The derogatory term Uncle Tom is not really from the original character from "Uncle Tom's Cabin" but later adaptations that caricaturized Uncle Tom into some sort of happy collaborator. So the original portrayal got lost along the way.

Rene Nuñez - I'm by no means defending Trump, I did not vote for him and I'm not a fan by any means. But to say that he is "taking the rights away from others" is just absurd. Without the minority vote trump would not have been elected, Obama in 2012 had 59% of the white vote, while Trump had 58%, Obama lost 27% of the Latino vote while Trump won 29%, Obama lost 6% of the Black vote while Trump won 8%, and Obama lost 26% of the Asian vote while Trump won 29%. Point being, that statistically speaking, minority groups who who voted for Obama had to vote for Trump in order for him to be elected.
I don't like the guy, or most of his policies, and I did my part as a citizen to vote against him, but I think that's it's a shame for people who don't support Hillary to be publicly shamed for their own political beliefs as if they were contributing to some sort of racially-motivated oppressor. Donald Trump is embarrassing to the presidency in my opinion, but I'm not going to treat someone like a racist SOB for disagreeing with me.
And if others, especially minorities, I can disagree with them but I'm not going to shame and hate on them for being the race they are and expressing their beliefs. I want to see this country succeed, but screaming racism where it's not valid and miss-quoting speeches onto generalized people who were not spoken about only makes the political climate worse, and dumbs down the racism that I've faced in my life. And although I think Kanye is kinda being a bit naive, don't think that all the hatred and bullying he's received is making anything better. I understand where your opinion is coming from, but I respectfully disagree.

I'd love that, but it's terribly unrealistic. The way we need to go is a slow and steady process of cultural moderation and legislative bipartisan WORK, not talk. This administration has gotten a ton done, but infrastructure, immigration, important issues that can and should be handled must be. This will help establish the equilibrium we need so badly. But realistically, a massive natural disaster or terrorist attack will be needed before we all stop screaming across the aisle. By the way, I love you.

It's interesting to see how politics has literally become the most important thing in America which stands over absolutely everything. One moment Kanye is your favourite artist, but as soon as you see he supports the other political side he's now a disgusting person and you never liked him in the first place... Politics should really not be that important.
I remember being in middle school. It was a Catholic one too. The elections split us up so much. I didn't like the people who supported Trump before but I hated them even more when I found out.
Honestly though, now I'm just sick of it. I want my feed to stop endorsing one side or trying to defame the other. I still have morals, I know they do too.
