  • I am testing four whitetail minerals to see which one our deer like the most as well as an early season trap to be ready for the South Carolina opener!

My issue in my county and game zone is hunting with dogs isn’t legal but they run my property. This has made the still hunting a challenge. I like your breakdown on this property. I need to up my game on this.

Another really good video with great informative content! In regards to your concerns about thermals, you might consider hunting out of an enclosed blind instead of a lock-on. Krivoman Blinds is just an example of an enclosed blind that I have used before with really good results. You can take your ozonics with you, keep the windows closed until your target buck shows up, then open the window to your shooting lane and kill him. (I have almost the exact same scenario as you do on a town tract that I hunt and ended up killing a 161" last year doing the above example.) You would be surprised at how well you can camouflage an enclosed blind with artificial Christmas Trees and military netting draped over the blind. The enclosed blind also gives you more freedom to move around, especially with a cameraman. You can also put a battery operated fan inside it for those extremely hot days. (I live in East Texas so I know how brutal it can be early season). Also keeps the mosquitos off you cuz you can run a Thermacell inside while hunting. It's also quieter when entering and exiting instead of climbing down or up a tree in the dark.

Great feedback Ryan....really appreciate it...I have heard those enclosed blinds can be deadly!!

If there's a buck really worth game planning around I'd hang 1 more set. One straight south of that one right on the lake for a north wind. Looks like a good spot Joe.

Ramsay Country thought about that but we have to walk across the trail and if the bucks are together the first one out will smell where I walked and probably spook, that would be a tough play as it’s about 105 degrees here in August.....hahahahah....but that is a good idea and it might come to that

@@JoeMilesMWT understand that, i know it's not always possible but i try to have at least 2 sets for each setup. Nothing worst than having a buck patterned and have a major Strom from come up the east coast and not be able to hunt a set for a week.

I would of cleared a 3 ft circle and poured half of it evenly over it and raked in ground a bit then put other half evenly on top , they don’t really like mineral in a big pile like that they like it mixed in the first and in a thin layer not a big pile , jus a tip for u

Please let us know if you noticed the deer's racks have improved since you supplemented them with minerals.

I would hate to live their , 5 bucks per hunter is to many , that will wipe everything out and make it to where it’s worse then hunting public land lol , and it’s dumb to deer hunt with dogs , it’s not rabbit hunting lol
