Interesting. I have a SP8A with a subwoofer that disconnects and pops frequently. I had suspected that these were firmware issues but hardware is plausible as well. I like what I see here and I would send mine to you, but I live very very far away from the US. So just to see if I understand it, the LG specified PN suffers from interference which causes the issues. Your fix involves removing the EEPROM, reading the binary, flashing it to another IC (of a more reliable PN) and soldering the new IC in place. Is that right? I might take a stab at fixing it myself, the disconnects drive me absolutely insane. Thanks! .

Great video! My SPN8-W Sub has always been flakey since a LG firmware update years ago, constantly connects and disconnects to the sound bar over and over. It's common and most say it's wifi interference but even if I put it in the lease wifi'y area, directly near the sound bar it still randomly disconnects, really jarring in the movie to suddenly have the bass cut out and in over and over every 30-60 seconds. Could this kind of fault be caused by software/firmware or a eeprom problem? Or a faulty daughter board? Anyone ever tried moving the board outside the sub for a better connection or hardwiring it somehow? Really want to save it but really useless in its current condition

I have the issue with subwoofer, I don’t k ow it gets paired(solid light appears) when switched on but there is no sound in subwoofer, it only comes from bar…. What would be the solution?

I bought my SN5R 4.1 soundbar used on buy and sell. the sub ended up not turning on one day 2 weeks later. Frustrated I searched for alternatives and it lead me here. I sent my board off my sub to Quyen he had it fixed immediately once he received it and also gave me confirmation he got it and fixed it I received it in Canada less then a week later. Quyen saved the day back in 2023.. for some reason, my LG Subwoofer was bricked and... after finding him online (maybe through Reddit forums? can't remember for sure), his instructions were SUPER EASY to follow for removing the board. Sent it to him, and received it back in a week or so (I'm in SoCal), reinstating my LG subwoofer's active status in the TV room. Highly recommended!!

I got the same sound bar and the light stays solid green and is not doing anything, cant even get it to go into pairing mode

Hey Quyen, the sub with my SN11RG works but is constantly disconnecting (along with the rear L speaker). Is this a fault with the sub and something you could repair? I have read that the sub being too close to the router is the cause, but moving it doesn't seem to help.
