@@ceesklumper While it is true that (Mike) Tyson defeated opponents that had more reach, he also seemed to struggle more with the ones where the reach difference was bigger (Buster Douglas, Lennox Lewis, and of course Evander Holyfield). Also, I feel that at the time, the level of skill difference between Mike Tyson vs most of his opponents was much bigger. Add the weight difference... I'd think the odds definitely favor Fury here; I'm surprised that the bookies do not give him more advantage.

There are weight classes at 130, 135, 140, 147, etc., even 5 lbs is enough to recognize an advantage -- but once they hit heavyweight, now a 50 or 60 lb (or more) difference is OK. It's crazy.

This gets into something very interesting. In philosophy and history of science (and scientific methods), it's a recognized fundamental aspect of science that you check and verify. You are very careful about whether or not something is true, and careful about what you believe to be true.
In this case, check and verify whether Foreman was mostly hitting Ali's arms. In the pre-science days, people would go more with the narrative, the story, the imagination, the theory, or what they thought - and then they would just assume it to be true; and they would neglect to check it, test it, verify it with direct (empirical) observations.
If you actually watch the fight, Foreman was not mostly hitting Ali's arms.
Not only that, but he was connecting with power shots.
People do this often, including in their daily lives and relationships. They get caught up in thoughts and ideas, without checking them carefully.

@@ripper9112 how Fury looked against Wilder shouldn't be a measure of Fury's ability. Wilder can't box. Wilder looked like complete shit in their second and third fight. Wilder gassed out in that second fight because he put too much muscle on. Wilder has a KO punch, that's all. For Usyk, Fury trained his ass off this fight and cut weight. Took the fight seriously and fought at his best. If age was an excuse, Fury would have made us all aware of it. Fury is not particularly active as a champion so aging is not going to slow him down like it would for a guy whose been fighting 3-4 fights a year. Also just looking at Fury years back, Usyk just looks like a better fighter. He's got Fury beat in all the departments. Fury just has size on him. And then Fury got beat by Ngannou but Ngannou got robbed on the scorecards. Fury is an average champion who never fought any real fighters except for Usyk...he beat second rate fighters like Klitschko, David Haye, Wilder and Chisora. He reigned in a period of time where the Heavyweight division was at its worst.

Usyk is gonna step or shuffle in whilst slipping that long jab (lead foot on the outside), that Fury doesn’t pull back to his face because he’s defensively under skilled, and pop him clean with either an extended overhand or a straight left and because he’s slipping a shot and Tyson isn’t fast enough to react, Usyk will sit down on iit and sit Fury down.

Fury slimmed down having no fear of being knocked out whatsoever. I think it is going to throw Usyk off to see Fury bouncing and movingforward, back, left and right as much as Usyk is and fury is going to keep popping Usyk from way outside and I see Usyk showing signs of frustration throughout as he just can't get in his rhythm to be able to do his offensive work and trying to use his footwork to lure the Gypsy King into traps. Tyson is going to fill those moments with raps on the little Ukrainians forehead. Size & skill will cause frustration, which will lead to low sing his cool and Fury will stop his will in the 10th.

One factor people seem to forget is that Fury is a sucker for looping overhand shots thrown by smaller opponents ( he can't see them coming ) he's been dropped TWICE by them in the past. Usyk will definitely have been practicing them. Usyk is weak to body Fury is gonna try KO him like Dubois did 💯 Fury has only been able to body spar for this camp because of the cut aswell coincidentally. So im saying Usyk drops Fury early on Fury gets up regroupd and stops Usyk in round 8 or 9.

I disagree that the reason why people do not know who the Heavyweight champ is. PPV is a pay wall that has ostracized the core fan base which is middle class down. In the 1980's everyone knew who the champ was. Today, you could ask 100 people and you might get 1 who knows. This is also why Boxing's talent pool is at all time lows. Kids all over used to shadow box and want to emulate their favorite fighters. When the pay wall was put up it cut off the talent pool from boxing.

ROPE A DOPE TEDDY! Come on man even Sugar Ray Leonard used the size of the ring as an advantage. I get it Atlas likes the hype and the spectacle, but man he forgets that boxers use every dynamic they can create and muster to use as an advantage. Sometimes what your adversary dismisses as just technicalities can be a tool to utilize in WAR. Strategy is just as important skill as jabbing, countering and fighting dirty. Especially in the heavys were you have to throw everything youve got at your disposal including the kitchen sink to win. By all means necessary!

Usyk’s hand speed and lateral movement will tell the tale. He’s not going to out strengthen Fury or bully him in there. He’s got to outslick him on the angles. Joshua is a straighter and sharper puncher than Fury, and he was able to out hustle him for 24 rounds. Fury has to make Usyk come straight to him and be quick enough to counter him on the way in. I think Usyk is just too slippery and smart to fall for that. We’ll see!
