I totally agree with what you are saying. They don’t need you to put mineral blocks out, they can absolutely get the minerals they need among the forest by their lonesome. What we are using them for without knowing is more of an attractant and establishing a comfort zone for the deer.

I agree to a point. I’m in the west Texas seeert where forage is limited in the summer months. I believe minerals with a protein source helps our deer out here because most of forage is dead

I wouldn’t be shocked, especially from a protein aspect. Texas is a whole different situation compared to the rest of the country for the most part

I've been putting minerals out for 4-7 years in different places. I nave noticed that the does are now producing more twins and even triplets on occasion. And those fawns are bigger as well. Before minerals, singles were the norm. My cameras are going every day year round and I have noticed healthier does and fawns. I refresh my sites as soon as deer season ends so those preggo does can get minerals as soon as they want.
I enjpyed the the video, your thoughts and honesty. Just thought I'd share some things I have noticed. Oh, and this has taken place over a few years. Definitely not a "pour bag A pug and 200" deer EVERYWHERE.".

Generally the “twins” scenario takes place when there are older age class does who are being bred. Appreciate the comment, just stating the research that has been provided by the QDMA aka NDA

I honestly think that them maximizing their mineral intake and getting everything they need from environment totally depends on the environment. Deer in the pines of SC and Georgia will not have the same minerals available as deer in Iowa and southern Wisconsin. Also I think some deer need the minerals more than others living in the same area. I have two mature bucks that hang out together in the summer. 1 hits the minerals 2 or 3 times a week. The other literally never touches it even though they are usually together.

@@whitetaillandmanagement it is interesting. The one that never touches the minerals is currently sporting about 155" mainframe 10 with quite a few kickers already. But the other buck even though he looks a tad older isn't as developed but his rack is about 4 inches outside the ears with no defined points other than brows. I estimate they are both atleast 5 years old. I have no history with these deer as I just recently purchased the land. I'm in Delaware. Also I have a late birth doe that just gave birth a few days ago. She was hitting the minerals every night religiously. Since giving birth she isn't quite as much. Just food for thought.

If minerals don’t change anything then how come Iowa bucks are so much different than say New York bucks??? I’m not saying a bag of minerals will make a huge difference but minerals are the driving force, so providing minerals has got to help in some growth and health!

Lol if a deer has had supplemental mineral in its body since it was conceived it will most definitely be larger and have the ability to have bigger antlers because the standard body weight will be higher as well as their healthiness and ability to keep away any mineral deficiency.

Deer cane has literally nothing beneficial, in any significant amount, for deer. You might as well save your money and just buy a bag of stock salt. Deer will still come and you get a lot more for your money
