- So, Nico Hulkenberg to Sauber probably wasn’t on your silly season bingo card. To be clear, this isn’t a Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber signing, this is a decision that had come from soon to be team owners Audi.
Signing a contract this early in the season means that this move has been in the works for a while now and isn’t Audi getting the best they could, they have signed a driver they really wanted.
When we posted our news video breaking Hulk’s move to Audi, the comments were a real mixed bag. Some people loved the move, but some people called him old, washed up, and a waste of an F1 seat, and that second group were wrong.
That might surprise you, but this is the perfect move for Audi to set themselves up to succeed from day one.

The Hulk is a super good driver. He is be able to contribute a lot to making Audi a success.
The Hulk is an underatated, vastly experienced and quick driver, perfect for a burgeoning soon to be a giant of an F1 team.
I just wish Toyota came back into f1 with the knowledge they have from WEC of building incredibly reliable hybrid engines i think they'd smash it... we've already seen Ferrari transition into WEC and do quite well as a result. Would be cool to see it the opposite way around.

Carlos has to go to Audi. It's the best logical fit for the rest of his career. You have a team that wants him a team that will let him win (unlike red bull) and Audi can be a team he can build around himself to show off his true natural talent

It's alright. I normally record in my VO booth but the camera looks crap in there. The rest of my office is less accousticly treated, so I use a different mic, so it sounds a bit different

Audi usually has a champion ship winning car within 3 years in whatever kind of racing they are involved in.

Sainz may be Audi's best bet but, will Sainz want to go to a new team that will struggle and can't promise wins. I'd hate to see Carlos go to Audi just for the money. then have his talent wither on the vine till they get up and running for serious podium challenges, and possibly turn into another Ricciardo who had it all and threw it away.

second seat Bottas,,,Carlos goes to RB when Max goes to Merc...166million is ALOT of money a year..Then we get the old goat in a fer,,hes happy,Max in a good,,not great car where he "races" again,hes happy, carlos,,who is way underrated takes over RB,, theyre all happy. And Audi has an unbelievable European marketing machine in those two....
