Great crowd control by Leon at the start. He turned the boos into applause when he noticed the crowd turning on Usman. Class Act by both fighters.
I watched it again when I read that. Yeah that was class by Leon there.

Seeing a man as competitive as Kamaru Usman this humble in a close defeat is very wholesome. Hats off to Kamaru man
He isn't humble, he is humbled.
He's finished. I hate to see him like this. His punches were awful. He has no ju jitsu or Sambo skills. His legs are gone. His only chance of winning a fight is getting a takedown and ground and pound. And because of his legs being gone its hard to takedown

@@sasukeuchiha3850 This. Straight up fuck Leon. That was an egregious fence grab, and he had the audacity to sit there and act like he didn't know what happened. He should've been DQ'd for trying to act like he didn't do anything. And Herb Dean fucked him by not giving him the position back that Leon fouled to avoid. And then Leon kicks him in the dick as insult to injury right after the fence grab.
Leon's a dirty fighter, and I'll never root for him. I hope whoever gets the chance next destroys him for all the dirty shit he pulled in this fight. We wonât forget usman. The fans like to hate on guys because itâs fun and what keeps the sport alive. Now that his run is over people will give lots of credit to usman and he will always be remembered as one of the best champions ever.
So true. Getting the belt is one thing, defending it is another. Kamaru Usman is cut from the same cloth as GSP. And just like Georges St. Pierre, Usman will be remembered by the purist of the sport.
honeslty bro
Unfortunately he's a PEDs cheat.
Thatâs life
This is one of rare times I actually seen real humbleness in defeat. You can see it hurts him that he is not champion no more... Even after last defeat he was still considered champion that just got caught with one kick but now he has no excuses and it hurts yet he still gave proper respect to his opponent.
Part of it probably was his bigotry. He had said previously he would never fight izzy because he wants two Nigerians as champions. Then here he talked up edwards and said he was a âbrotherâ like usman. But I wonder if heâd have had such grace if beaten by a white fighter. Especially if the white fighter was just like usman but only white, where the white fighter said things like he wants other white fighters to be champ or that heâs a white brother. Pretty sure usman would have hated that guy and not been so gracious in defeat. Even tho that guy would be exactly like usman in his bigotry, just bigotry for a different race
@@justinabajian1087 How you bring up race I have no idea...
@@mrfatuchi I didnât bring up race. Usman did. I just pointed it out
â@Justin Abajian yeah it's not that deep bro seems like u spend to much time making things out of nothing j get on w ur life surely u have better things to do
@@rogue0919 if a white fighter showed humbleness in defeat saying he respects the other fighter cause heâs white like me, that would raise a red flag in my mind. Imagine if stipe lost to a white fighter, not Francis, and then said he respects him and recognizes heâs white, like me, that would raise red flags on stipe. You would wonder why stipe brought up the fact the other fighter is also white. And why that matters that heâs the same ethnicity. You might not call stipe a racist for that, but it would at least raise a red flag as to why stipe cares about the other fighter also being white. That wouldnât necessarily be racism which is superiority to other races. It wouldnât necessarily be that. But it would be bigotry, rooting for your own race.
And Iâm not even saying bigotry is wrong. Most people are probably bigoted in one way or another. And bigotry doesnât equal racism. You can prefer your own without hating the other. Iâm not saying in-group preference is wrong. Iâm just saying if a white fighter was openly showing racial in-group preference, it would raise red flags in most peopleâs minds.

Kamaru is GREAT even in his loss.. He's a HELL of a fighter... Infinite respect for you man... â€ïžâ€ïž
I like Usman more every time he fights, even when he loses. Continues to show class.
What an upstanding fighter, so much respect bro Usman.
You know...that was a great fight, you know, both fighters did really good you know... respect to both fighters you know... I'd really love to see a rematch you know...and yea ..you know
Kamaru is an inspiration. I still believe Kamaru is the greatest welterweight because of his consecutive win streak and title defenses.
Such respect from both fighters đ đ
I counted 16 âya knowâ in his interviewđ congratulations to both men, Usman was one helluva champion.
Talks like a teenage girl, glad that heâs no longer champ he has zero charisma and is not a good talker. Letâs go Colby hope he defeats Leon
Mentally broke
