Happy for Ian graduating to creative director but I will truly miss him switching. He had perfect comedic timing and was making me laugh so much with random things like paning to empty seats on purpose or showing the "thanks for watching" screen when Ethan was going on for too long... he was so funny without even saying a single word and added lots of character to the show!
Hope we get to see him more in other context though.

TELL ME ABOUT IT. I had autoplay on while I was SLEEPING, woke up, recognized Olivia's voice, and opened my fucking eyes to THIS.
I don't want to sound like a broken record, however everyone else is right. The set has no personality. The old set was chaotic, people overtop each other, but it had charm. Each crew member's own little backdrop with goofs and gaffs, cardboard cutouts of Zuk, AB's jersey, etc. All these little inside jokes and trinkets that made the show what it was. That would be my suggestion going toward is to incorporate all those little personal touches into each crew member's set-up.
It’s a work in progress I’m sure the going to add more shit. Like Dan said they still got more to do they were just setting up to do the show Monday was the main focus

I love Sam and acknowledge her amazing hustle and artistry! I think the main problem with the set is the mismatch of colour TONES! The base colours (purple, red, blue) have potential to compliment each other, but we have a cobalt blue (neutral), cool tone purple and a rich red are all clashing with one another and causing the purple curtains to appear very washed out and sickly. It may be as simple as a lighting change or colour grading! (Not sure how this works on live video but I’m sure you guys do). Plus the skyline on the green screen has very bright, neon colours that also don’t compliment the choices of both the deep curtain colours and the washed out purple.
No hate! It’s a big change and Dan did say it was a rush job to pull it together. Considering the volume of set changes, it’s absolutely awesome how much was completed in such a short window of time. I love the show and am coming from a place of love❤

totally, its not the colors exactly but the undertones of said colors. it makes it look more mismatched and tacky than it would otherwise. i have faith in the new set but i think there is some tweaking i hope they eventually do to make it more pleasant visually

I know change is hard and maybe we will all get used to it, but man do I hate the new set. The different backgrounds for each crew member and the changing green screen is what made this show special. Mainstream late night shows are dying out for a reason, they lack personality and follow the same stale format. The new set seems like it's trying too hard to be like a mainstream show and it loses what made this show special to begin with. No hate on the name change though, H3 show total makes sense.

Agreed! And I hope Sam doesn’t feel badly- some times projects don’t hit and that’s okay. I’m sure it makes sense behind the scenes, but to viewers it’s so jarring. I liked everyone’s little cubby holes that felt like them- this somehow shatters the illusion and makes it look more like a poorly done set. It’s so hard to explain.

Daisy is everything 🙌🏻 The way you can see she starts to get emotional when talking about what Walter “sold” her about the baby, but she composes herself nonchalantly and keeps going. What a strong, articulate, beautiful woman. And she would never get this reception on another podcast. The first thing they tell her is they love her blazer and she looks great. So genuine ❤ I honestly love H3 and them giving her a platform. She deserves this.

I’m so sorry to say this but in the interest of tough love I have to say that the set looks horrible. I know it’s a work in progress and that’s good but here’s some constructive criticism. The desks in the main shot are great, super cool classic late night vibe. The new layout for the crew is cool, it feels more open and interactive. But the curtains. They look like cheap prom decorations in a high school gymnasium. Especially in Ethan’s shot, the curtains are just so tacky and bad, that should just be all green screen, keep the plant if you want, I think it’s fun. But everything is so uniform, there’s no personality. I see what you were going for, but you’ve missed the mark, keep trying though. Love ya, no homo ❤️
Yea it’s kind of hard on the eyes as well. I sometimes watch the podcast when I’m going to sleep and the bright colours are just off putting and not giving chill vibes. I miss the bunny with the trees lol

So sad about the new set.. It looks like a low budget parody of a late night show.. I miss the personality, cosiness, and bright colours, and how the crew had their own backgrounds that showed their personality. AB with his lights, Cam with his flowers, Lena with her colourful gradient.. The colours now feel so desaturated, and the set feels alot more bland, tacky, and depressing. I appreciate all the hard work that went into creating a new space, two weeks is no time at all to be able to create something so different, but I hope with more time you are able to put something together that reflects your show, rather than imitates the outdated vibes of a late night show.. Which.. Most of us don't watch late night shows for a reason.. Love you guys x

What was the set like prior to Cam arriving? Seriously, something seemed off with his departure, and this is striking me as something they perhaps were obligated to do in connection with his departure. I almost think Cam's tweet in Nov., especially given the fallout with Ethan and Hasan over the same topic, started a round of negotiations in connection with him leaving, either by choice or not. I've seen many company departures go down in my life that were not as they appeared on the surface, and Cam's departure was 100% one of those.

So, who watched Blue Velvet over the break? Because that is what the new set is giving. Like, with peace and love, the vibes are SO off now. The green screen backdrops where 100% better imo and more versatile aswell. This set feels like Ethan turned 50 over the break. Im not usually a hater but the set is just depressing now imo. 😭

@@varanchio I think for a while now all the shows (after dark, off the rails, h3tv and the occasional regular podcast for some guest episodes) have been progressing into this one specific show. every one of them is live now, there's not that much difference between them, it's just the H3 show, 'TSIT!

I like the name change and I do understand that the set is not quite finished but I gotta say, what I love about this show is how you can see a bit of each crew member’s personality through their background and how instead of a “late night show” its more of a homey/cozy vibe.
Even Ethan has said in the past that the moment that youtube shows start to look super produced or look like mainstream shows it makes them look less genuine and quite generic.
I am not complaining about change, change can be good but as someone who has been watching this show since the very first episode, I gotta say, it just feels off

I love how abstract it is visually, and i think it will pair beautifully with additional tattoos. i think part of why people have such a reaction to it is because it’s the ONLY thing on your leg, but if you decide on any more in the future and chose a leg placement, it wouldn’t feel so out of place. at any rate, i’ve always wanted to get a tat of my future kid’s art, but the context of yours is even better. love love love it! 🤗

4 yr member here. its already been said but the set makes me want to look away. i've never liked superheroes, the shooting star dynamic background is so rigid and blocky. the plants are especially awful. might as well go back to the full greenscreen of running water or something, this is SO stiff. yall are an internet show, the more abstract background helps the atmosphere be more airy and free. this background is giving OLD. just because y'all are a SHOW doesn't mean you have to completely change aesthetic- y'all have always been a show. this aim at retro is unsettling (jojo helped) and i chose not to put it on my tv for these reasons. yall are all i watch tbh, please update. love yall forever

It’s not supposed to be professional , they’re going for a purposefully cheesy retro look, at least that’s how I see it. And that totally does make sense if you think about it in conjunction with teddy fresh because they have some pieces that are a purposefully tacky vibe that elicits nostalgia too and it’s cute, it can work.

Yeah sorry guys. The backgrounds are not working for me. The velvet pastel muted curtains are so dingy and dull. I thought Ethan’s entire background was green screen. It honestly looks cheaper than before. I also don’t know what the point of the curtain backgrounds is for the crew when the camera shots are partially covered in curtain and then showing some black behind the curtain. It just looks disheveled. Before everyone’s background looked personalized.
