I am a survivor of incest, I was r*ped by my father when I was 7 years old. He still hasn’t been charged. My case isn’t less important because it is seen as “less common” or “1% of cases” so many other young women and little girls go through similar situations and never tell their story. @twocathome399 She conveniently forgets that emotional abuse even exists as it is very hard to prove unless they do it in writing or you catch it in some kind of recording. There is no physical proof of emotional abuse. So to Pearl, women should get married SUPER young, as virgins (before they even have a fully developed frontal lobe), before they know how to spot all the red flags, and then stay married forever to emotionally abusive, financially abusive, or toxic mutually abusive homes. Only when the abuse is one sided and they press charges shall she leave. Same for men. Because they are abused too. Emotional abuse is more common coming from a woman that I see... and that isn't even mentioned.

I actually work within the UK Family Court system and I cannot explain how frustrating it is to hear her assert things about said system she doesn’t understand. You DO need evidence in the family court, bloody lots of it!! And that evidence will be tested IN COURT. You also need evidence to receive the legal aid or to access the “uk law that gives you a free lawyer if you claim abuse”. Also, the UK law puts keeping contact between parents (father or mother) as an extremely high priority, which can only be overcome by the best interests of the child. It is almost always assumed keeping contact between the child and parent is in the child’s best interest. I’ve seen cases where the father HAS gone to prison for domestic violence and STILL is given contact by the court. She has absolutely no idea what she’s talking about and has taken the legal aid process completely out of context without understanding its function at all. Also find it crazy that she is only okay with divorce with one sided abuse… so if you have a couple abusing each-other they should each have to continue to remain in their very clearly toxic relationship and live with their abuser???
