My SPN8-W subwoofer was not connecting at all, it would power on, pairing light would come on for a bit and then go off. I sent the PCB to Quyen to see if it was the same issue others had reported. My SPN5-W subwoofer was not powering on. After calling LG to find out the repair was $200 (with no warranty) I decided to do some research. I came across this video and reading the other reviews I decided to put my trust with Quyen. I shipped him my motherboard on 5/8 and received it back on 5/12. My spn8-w has been cutting in and out. The sound goes flat and then comes back - perhaps the wireless subwoofer continuously disconnects and reconnects. Is this something that is fixable?

Hey Quyen, the sub with my SN11RG works but is constantly disconnecting (along with the rear L speaker). Is this a fault with the sub and something you could repair? I have read that the sub being too close to the router is the cause, but moving it doesn't seem to help.

AFAIK my sub is not connected to the internet, how did LG manage to break it with a software update?
Also, if your repair the board, do we need to do anything to ensure the firmware doesn't try again for an update?
When you first got your soundbar you added your Wi-Fi and forgot about it. Or you used the lg app. I’m sure LG corrected the update but either way I use it only has a soundbar and I also block the soundbar on my router.

hi my original SN9YG's subwoofer SPN8-W is chewed by dog. I have an old defective SPN5B-W subwoofer, can SPN5B-w be repaired/Rom update and use with SN9YG???
It is backwards compatible. They are identical. Turn off the soundbar. Plug in the subwoofer and immediately on the back push the pairing button it should rapidly flash. Then turn on the soundbar. Will pair in under 30 seconds.

I have the SN6Y soundbar, it just stopped paring today. I've done everything, now the paring light just flashes non stop even after it being unplugged for 10+ mins. I never updated my soundbar...I didn't even know they would be connected to the internet...would this even fix mine? My sub is only two years old.

Probably not. You can disconnect the power on the other one and probably still doesn’t work. Each sub has there own daughter board to pair to separate sound bars.
