Teddy keeps dropping the ball on the Jake Paul topic. He deserves no props... he intentionally calls out 40 year old guys with 30 lbs weight disadvantage because he's a weight bully looking for the easiest fights possible so he can create the illusion of dominance. What respect does he deserve for calling out 50 year Andersona Silva or a 60 year old Mike Tyson? The whole "he had a vision" thing is nonsense, all he did was find a way to legally beat up the elderly.
His "natural KO power" is also a farce. When he fought Tommy Fury... a guy his size and age, his punches turned to pillows. The reason why he seems powerful against those other guys is because they are 40 year old weathered fighters who are fighting 3 weight classes above their natural weight.

To Teddy's point about agreements, Roy Jones Jr was on a podcast and humorously told the audience that "Tyson doesn't know how to (just) play." Roy said that Tyson "has a switch" and then all bets are off.

    • @abdiomar6987

I saw this too during their bout few years. He would just randomly switch aggressively then hug Roy out of remorse
He studied the Greats were talking all the way back to Achilles & Alexander The Great. A true student of the game he simply can't help himself once that "switch" is turned on.

    • @damn0knight

He's said many times that, because he approaches the training seriously, Paul gives the sport respect. Should he manage to avoid getting his head taken off early, he also adds credibility by showing who indeed *shouldn't* be participating.

      @Parallelthinkers Před měsícem +3

Tyson would be the one showing respect to boxing teddy said by taking Paul out. Paul is not showing respect to boxing in the traditional sense but I guess he’s creating his own legacy that his family will definitely respect. He’s pretty courageous overall I mean he measured wrong when he fought Tommy fury as a Mike Tyson fan I hope he’s wrong again. But overall Paul is cool respects.

Spot on w/ Teddy regarding the Tyson v Paul event. When he fought the Great Roy Jones it was obvious he was carrying him when he saw that Roy just didn't have it anymore. BTW I think he carried him because of the great deal of respect he had for Roy. In that short bout he looked like he could contend if he so desired. But for a novice to step in the ring with in which appears to be a wiser, more humble, in-shape but still crazy version of Iron Mike Tyson...dude krazy as hell. I think as a man grows older and if he is honest with himself he realizes items he left on the table. Some if not a lot of regret because of mistakes. And if u r fortunate enough to get a second chance......golden. I think Tyson is that type of dude. As great as Mike Tyson was we never got a chance to see his full potential IMO. I'm military and I have trained men for 31 years. A man IMO and experience does not reach his full potential until at the earliest about 27 and perhaps upto about 32-33. Mental and physical potential matching that is. If Cus would have lived and Teddy and Mike would have stayed together I think Tyson would have been without question the Greatest Boxer/Fighter that there ever was or will be. Dang, Sorry I got off topic. But I think that dude is krazy even if rules are in place to get in the ring with an in-shape and still mentally snap Mike Tyson. Well wishes Teddy. Hard to believe Teddy is approaching Cus's age.

People can just look at legitimate statistics and stop wetting their pants over illegal immigration. The number of illegal immigrants has been between 10mill and 15mil for decades and perhaps now only climbing to a new average.
It's like weather now, people come through seasonally and when there is economic or political problems, and when that happens, that's when you'll see the video clips, photos, and the press and politicians flooding every platform with it.
Freaking out every time there is an uptick in migrants is like freaking out about the first massive snowstorm of the year every year.
Until there is legitimate, functional legislation those most upset about immigration can only cry about it or vote... or get all activist about it.
Way bigger problems in the world, but even coming from someone who invest more time following other issues... immigration will be a festering wound for everyone whether one is "pro" immigration, just flat out is xenophobic to the core so we're going to eventually need new/better legislation just to move on and focus on more important problems.

Tyson will easily beat Paul. It's just his experience that wins. Tyson can only fight in spurts, but he'll likely KO Paul, and people will lose their minds. I have no doubt Tyson wins and all these people who think you can box for 4 years and beat a man with a lifetime of experience will shut up.

The only thing Paul has going for him is if he drags out the fight, he at least threw Tyson off general strategy of going in and finishing off his opponent quickly as possible... what happens from there, at best Paul will win from decision, but is there any way in hell Paul will land more punches?
I'm assuming Paul will be doing alot of hugging and if he really only has that right hand to throw around, he's going to be wielding one weapon whereas Tyson has weapons to throw from every angle.
Tyson still has power, he appears to be faster than Paul from clips floating around, and Tyson can still shuffle in while dodging using his peekaboo technique. It's all still there.

I'm disappointed in the comments that were mad in reference to Hughes being returned home due to traveling on the wrong visa. You guys have a big influence in the lives of many people and should not encourage people to lie to federal officers in order to circumvent the system. I understand your feelings towards Hughes having to leave and return once he had his correct documentation. Hughes' team failed him. They should've known better. I know you guys would not lightly joke and advise people to lie to local PD in order to get out of trouble. The southern border has many issues and honestly is highly under staffed. The only ones who can change that are our politicians, not the officers. Not only good intentioned people listen/ watch you guys.

There was 100% an agreement with Jones. No big headshots. Also, tysons better now than at the end of his career imho for the simple fact that tyson was literally partying, staying up all night for days with "ladies of the night" etc and not remotely living like a fighter. Now that hes off the $rugs etc hes training and sparring full time like a fighter and i saw really good fluid movement etc vs jones. To be an in fighter and rely on head movement, and (this applies to fighting period actually lol) getting inside, or at least driving your opponent back constantly. Constantly beating them to the jab wash and repeat until youre close enough to let the hands go. The timing and effectiveness/efficiency of bobbing and weaving and slipping and having shots miss by a hair, takes a ton of sparring and drilling over and over until its instinctual. You can tell when someone's moving there head but having to consciously think and tell there body to vs someone whos bobbing and weaving, slipping without having to think about it is the latter will seem to appear to have known the shots they avoided were coming.

I really wish Teddy would have compared technique of Paul vs Tyson, not just age power being the last thing to go, the state of boxing and youtube fame nonsense... enough people are doing that already.
Everyone is fixated on the same talking points. I know Paul has taken boxing serious enough that he is continually getting better, but I'd like to have had some insight from Teddy as to how far that progress has come...
Can Paul's right hand and "youth" win him the fight or does a 58 year old Tyson still with 100 tricks in his bag expressed through his peekaboo style going to overwhelm Paul before Tyson tires out?
Also, the "Tyson factor." Yes, Tyson is in a better place, older, less strong, but at any moment the worst part of Tyson could come out... for Paul's sake, Tyson having a home a family to return to might save him from Tyson off the rails mentally. Paul is like "Jackass" crazy, but Tyson has experienced real life crazy, not just "bro, staple this sheet of paper to your forehead."

"Tyson is regarded as one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time.[6] He reigned as the undisputed world heavyweight champion from 1987 to 1990. Tyson won his first 19 professional fights by knockout, 12 of them in the first round. Claiming his first belt at 20 years, 4 months, and 22 days old, Tyson holds the record as the youngest boxer ever to win a heavyweight title.[7] He was the first heavyweight boxer to simultaneously hold the WBA, WBC and IBF titles, as well as the only heavyweight to unify them in succession. The following year, Tyson became the lineal champion when he knocked out Michael Spinks in 91 seconds of the first round."
AFTER MIKE GETS OUT OF PRISON:
"After his release in 1995, he engaged in a series of comeback fights, regaining the WBA and WBC titles in 1996 to join Floyd Patterson, Muhammad Ali, Tim Witherspoon, Evander Holyfield and George Foreman as the only men in boxing history to have regained a heavyweight championship after losing it"
As Ozzy Man said: "Has anyone told Jake Paul he's f*cked?"

Tyson was a great finisher but he wasn't a great fighter-Teddy Atlas. On the JRE podcast Teddy explains how Tyson's talent was so great at taking fighters out of there that when it came time to overcome diversity he failed every time. In other words Tyson has never came back from an ass whipping and won the fight.....great finisher not a great fighter.

Jake Paul has already shown his ignorance by saying all Tyson has is his power. If that isn't bad enough,Tyson still moves really well from side to side with his head movement. I don't believe this will be a real fight. If it is, Tyson is going to go for a knockout and fast. Jake Paul may have a decent right hand, but that does not necessarily translate into the higher weight class. He's putting on weight, which will slow him down. Tyson still has good hand speed and the combinations are precise and powerful. Jake Paul punches with wide shots and a lot of arm punches.

Teddy Atlas knows this to be faxed because he trained Mike Tyson to do this he trained him to be a killer and once a killer always a killer and as you can see Teddy Atlas got them fast hands for these young men out here that got about the same testosterone he does and he probably got more testosterone than you do even with knee problems he can hit you three times before you hit the floor that's why I be trying to tell you don't be messing with these old men because these old men got something for you they ain't going to fight you they going to put you in the dirt even if it's with their fists are they going to try to do it as fast as possible with as accurate as speed as possible this is where experience comes in
