Been waiting for another vid
can u fight with your friends and teach us at the same time?
When you say loose fist do you mean dont clench fist inside glove until right before impact on the bag?
Thank you so much about the tight fist advice . Been doing the heavybag for a while now but was always bothered on how tight my fists should be.
Tony can you make another or this video but give instructions in English please?
Advice for beginners: don’t be discouraged. I’m still learning too. Stay consistent and find the style that best suits you along your boxing journey.
😆
48 years young and just started with the heavy bag. Your lessons are so easy to follow. Thanks 🙏

Just started my weight loss journey and this was my first workout! Bought some boxing gloves and had so much fun! Couldn’t keep up 100% but hope to be able to keep up as I get better! Thanks for the video 🩷
I just got myself a punch bag. I've no interest in taking up boxing, it's more for an upper body workout as my main form of exercise is cycling with just a bit of weightlifting. 😊
Good for you hun. I'm planning to start getting healthy and losing weight myself after the new year. I've got myself a punch bag and gloves too. I'm hoping this workout will be more fun. How have you been getting on? I hope you're doing well 🤞😉🩷
1. distance so can punch through bag
2. exhale with every punch
3. tight fist only when contact with bag
3. slow before fast
3. hand straight back to face after every punch
3. step foot with side your moving first, land with ball of foot not heel, never cross feet so always in position to punch
3.
4. 3 after 2, shorter 2, drop back heel down for 3 front foot turns with hook
5. move head before and after each combo
6.
My niece punched a heavy bag daily for 30min starting at the age of 12. She's still just a skinny girl but if she punches you in the kidneys your day is over.
This is great 😂🎉
Tony your personality is very inspiring, directly or indirectly you teaches us to go through the hardships of life and not to surrender 🥊
Thanks so much Sameer!
I JUST join a Boxing Gym today and this is soo helpful to me now as hitting the bag was hard, it moved alot and I thought I wasn't doing anything so thanks coach for this wonde video!!!
My pleasure mate
This was everything I was looking for!!! Intro to footwork, few punches to work with. You’re so helpful, thank you for making this
I'm 49, never been in a fight, definitely not in the best of shape, but me and my gf just started going to the gym, and I've been hitting the punching bag. 3 whole times so far, but it's been tiring, like super fast. And I just learned so much in this one video, I can't wait to go try this stuff out later, thanks, boss!
I learned the basics in rehab, for self confidence. But I did not stop there
And your videos are so inspiring. Love.
I just moved my heavy bag out of the basement after 10 years of not using it for lack of space and youtube immediately started recommending your videos. After I finish here, ive got a place out in the woods where im gonna hang it from a tree, wish me luck haha. Thanks for the vids brother.
Branching out from only lifting weights and now to this is hard but these videos are really good thanks easy to follow you are an excellent teacher 👌
Simple, straightforward and very clear- excellent - thank you for all the advice!
Another 48er here with some boxing experience but alot of bad habits your videos help me improve thank you Tony you're the man.
You're absolutely wonderful, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and teaching me. So grateful to learn from you!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge brother, just starting my journey and your videos help a ton 🙌
The foot transition between the 2/hook combo, really shows the importance of footwork. Thanks for making me aware of this!
That’s the best introduction to hitting the heavy bag, Excellent work! 💪🏽
I'm 56 .do 12 x 3mins rounds. I may not be the best but at least we are all trying to be better than we where .
Class video mate.
I have a 100lb heavybag in my garage that I have been punching on for years. I've always punched it barehanded...I wanted my hands to be rough and tough and hand and wrist ligaments to be extra tough. I hit the bag to be ready for a streetfight...not a boxing ring. All that said, man these are great videos by an absolute Pro/expert boxer. So fast and smooth...he does everything effortless.
I feel ya, I have one too, and I punched the tf out of it barehanded recently, skin's roughed up but it's gonna heal better.
Your video sessions are awesome. Thanks heaps.
Hey Tony, I just wanted to say thank you so much for your videos. Your channel directly inspired me to join a boxing gym and I absolutely love it. Thanks again and I hope you can inspire many more people!
Glad to hear that mate
Great video Tony

Thank you for this very informative video for beginners.
Great explanation, thank you
Thank you so much for this video! It's been so long and this was a great refresher..........it's been too long
Just what I was looking for
You are a bad ass man. Thanks for making these for us newbies
Thanks. Just ordered a punching bag and pair of gloves. I'll be watching your vids from the basics
Nice one Tony! 👍
44 years ago I did a bit of boxing as a welterweight. I loved the training. My roommate and I bought groceries and made meals together. I ate more than he did. I could barely keep my weight on and he managed to maintain 270 lbs as a couch potato. The heavy bag was my favorite phase of training.
Thanks!
Thanks mate!
great video!
Perfect instructions!
I just discovered how amazing it feels to hit the bag. But I was doing it quite carnally and I wanna get precise. Might have uncovered a hidden passion. I love the breakdowns and the discussion here. Learning bits from the best! Thank you.
Super helpful and expertly presented as always.
Thank you , means a lot
Thanks Coach.
Tony ! You ARE the best !..
Very helpful ✔️✌️
This was really helpful, I’ve just started using gloves and a bag at my gym for self defence, only problem I have is a strong punch with my weak hand
Fire tutorial ❤

That is awesome! Happy to help mate
This video appears just as I am getting into bag work at home to help my weight loss. This channel has been really helpful.
Thank you , means a lot
Sounds like your phone is spying on you.
thanks Tony !
Tony always on highest level of teaching
Only boxing experience is playing Activision Boxing around 1979/80 on the Arari-2600 but also see people hitting that bag at the gym so probably a good thing to know in case of close encounters which go beyond harsh language.
Explained very well 👏
This is the best boxing channel.
Some great tips in this one ! Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
This guy is an amazing instructor
I really had to come back to this for Monday
Today is the day where I am learning how to box. For over 10 years I've wanted to start, now at 29 I am gonna start. Wish me luck!
Have you started doing the training and how is it working for you I am 33 and I'm thinking about doing the same thing right now
I'm starting at 46! Hope it's going well for you.

Anytime mate
Top man Tony, love learning from your videos bro 🥊
Glad to hear it ma man!
Thanks for the Video
Anytime ma man!
Great video tony. I do hit pretty lightly as after all my years, I need to watch my shoulders. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Bill!🙌
This dude's form is just perfect
The gym I go to has installed a heavy punch bag so thanks, this is useful.
This is great, I'm 36 and don't know how to work a bag or throw much of a punch at all... taking this to the gym.
Really Helpful man you're best teacher
Happy to help!
Thanks Tony! 💢💢
Love hearing that pop. Rather hear it then feel it.
Love the videos man ❤
Glad you like them ma man!
Thank you Tony! As a beginner this is very informative 🤙👊
No problem mate
I can totally see why your an Olympic champion.Your as smooth and dangerous as it gets.I live in south TX.Boxing gyms and hopes of the promise land are everywhere.I am 62 and simply a lifelong runner. But I did pretend to box 40 years ago in the military. It’s was fun.
I don’t want to spar a basset hound. But the rest of it is golden in terms of health. And you do a great job of drawing people into it.
Great tutorial im not a boxer but this took me to the next level
I have paused on Sally working the speedbag and now refuse to play the rest of the video.
:D Much love and thank you for the insight :: Liked & Subscribed.
Day one of putting on the gloves! I was exhausted. I found out I was going to hard and running out of breath really quickly. The breathing technique I will try and implement next time as well as the hook. thanks so much for the info!
Thank you for your videos
Thanks so much Jon!
Thank u
Than you
I’m usually very skeptical of supplements aside from whey and the usual vitamins but if Tony backs it I’ll try it out. Just ordered some Shroom Tech. Will come back here in a few weeks to share how it affects my workouts.
My bag has a gym and gloves for us to use. I just started hitting it the other day and it feels good. That lead me to search for something like this. I think I’m going to try and stick with it. Not many people use it at the gym, but I like finishing up a workout with it I’ve noticed.
This is great.
Thanks so much ma man!
You can check all my videos here: czcams.com/users/TonyJeffries1videos
Damn, this video solved one of my problems with the bag. thank you so much
Anytime Jack
Good video again tony 👍
Thanks so much ma man!
@@Tony_Jeffries you welcome.... You explain it in the simpliest form where normal people / beginners can understand... you have a great talent...
👍Thanks for that, I learnt a lot. I searched because I"ve got a mild wrist sprain after my first session. My fault, I didn't think to wrap my wrists under the gloves, doh. Total beginner at 60+ wanting to add to my combat workout. You video really helps.
Quick Q, I think the bag at the leisure centre i use is too low, a straight headshot from me to the bag, at my height of 5ft 9'', places my glove where the buckles meet the chain at the top of the bag.
Great video! Couple of questions I have that I haven’t found answers to yet in your comments:
1. Is it ok to work on the bag without gloves?
2. “Lead hand”, does that refer to my strong hand? I’m right-handed, but I notice my left hand is in front, sort of “leading”. I’d guess that my left hand is the leading?
Thank you!
Hi, I'm buying one for my home, I'm hoping it will give me confidence.
I'm a KickBoxer who knows More than just the basics, But even I forget when Hitting a bag - To Move your legs. I seem to only remember Everything when Fighting an Actual Human, But I need to Remember to do the Same things when Training At Home with a Bag.
For The Record, Not a Beginner, But I wanted to Focus on my Footwork. Appreciate the video. I will search your channel for a Professional Video, Not a Beginner One - And Follow Up.
i just inherited a bunching bag, me and my son want to start using it.
Didn’t catch most of that…But that’s because you gave so much info. NOT because it’s a bad video. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Thats for the tutorial, keep safe always🤍
Hi Tony,
Thanks for the video's! I've been working the bag for two months now without wrapping and gloves. No problem there and liking it. Lately on the left index finger at the point of the knuckle I get a little damage of the tissue. Sometime on other fingers to. The knuckles on the hand are fine. I tried wrapping now but then stil the point of the knuckels on the index finger hit the bag. What's your advice on something like that?
Thanks in advance and take care.
Patrick
Love the video! Definitely helped me out. What do You think about training at home vs. joining a gym/working with an instructor? Which would you recommend?
Instructor. One with experience.
Depends if you’ve got money. You don’t? At home. You do? Trainer.
46 and first time using a bag in the gym great mate love your videos
I grew up in the marching band even into college and the heel toe heel toe is like ingrained in me it’s so hard for me ya know
Thx man! 😅
ur so awesome like actually
