    I spent a couple days with the refreshed 2021 Nissan Kicks and found out some things that I really loved and hated about it! The entry level crossover in the Nissan lineup brings some impressive features like Safety Shield 360, surround view cameras and heated steering wheel/front seats. It doesn't make much power, especially with some of the cars I am used to, but is impressively efficient and simple. With new cars getting more and more expensive, the Kicks is a great first car option, or just a practical form of transportation with nicely designed features!

      Don't drive a small commuting car if you're into an Escalade. You said almost 5 times this Kicks was slow. OK we got it. A good review? No, sorry. When a reviewer complains of a 1.6 L engine not coupled with 4 wheel drive, hmmm....Not a word on braking, sound of the audio system, wind noise and tire noise, seats confort, driving in normal condition due to the low power of the engine. All infos I would have liked to know. Shows that you're not in your element.

      Got one as a rental and I hated it at first because it felt cheap and slow. After driving it for a while though I realized it handles pretty well when you thrash on it and it will still hit over 100 even though it takes a long time to reach that point and it's pretty comfortable

    I have a 2012 Nissan Sentra S with over 212,000 miles on it. Never had an issue with the original CVT. I changed the fluid every 60,000 miles as required in the owner’s manual. Nissan is capable to be reliable as Toyota and Honda. You haters should learn how to read a manual and drive a car properly and you won’t have any problems long term.

      Still not as reliable as the brands you mention my 2009 altima hybrid just sitting in my driveway now as the converter is broken and my brother versa 2014 130k miles is on its second transmission, replace at 90k. Car also seems to have a steering problem at 70-80 mph. Had a 2012 quest that needed a new radiator as well. My other brother had a 2016 sentra left ball joint fall of luckily in a parking instead of a highway. Not the best brand, but the converter is the only real problem I had other than the infamous evap sensor needing to be replaced. Nissans are just cheap.

    I have taken 2021 March edition of Kicks XV Premium CVT Turbo Petrol day before yesterday(₹17,45,000 - $24,000). Not cheap or expensive for what it offers compared to Hyundai CRETA or Seltos which are even more expensive by ₹4,00,000-₹5,00,000(around $7000) . I like the HSA, Vehicles Dynamic Stability, Traction control, Tinted Glass, auto stop & star all in all great package and great ride quality in my place where roads are not like US. I love this car, the way it looks with the two tone, works great on how it handles, compact to fit in tight places and the 360 camera along with the bass add on speakers in the trunk - I wanted to buy the car but unfortunately at 13k miles I was at a red light and the car engine just stopped - the car just jilted and stopped - when I turned on the car everything went back to normal - but I’m concerned safety wise and won’t be keeping this. Sad but it’s not worth anyone’s safety! I’ve googled if anyone else had the same issue like I did and there are quite a few people that this happened too! Nissan needs to fix this!!!

    I think the reason the Kicks doesn’t have AWD is because the Qashqai/Rogue Sport does. Back when the Juke was around, it was the Juke and then the Rogue. Today, in North America, both the Qashqai and the Kicks fill the Juke’s position. Since the Qashqai has AWD, I guess Nissan assumes you’ll chose it instead, if you really want AWD.

I took the HPS intake for the Versa, and basically just cut the end of it off, from about an inch past the hole where the mass airflow sensor gets bolted into. Then I just took out all the crap that was already in the engine bay of the kicks, I also took out some of the plastic that was preventing air from getting in the engine bay. Then I basically took the piece of the Versa intake that I cut and plugged it right into the rubber tube that comes out of the engine. Then I just made a little brace out of a piece of metal 2 give the intake a little bit of support. Since the stock intake tube is mostly rubber it's not quite as loud of an intake, but the rubber doesn't conduct heat the way the aluminum does so it keeps the temperature down. I don't know it off the top of my head but if you want I can look up the K&N cone filter model number. The whole setup works really well better than stock the only thing is I have two filters because I have to clean them pretty regularly for some reason. My wife has a 2015 Nissan Versa Note. A few months ago we finally paid it off. I had been seeing reviews of the Kicks and have driven a couple recent Altimas as rentals, and have been thinking Nissan has been improving things a lot recently and wondering if we should replace hers with a Kicks or perhaps a new Versa sedan or Sentra. However, I do worry about the CVT and about other quality issues. At 66k miles, it's started making some groaning/creaking sounds over large bumps, and it's also developed some interesting rattles in the past year or so. The creaking could just be bushings, to be fair. But yeah now I am not sure if I'd recommend getting another one. Maybe they've improved the CVT. Overall I'd say the Versa Note has been a "good car" - reliable, easy to drive, and gets good MPG. However, it does feel cheap inside, which is exacerbated by the noise, and it has never been a fun car. A solid "meh" for me. Not as bad as you might think, but also nothing outstanding.

    I test drove a Kick yesterday, and what stopped me from getting it, was that when I took it onto the freeway, and needed acceleration to merge onto a busy road, IT WASN’T THERE!! I began to panic as cars doing 65+ were fast approaching and I was about to be run off the road! Country roads are fine, but I live where daily freeway driving is a part of life. This car isn’t cut out for that kind of driving! Be Aware!!

    • @Jan96106
      @Jan96106 Před rokem

      Yes, it is lightweight, so the wind does blow it slightly on the expressway. Some trucks also give it a slight push. You can avoid that problem by going slower. It is not a car you want to speed in. Also, the visibility is so good, you can see the crazy things other drivers are doing, which is kind of scary.

    The ONLY good thing about this car is the fuel economy. Power, comfort, fit and finish are all very lacking. I cant understand how anyone can like this car. It drives like butt cheeks. I have to spend 8-12 hours a day in one for work and you couldn't pay me to own one. Even the fuel economy is garbage when you compare it to Honda or Toyota. Or any other mid size sedan or crossover. And you get more power. Hell, a base honda accord hybrid get 10 extra mpgs than this car and has way more power.
