It’s funny. I played this great game since I was 4 years old. Never took a stitch until I played in beer leagues, some double bladder falling all over the place got me with the end of his stick and ruined my modeling career.
Lost two front teeth on the ice coaching 7 year olds back in the day. I hear ya man.

I’ve seen a team full of D3 players who use the 99 number as there MVP of their team.

Former college tendy here. High and hards in mens league is half the reason I hate playing these days lol. Who the heck wants to take a clapper off ANY part of their body on a Sunday night
As you can tell, I was immediately looking away after it went in lol. That guy doesn’t usually hit the goalie with those tho to worry about that
Goalies definitely get the short end of the stick in beer league.
Gotta love neck high slappers from the blue line through tons of traffic. As a defenseman, I can’t stand Sunday night “heroes” who think they were just one bad tryout from a multimillion dollar contract. They are out there taking high hard slappers that usually hit their own player between the shoulder blades. If this sounds like something you as a player? CUT IT OUT!
Also as a defenseman, I am sorry for leaving you out to dry on occasion…

@@jenslundy Honestly, in D league, I love the guys that take slap shots. I feel like 90% of the time, they just fire the thing off into the boards somewhere, and the rest of the time, it's usually one where the goalie makes the easy save because everyone can just step aside and let them just glove the thing on the way in.
That said, they probably aren't as hard as the higher level slapshots.

Haha I played with Andre Dore in a beer league he fought the entire team in one shift. Was the best senior league season I ever played. Milford CT
Also played with with the Captain of the Chiefs dude with the jaw haha he was in his late 60’s maybe 70’s was the best very humble guy

We named our team after the All Blacks Rugby National team from New Zealand. The most feared team of all time. They are unstoppable.

The Sunday Night Hockey League. Has been going on since the 90’s. Showcasing the best and most competitive men’s league hockey in Ohio maybe the Midwest.

@@tvelis513 For sure, that's definitely a better league. We're saying to be a real men's league, you're retired from competitive hockey. League's with pro / college guys back home in the summer are a step up. We've got a handful of guys that play in the Cleveland league that has college and pro guys in the summer (SEL). Agree with you that it's a different level.

Glad my rink isn't the only rink that leaves a friggin pond, game sucks for the first ten minutes or so. I chick that does the ice leaves it 90% dry by the end of the resurface. All Blacks need a little diversity EH!! :) :)

Probably half and half up here in the non contact men's leagues. I myself wear them at 54. Going down on a shoulder would really suck without them besides the odd yahoo idiot nailing ya.

Because it’s beer league not the NHL, or major junior, or Pro if you pay for hockey you should wear face shield. Unless you have a fragile ego and need to compensate by not wearing face protection, and want to “pay” to get your face smashed.
Don't get me wrong, I myself wear a visor. I just know most guys in my neck of the woods do not wear a full face mask. @@Mcgee833
