Table top Luthiering . Blown Away
This is over the top. Be proud young lady.
Thanks, particularly for the "young" part...
Spellbinding project. Incredibly well done!
Absolutely stunning.
Hi Gabriele, I've been watching your channel for about a year now and I've learned a lot from your channel and from your style and Technics, that Guitar is a work of art as well as a great sounding functioning instrument,
I messaged you before about bridge pins that the extra weight of brass might inhibit the soundboard resonating at it's full potential,
I have tried all materials except the liquid metal pins by a high end guitar brand who I won't name and won't pay the money for them, I have however discovered a way to make any guitar louder and more resonant, I have an Levin LD 60 dreadnought that I purchased last year, it's all flammed maple and was made in Korea so it's a perfect Luthier built instrument that had so much potential, so upon closer inspection and playing in 432hz and 440hz tunings it just didn't respond or resonate properly so I investigated and found the saddle was plastic and it had shims of plastic too and the actual saddle was lifting off the soundboard at each corner so I'm losing tone here too but underneath the soundboard plate was chewed up like the ball ends of the strings had been severely over tightened or the wood was a soft wood that should never have be used, so using my mirror I inspected the whole inside and the made a bone saddle to replace plastic and removed the shims, but then an idea hit me that I could make a possible shims from a wound guitar string are a temporary measure so I could use calipers to measure the precise action height then I thought about the ball end of guitar strings had a hole so I measured it with the back of calipers to 2mm so I ordered 2mm brass sculpture/craft wire and it fit perfectly inside the ball ends so using a mirror I fashioned a shape similar to the saddle on the sound plate underneath on the sound board then kinked the strings as normal put the one by one into the pin holes and the brought the one by one up through the sound hole and looped the ball end over the brass wire in order from low E to high E then carefully took up the slack till the wire was touching the soundboard the pulled all but the E strings taught and held in place with a capo, the I adjusted the wire to sit flush on the sound plate the proceed to tune up both E strings then removed the capo did any final adjustments to the wire since it's now bound In place and then strung up the rest of the strings and BOOM 🤯 Gabriele the rest is History I cannot believe the difference,
Please try this on Guitar you know has more potential and see the difference I was and still am blown away!
As an apprentice Luthier starting college on 28th of August my dream is to make any instrument sound at it's best so those old forgotten gems in attics or garages but this has definitely made everyone of my personal instruments come alive like high Guitars of those big brands that are beyond students and beginners so I thought that it could be used to enhance the sound of any Guitar and that for me is the pinnacle to get the very best out of any instrument!
Thank you so much for all your hard work and time/effort creating these videos as they have helped me more than you'll ever know,
Please try this and I'd Love to hear how it went and what you think 🤔

Wow! Beaucoup de soins dans cette construction et le résultat est fantastique! Bravo
4:09 I don't normally put any weight into "coincidence", but IMMEDIATELY before watching this video I watched "The making of"Revolver" " with Paul talking about how he wrote "Elenore Rigby" !!! Clearly this means you are going to win this year's Build Off!!!
Great build video as usual. Nice playing to.
Wow, I'd give almost anything to be able to do what you do. Magnificent!!!!!!
Probably my favorite acoustic builder on youtube. I cant believe its already GGBO time again! I think you've got another winner here!

Very nice work. The way the neck goes on is similar to my Spazzovarius. Resonates well...
I want this guitar. Gabriele has won as far as I'm concerned.
Original and stunning. And you cleaned up a lot of scrap wood sitting around!!😂
And the sound is beautiful!
A real pleasure watching your imagination take such harlikin guitar shape. Good choice of patterns and a musical master piece in different wood types.
Great work as ever
Outstanding work! Very nice.
The only problem I have is figuring out which of your builds I adore the most 😁
you really hit the nail on the head with this one. gorgeous guitar. congrats
Gorgeous instrument. Bravo
Absolutely beautiful
Very nice Gabi😊. I was most impressed with how well those sides bent.
Hi Andrew,
yes that was what I was scared about. You can see in the video that I was relieved it worked out without it falling into pieces...
@@GabiM3112yes, I thought you looked relieved 😁
But will those joints sustain in time?
@LeoWal01 Why wouldn't they? It's just like any other lamination with guitar sides. They are not there on their own but are glued on other wood. So I don't why it wouldn't stay where it is. As a matter of fact I think it is even more stable due to the lamination and the ood grain on the peices eunning in all directions os you have not potential break lines.
I hope so, but lamination is not quite the same because the woodgrain runs through and through... While bending I saw the sides bent a little unevenly, seemed they bent a little 'open' at the joints or maybe it only bucked at the joints. Or it was an optical illusion. Didn't see you sand the sides 'straight' though...
By the way, I love your channel! You do great building guitars! I thought this was a real challenging one. Good luck in the competition!
Amazing job on the Guitar! It sounds amazing.
Just beautiful, and nice touch with "Blackbird," at the end.
