One of the best iconic songs from an earlier era in music when music was great unlike today's screeching noise
What I love about this song is the arrangment reminds you of a dream..what we call playing for effect--A lost art among today's music. Keep digging in the 70's Sarah, there' still a lot you haven't discovered yet!
This song came out in the early 70's. The voice is Steven Tyler. The band was still touring until recently. Steven had a throat surgery. There is so much Aerosmith music I don't even know what to recommend next. Anyone else?
Kings and Queens
@@Rasmuth Oh yeah, good one! And that made me think of Seasons of Wither. You're pretty much going to get a winner with any of their songs.
Janey's Got A Gun
Aerosmith was great until the late 80's. Then they got commercial. "Janey's got a gun"? My Momma's got one, too! So, do I. So what? They just went to total SHIT! Stick with the older material! Like "Train Kept a 'Rollin'" and a boatload of other stuff, as Joe Walsh would say, "I couldn't name ya!" Try "Combination," off of "Rocks." Cool guitar licks!
Hall of Fame music here. Originally composed when the singer was just 17, IIRC. Rock is often a combination of influences, and in this case, classical music is a big influence.
He was a teenager when he wrote this, one of rock's most iconic tunes.
This album came out in 1973. The first album I ever bought. I was 9 years old. Still ranks as one of my favorites
Sarah you are a Rocker. Thanks for putting a smile on an old mans face today ❤
It still amazes me that they wrote such a deep, timeless anthem so early in their career. It's hard to top that.
I believe Steven Tyler wrote Dream On when he was 16. Of all of Aerosmiths' songs, this is still my favorite, from their debut album.
Aerosmith was a quintessential element of what was called “album rock”, where you bought the whole album and listened to it song by song, side to side, in order, because every track was better than the last.
Most rock bands still come out with albums. Alot of modern bands here right now too
@@allensaunders449I think they mean how modern music is single driven more than full albums. There's a big push in the industry for big, quick hits that make the company money, but aren't always good for the artist long term, rather than a lovingly constructed album that tells a story.
LOVE watchn you sing n jive to a tune you like. Thats the 🔥🔥🔥
Golly had this song stuck in head the other day. So brilliant. And deep.
Your's is the best reaction on here.
It makes me jealous to see somebody hear something like this for the first time us old guys been listening to it since it came out still a great song
This is from Aerosmith's first album. It came out when I was in college and it is one of those albums that every song is great! Thanks !
Saw them when they toured with Motley Crue in the mid 2000's and they were right on point. Sounded incredible and put on an amazing show. Tyler killed it. Love Aerosmith!
The 60 & 70's literally ROCKED! I hope more and more of the current generations continue to discover the music of artists of those days.
I grew up in those decades, and loved it. But i think there is still new bands that rock like stars out there. I feel that one just have to get past that mainstream production music. then you will find real good bands. Actually one of favorite bands right now is The warning. And I'm an old guy. but they make me feel 20 again.
Otis Redding ,,, I've been loving to long....😄😄
One of the best rock-metal band🤘
70s still rock’s! ❤🙏🥂👊
I am 66 and first heard this song back in my High School days at the prom with my fiance.
Hi, from SoCal. This is a great song! I just found your channel. Your reactions are so genuine and refreshing! Thank you for posting and looking forward to future songs.
I love this song from my high school days. Thanks Sarah ❤🙏🏼
One of the greatest bands ever. Check them out live. They have countless classics
My older sister went to a school dance. It was Aerosmith before they had a recording contract!
This song plays everywhere.
Such a brilliant song... vocalist Steve Tyler wrote these words of wisdom when he was a teenager. Enjoy a deep dive into Aerosmith's music.
Steve Tyler was classically trained on piano in his young years. Fun Fact.
I feel sorry for those that couldn't experience the musicians of the era from about 1957 to 1971 or 72. These songs were "anthems" for most of us then. These musicians truly influenced my life in so many ways and I can now still look back and see many examples of that personally. Truth was sung in that time, it's no surprise that we all either miss or long for that again. Love.
Saw them live more times than I can count or remember, always a party
Aerosmith is one of the great rock bands. Steven Tyler has an amazing voice.
How do you make a Beautiful Woman Gorgeous?
Well Miss Sarah, In your case, play an old Rock song with a Spiritual message in it!
Thank You for sharing your wonderful smile and expressions of joy.
With Love and Respect, You are in my prayers
Hoka Hey
Loved this song since my early childhood
Saw them in 1987 and one of the best concerts I have seen.
Who opened?
Another part of the soundtrack of my life. Memories.
I love your reactions. You are a sweetheart. Aerosmith was one of my favorite bands back in the day. Still is. You should try out some Bad Company. You'll love that band. Try rock steady to start with
I did see Aerosmith in 1975 awesome!
There is a couple of songs by Aerosmith I do like!
As a soundbite that would be EPIC SIR!!! lol
Bad boys of Boston enjoy
No autotune nolipsync
For me probably their best song.
Still have the original LP I bought back in 1973. Aerosmith: Steven Tyler-Vocals, Joe Perry-Guitar, Brad Whitford-Guitar, Tom Hamilton-Bass and Joey Kramer-Drums. Originally formed in New Hampshire, they moved to Boston, Mass., practiced hard, got a record contract with CBS, and hit the road, touring almost non stop for three years. Releasing albums every year until 1977. Many, many great songs, blues based Rock and Roll. Later, MTV and the ballads happened. Oh well.
I think I have all the 70's Aerosmith vinyl. I'll have to take a few days to go through it all sometime. I'm sure there's stuff I don't even remember.
If you paid attention..there ws MUCH more than the ballads. T
I know Terry, I last saw them live in 2001, but it was all the ballads and MTV stuff that got all the pub. i checked out all their stuff, I just like their earlier stuff much better. It had more life to it, more guts.
❤Love the songs you play! God Bless!
❤🤘
CLASSIC
Kings and queens is my favorite
It's good that you listen to the studio version instead of a live performance. But really you should have listened to this studio version with the lyrics, a lyric video.
She's reading the lyrics though.
REO Speed wagon golden country
❤❤❤
"Oh, sing with me, this mournful dub
Sing with me, sing for a year
Sing for the laughter, and sing for the tear
Sing with me, if it's just for today"
Please check out Love is your name from Aerosmith. It's a song that touched my soul.
Steven Tyler wrote this when he was SIXTEEN.
They played the whole song.👍👍👍
Great reaction. You.need to do a reaction on Dream On with Jayden Rylee she iß the girl with blonde hair.
Thank you Sara
You get to hear the scream...
Great voice.. Beautiful Sarah
🔥🔥🔥🔥
I´m mainly from the 70´s generation of rock music, but this was my first time to find out about who made this song. So i´m happy to discover, that Aerosmith is from now on my favorite heavy rock band after the great bands from the 70´s, Like Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple. I´m pretty sure Aerosmith is inspired by them
Check out him even now ,his style, life store one of a kind...
Try "Layla" by Derek and the Dominos. NOT the unplugged Eric Clapton version!
Marvelous song and band!! Awesome reaction!!😅
Thanks Pa 😊
"Dream On" is certainly one of Aerosmith's greatest hits! There is also a great cover version of this song by "Postmodern Jukebox, ft. Morgan James"

Watch the live version
There are hundreds off old time Rock stations look it up
I saw them in concert 1976 at the three rivers stadium in Pittsburgh. They tore the stadium down since then. Steven Tyler the lead singer was so messed up that they had to give him some time to sober up. It was the bicentennial concert. ZZ Top and point blank was there also
- One of my favorite bands! :)
It's been played for the last 50 years....
This song is one reason Joe Perry calls Steven the demon of screaming
Steven Tyler wrote this song when he was 15!!!!😮😮😮
What u probably heard was not a cover, but a sample by Eminem for a song from Eight Mile movie
The first time I saw Aerosmith was in my HIGH SCHOOL GYMNASIUM TICKET $5.oo in Massachusetts 1975
Eminem sampled it in ‘Sing for the Moment’
And this was some of their early work.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Check out "Over My Head" by King's X, please. I think you'll like it.
Led Zeppelin Girl
👍👍
Ti seguo da poco.
Ma davvero è la prima volta che senti questo brano?
More like from 1957 to 1988
Screaming those high notes unfortunately severly damaged the larynx. Tour is postponed til it heals...a long time.
Glad they let Eminem use this as well.
Off the same album, you got to react to "One Way Street". The talent of this band is off the charts. Today's music absolutely sucks compared to the old 70s Aerosmith.
They were a great studio band. Live performances back in the 70s were constantly voted the worst
I used to think...' how have you NOT heard it.' Then shit got REAL dumb....
Check out their song Dude looks like a lady.
OVERPLAYED and over hyped.
Back in the 80s when I was living in Worcester Massachusetts on the second floor of the house I was living in, the family living on the 1st floor were the D'Angelos. in the 70s Brothers Jimi and Joe D'Angelo were in a band called Mad Angel. They lost the battle of the bands contest against Aerosmith because of this song. Joe D'Angelo was offered by Steven Tyler to be on Aerosmith, but he turned the offer down to be with Mad Angel. Although Mad Angel was a very good band and had several songs I thought were more than good enough for a record deal they never made an album and broke up after a few years. Jimi later in a band called August put out a single called Single Man, which I always thought was a great song, but I no longer have a copy of it. Joe became my guitar teacher in the 80s when I was learning how to play. I would write lyrics and bring them to my lesson and we would record music to the lyrics I had written. I had aspirations of getting my music out to the world, but never did.
Try this song.PHD.I won't let you down.
The song belongs in the song hall of fame---actually a classic and better than any Aerosmith Song, ever.
