    This is one of the rare ones. A beautiful and solid little casting of the Morris Minor, one of the most 'quintessentially British' cars around. Two models go up for restoration this time, one dusty, unloved and rusted, while the other has been repainted - not terribly but not brilliantly either. I hesitated whether to restore these as they are a bit like hens teeth, but luckily as they were both in fairly poor condition I didn't have to pay a premium for them. One gets a full restoration while the other gets a custom paint job with some of those intricate details highlighted. It is a minor miracle!
    Hopefully this series will track my progress and aid me becoming a better modeller. There are plenty more videos to come and I have a big selection to choose from for future restorations. Please like and subscribe to be informed of new content first.

    My Dad had a Morris Minor way back when I was a kid, 1961. It was a blu-ish color like yours. It had a hole in the middle of the front bumper where a hand crank could be inserted on to crank start the engine by hand. It was a tiny thing. My Dad liked it.

    Two nice restorations, By the way, the Traveller estate was only a two door, unless of course you're counting the rear doors to the load area.

  • @pimpmydiecastsdiecastandto3176

    only just learned recently that matchbox made a minor ..amazing really as I grew up in the 60s 70s and the real minor made it to the 70s and was hugely popular so surprising matchbox didn't have it as a range staple fodder piece

    Excellent job. The lesney Morris is a great old casting and I’m lucky enough to own the first tan/brown version.

    Very nice. We have one of these. Marking on the bottom of ours says NO16 up near the front bumper. I'm trying to find info on what that number relates to.

      @DieCastRestos  Před 4 lety +1

      That is interesting, do you reckon it could be the number 4 has been damaged in any way? It wasn't all that clear it was a number 46 on the model I showed on camera so that could be a possibility. Or a casting error that hasn't been widely reported perhaps?

    • @NaughtyGoatFarm
      @NaughtyGoatFarm Před 4 lety

      @@DieCastRestosactually you are correct. On closer inspection it does say 46.
