I've been getting more into Max Landis' vlogs where he pitches a movie concept detailing the nuances of characterization and progressive storytelling and just being fascinated by the ideas he has and how well he knows about writing a narrative. I've been following you for so long hearing you analyze the storytelling in so many shows that vlogs of this style really fit into your life narrative. kinda like testing the knowledge you've collected from analysis into your own original ideas, and pitching them to us. Actually, I'd be very hyped to see such a show about the video game industry. They start a club and do small but creative projects. They get spotted by pros. Then they graduate and get into different game companies. They keep in touch and each of them face a different issue of the professional world. Some struggle with marketing, others have to face the fact that their idols are jerks, other overwork... Season 3 would be them creating their indie company and facing harsh financing realities and having a hard time meeting ends. It would be cool because there are so many different jobs and skills required for a game : animator, 3D, 2D, designer, manager, script writer, voice actor...
My dream anime probably would be two guys trying to write a bestseller mystery novel. Both are over 18 years old and one is a little crazy and views the world a little bit different than others. It pretty much is a story of 1. what a good mystery should be like 2. what life is al about and 3. human study and showing that the world is much more grey than it is black and white. It aches in my fingertips to actually write this story.

My two favorite directors/styles are the shaft/shinbo style and the trigger/imaishi/yohshinori style. My dream anime would 24 episode political psychological mecha called FALSE by a collaboration between sunrise and gainax about someone drafted into the military to fight a war but then a superweapon blows up earth and he is the only survivor of the human race (because his incompetent commander wasn't ordering a retreat when they were losing and he ran from the battle just as the superweapon fired) he is sent tumbling through space, but his mech was a long distance scouting version so he went into cryo for 100s of years. his mech gets taken into a alien spacecraft and meets the aliens. they pusuade him to join the fight against other aliens who use crystal tech (his mech is slightly stronger than theirs) but are they really the good guys? after around 12 episodes he realises that they are aliens .1 are kind of fascist (even though there is a tsundere alien in love with him) so he joins aliens .2, (where a fujoshi alien is in love with him and this relationship progresses) but they are losing the war and even though he is a good strategist they eventually lose in a spectacular battle where fascist aliens are bombarding aliens .2s main base on their homeworld with missiles and superpower full mechs, piloted by his love intersests. the fujoshi male looses and gets captured, but the main (after killing someone who was trying to reform the fascists from the inside) escapes. he then teams up with some side characters to stop the mass execution of prisoners. after fighting his way through the guards, the main has to get out of his mech to go inside a building. inside its the tsundere about to shoot the fujoshi, but because he isn't trained to kill he doesn't shoot he in time she shoots the fujoshi then he shoots her. then guards rush in and surround him. he makes no move to fight back as he is emotionally dead. then it cuts to black, and you hear gunshots (but if you are etentive you will realize they aren't the fascists guns leading to a possible second season?). The problem is, this could easily become an aldonoa zero so I would have to watch over every stage of production.

Yeah i could see that, by the last couple of seasons, being like gurren lagan or attack on titan where early on characters who aren't very strong "in the fray" find much more fitting roles in other parts of the industry or occupations that can be related to the industry. This the kind of show i would love a lot if it was good, and completely hate if it wasn't, because ever since i watched K-ON! that has been one of my favorite ideas for a hipothetical show. Not exactly like that, but just that i always wanted to see a version of K-ON where two childhood friends fall in love with each other and they play weird experimental music. And there would be a guy that is not necessarily in the group, but is a friend of them that would be around most of the time just doing something. And he would be someone who's really into music, but is more of a critic and observer that would help the band sometimes but wouldn't want to get too involved. I sure got carried away while writing this '-'
It sounds experimental alright. I think it'd get its niche audience but generally speaking, the plot and feel changes a little too much. One season is essentially K-On + Hibike Euphonium, and then season 2 kicks in on a different environment and decreases the lightheartedness of it all. Then season 3 would be overall their success phase, which sounds like it'd be good for the main cast but would be the weaker part of the anime due to it not really sounding like it'd need a whole season for it. Plus, season 3 would probably want to return some lighthearted humor to the series that season 2 lacked, but that is an awkward development if it did try to return to essence with upbeat themes of having hit success. The finale season would feel more like an extra with no real goal to build up to other than showing what the characters are doing in their 30s to 40s on their own, without the series having any real intention of putting them back together. I'd recommend the idea to have a smooth passing of time rather than time jumps for it, to give it more of a feel that we are watching a person's life without awkwardly fast-forwarding to key parts, especially if it plans to be 50-52 episodes long. Then again, you'd also have to wonder if you are gonna try to hoard the attention of the whole built-in world you make, or choose a main character to follow up. If the latter, other members that exist the band throughout the years will simply get out of the picture. IDK, I've never really written anything so you probably could pull it off.

I am a filthy casual/I haven't really thought about who I would get to do so that can wait. My perfect anime is 32 Seasons long. Yeah. Its told somewhat consecutively, however it can have multiple seasons going on at the same time when they actually have little to do with each other but there will be small things in the background that confirm they are in the same universe. It starts with the MC getting transported to another universe. Then however it more focuses on these badasses at a medevil guild hall with him in the background doing rando shit. I say he is the MC because over all the seasons he is but most don't actually feature him. As the season progresses everyone develops and they confront the final boss (of their season). All seasons have radically different tones and feels as they are based in different fictional parts of this other world. The characters all have interesting characters with some being completely new concepts to public consciousness. Different seasons can be done like slice of life, magic, tech and eventually mecha (tech magic golem hybrids) with some being horror. The MC is seen/heard about around all seasons and there is always something about him although its usually quite nebulous. "You hear that the harbor was bought by a weirdo from the other continent?" for example. Then the last season has the MC show himself to actually be the final villain. He has done his own version of the shounen formula with a lot of economic,technological and magical stuff all which have been hinted at in every season. The last seasons focuses on the main MC and shows him trying to subjugate the world through his determination. In fact every "final boss" in most seasons are directly influenced in some why by him. His gimmick is that he turned all his weaknesses into strengths and this includes things like curses and etc. Kinda like on the level of the MCs in no game no life. He beats the god of the universe and becomes the anti god whom halts all time while he works on his grander plan. Now one of the seasonal MCs had time powers and they do this chrono trigger type thing to confront the new anti god uniting all seasons's main characters to attack him, including the fresh first moment the MC drops in. They fight and win, so the past MC ascends to the throne as the God that always was. He smiles knowingly at the end knowing of his own sacrifice for his plan was to keep the title of god forever and this is the only way can ensure absolute power, as he hovers his hand over his original past self on earth to bring him to the other world to start everything again. Also all seasons will be good like they are their own independent seasons and the whole series would have already been released with the final episode being tomorrow.

My two favorite directors/styles are the shaft/shinbo style and the trigger/imaishi/yohshinori style. I don't really know how to blend those and I also really like out there character designs like take and the guy you just mentioned. I think my dream anime is just a blender full of in cohesive blue ray disks

My dream anime would 24 episode political psychological mecha called FALSE by a collaboration between sunrise and gainax about someone drafted into the military to fight a war but then a superweapon blows up earth and he is the only survivor of the human race (because his incompetent commander wasn't ordering a retreat when they were losing and he ran from the battle just as the superweapon fired) he is sent tumbling through space, but his mech was a long distance scouting version so he went into cryo for 100s of years. his mech gets taken into a alien spacecraft and meets the aliens. they pusuade him to join the fight against other aliens who use crystal tech (his mech is slightly stronger than theirs) but are they really the good guys? after around 12 episodes he realises that they are aliens .1 are kind of fascist (even though there is a tsundere alien in love with him) so he joins aliens .2, (where a fujoshi alien is in love with him and this relationship progresses) but they are losing the war and even though he is a good strategist they eventually lose in a spectacular battle where fascist aliens are bombarding aliens .2s main base on their homeworld with missiles and superpower full mechs, piloted by his love intersests. the fujoshi male looses and gets captured, but the main (after killing someone who was trying to reform the fascists from the inside) escapes. he then teams up with some side characters to stop the mass execution of prisoners. after fighting his way through the guards, the main has to get out of his mech to go inside a building. inside its the tsundere about to shoot the fujoshi, but because he isn't trained to kill he doesn't shoot he in time she shoots the fujoshi then he shoots her. then guards rush in and surround him. he makes no move to fight back as he is emotionally dead. then it cuts to black, and you hear gunshots (but if you are etentive you will realize they aren't the fascists guns leading to a possible second season?).
The problem is, this could easily become an aldonoa zero so I would have to watch over every stage of production.

Yeah i could see that, by the last couple of seasons, being like gurren lagan or attack on titan where early on characters who aren't very strong "in the fray" find much more fitting roles in other parts of the industry or occupations that can be related to the industry. START A PATREON AND SAVE UP FOR THAT SHIT

This the kind of show i would love a lot if it was good, and completely hate if it wasn't, because ever since i watched K-ON! that has been one of my favorite ideas for a hipothetical show. Not exactly like that, but just that i always wanted to see a version of K-ON where two childhood friends fall in love with each other and they play weird experimental music. And there would be a guy that is not necessarily in the group, but is a friend of them that would be around most of the time just doing something. And he would be someone who's really into music, but is more of a critic and observer that would help the band sometimes but wouldn't want to get too involved.

It sounds experimental alright. I think it'd get its niche audience but generally speaking, the plot and feel changes a little too much. One season is essentially K-On + Hibike Euphonium, and then season 2 kicks in on a different environment and decreases the lightheartedness of it all. Then season 3 would be overall their success phase, which sounds like it'd be good for the main cast but would be the weaker part of the anime due to it not really sounding like it'd need a whole season for it.
Plus, season 3 would probably want to return some lighthearted humor to the series that season 2 lacked, but that is an awkward development if it did try to return to essence with upbeat themes of having hit success.
The finale season would feel more like an extra with no real goal to build up to other than showing what the characters are doing in their 30s to 40s on their own, without the series having any real intention of putting them back together.
I'd recommend the idea to have a smooth passing of time rather than time jumps for it, to give it more of a feel that we are watching a person's life without awkwardly fast-forwarding to key parts, especially if it plans to be 50-52 episodes long. Then again, you'd also have to wonder if you are gonna try to hoard the attention of the whole built-in world you make, or choose a main character to follow up. If the latter, other members that exist the band throughout the years will simply get out of the picture.

I am a filthy casual/I haven't really thought about who I would get to do so that can wait. My perfect anime is 32 Seasons long. Yeah. Its told somewhat consecutively, however it can have multiple seasons going on at the same time when they actually have little to do with each other but there will be small things in the background that confirm they are in the same universe.
It starts with the MC getting transported to another universe. Then however it more focuses on these badasses at a medevil guild hall with him in the background doing rando shit. I say he is the MC because over all the seasons he is but most don't actually feature him. As the season progresses everyone develops and they confront the final boss (of their season). All seasons have radically different tones and feels as they are based in different fictional parts of this other world. The characters all have interesting characters with some being completely new concepts to public consciousness. Different seasons can be done like slice of life, magic, tech and eventually mecha (tech magic golem hybrids) with some being horror.
The MC is seen/heard about around all seasons and there is always something about him although its usually quite nebulous. "You hear that the harbor was bought by a weirdo from the other continent?" for example. Then the last season has the MC show himself to actually be the final villain. He has done his own version of the shounen formula with a lot of economic,technological and magical stuff all which have been hinted at in every season. The last seasons focuses on the main MC and shows him trying to subjugate the world through his determination. In fact every "final boss" in most seasons are directly influenced in some why by him. His gimmick is that he turned all his weaknesses into strengths and this includes things like curses and etc. Kinda like on the level of the MCs in no game no life. He beats the god of the universe and becomes the anti god whom halts all time while he works on his grander plan. Now one of the seasonal MCs had time powers and they do this chrono trigger type thing to confront the new anti god uniting all seasons's main characters to attack him, including the fresh first moment the MC drops in. They fight and win, so the past MC ascends to the throne as the God that always was. He smiles knowingly at the end knowing of his own sacrifice for his plan was to keep the title of god forever and this is the only way can ensure absolute power, as he hovers his hand over his original past self on earth to bring him to the other world to start everything again.
Also all seasons will be good like they are their own independent seasons and the whole series would have already been released with the final episode being tomorrow.
