Many of his guests would be blacklisted in 2024, from television, sadly. Don Rickles was the best but liberals (not democrats) would be aghast at his jokes... Im grateful for these youtube moments in history.
Who knew this many of the 60s episodes even existed? Thankfully someone had the right mind to try to preserve them (unlike the buffoons at the network). Unfortunately these kinescopes make 1968 look like…1948.
@Video, you should check out the Criterion Collection of vintage rarities including the unbeatable kinescope of Rod Steiger and Nancy Marchand in the original teleplay "Marty" written by Chayefsky basically on commission at the last minute. The quality is much better than this particular example. Ironically, when analog broadcast tv signal was forcibly changed to digital by the govt due to entertainment industry lobby pressure, to better line their pockets by strangling the ability of home viewers to VHS record what they watched on TV, esp at the advent of satellite transmission from around the world, now we GoPro the tv screen. A new version of kinescope is born. Where there's a will, there's a way. ;) Paz.
To be honest I like the nostalgia of the static. I respect that you (and presumably most other people) don’t. There’s just a special feeling I get from hearing static, especially from an old LP.
David Joseph Steinberg (February 12, 1965 - March 16, 2010) was an American actor best known for his role of Meegosh in the 1988 Ron Howard film Willow.
Another rare gem from the 60s. Keep them coming.
I'm an Australian who's here because I'm reading his book. I've never seen anything like this before, what a writer
Please don't stop doing this. The laughs and memories are priceless. Paz.

Thanx so much for sharing!
Always loved David, and,of course, Johnny.
I miss them.
Thanx so very much, darling gentlemen, for the magic and memories.
David was one of my favourite comedians. I loved his intelligent humour.
Same here!
He was always one of Johnny’s favs
Always great to see some of Johnnys work from New York surviving and being preserved. Wish there was more of it around.
Thank you for doing these shows. I love them.
Wonderful video

It does add kind of a nostalgic vibe to though. Maybe there should be a kinescope option on the TV settings. B&W with poorly focused fisheye effect
Never knew or just didn't remember he was Canadian 😊
This is from the way back machine. We memorized David Steinberg 's albums.
I would love to see Stiller & meara appearance. Wasn't that Ann Meara on the couch?
Stiller and Meara
You know, there is audio technology available to take static off old recordings. Perhaps look into it? Thanks.

@@johnvictor1 indeed 👍😊👍
Yes, please. Don't touch it.
It's the way I remember it, when I saw it first-run, on our old black and white tv.
You are referring to no-noise
Grrrrr
M.Mead at JC show? Jeeez😮
Johnny was very different during htis phase of the Tonight Show. It's a great loss to our culture that few tapes from this period survived.
Wow! Margaret Meade was the next guest.
Wow! Meade was tough to open for.
I was so disappointed when the video was over... I would have loved to see her! His co-guests: Anne Meara, Stiller.. !!!
Who’s the actress their! Oh dear…..she looks familiar
That Girl Marlo Thomas
Anne Meara. of Stiller and Meara. parents of Ben Stiller!
Mind boggling that he’s a rabbi’s son
Where is David Steinbreners first appearance?
I've seen it before on CZcams.
I don't have the link, but you can run a search in YT.

A time when people were allowed to speak of God anywhere. And people actually knew their Bibles.
Steinberg was never funny IMHO.
Please enough of these 'first appearances.' Get back to the day-to-day JC shows. This is getting old...
I never liked him.
@@eugeneport1748 Ikr 😂
@@eugeneport1748 Last time i checked, you have to click on a video to make a comment. DUH!
Well he never liked you either.
