HAHAHAHAPPY BIRTHDAY A.H

The often overlooked part of this scene is the rest of the team and their realisation that Magneto outclasses them completely.
Not Storm. Storm literally created a weather phenomenon that could have engulfed Africa. Not a country in Africa. Africa.
They already knew lol
Unless I misremember badly, Storm is also an Omega-class mutant. She's a lot less experienced than Erik at this point, though. Angel and Psylocke are no match for, however.
@@bobbyfeet2240 Psylocke is Omega as well, at least in some stories. Her psychic powers are vast once trained, though Jean Grey is stronger. Psylocke is generally considered among the strongest of the X-Men.
Angel is the odd man out here, having no significant powers except flight and what little additional power the metal wings gained from Apocalypse gave him.
Storm is omega level and can match magneto, just obviously not at this point. Psylocke is also omega level at some point, all three are weaker than Jean regardless but at least they are all within the same power class. Angel gets washed by all of them though
Apocalypse. He may be a bad guy but he wants to help his minions mental health. How nice of him. Lol
Boss of the year
He wants to give them cool upgrades and makeovers
Better than a lot of Human Bosses we have.

@@australian2425 oooo. Right I forget that sometimes.
Did you notice everyone got a buff, however Magneto was just told what to do and he is super powerful
Apocalypse can't really do TOO much with omega+ level mutants anyway. Maybe armor like I think he gave hulk or juggernaut at some point but meh.
Magneto is one of the most powerful mutants in all of Marvel, period. He's easily in the top 5.
@John 'Soap' Mactavish Idk about Top 5, there are a lot of Mutants that are head Shoulders and leagues above him in power, Likely near there though, def in the Top 10

@Warby Parker Matthew Maloy, Franklin Richards, The Marquie of Death, Gabriel Sheppard, Apocalypse, Phoenix, Mister M, Tarn, Isca, Legion, Vulcan, Mad Jim Jaspers. Among Others have him beat
Magneto is truly powerful, and Apocalypse knew this. He made the rest more powerful, for example he gave Warren metal wings and such, but all he did with Erik was help him tap into his potential. Magneto is awesome
Makes me wonder what the hell he could of given Quicksilver to make him more powerful....what untapped speed could he achieve with Apocalypse help.

Crossing my fingers Rouge and Storm get better justice.
@@bmoney544How does this have anything to do with the comment about the acting-?
Forgive me, I'm confused.
@@carbinecryo30716 because the comment I responded to changed
Yeah, the Holocaust was one of the most despicable acts of genocide and mass killing in the history of humanity. Magneto was not only a witness, he was there. He survived, but like many of the other survivors, they never forgot. Tears filled their eyes thinking about it, when they sleep at night. They were traumatized permanently.
In 5 minutes, Apocalypse gave Magneto more training and understanding of his powers than Charles Xavier did in years.
Then why the flashback of him & Charles in First Class later on in this movie?
@joewhitehead3 Good question, I think there is a link that could be made...allow me to attempt to explain. With Apocalypse bringing him back to the concentration / death camp where he what he went through led to him discovering his power and how, by bringing him back to the birth place of his power, to show him how truly powerful he really is.
I think the flashbacks of Charles were acknowledgement to where he began to understand his powers and develop them throughout their many years of friendship, doesn't quite compare to what he achieved under Apocalypse' tutelage, but had Erik not met Charles, he wouldn't of been able to accomplish what he did in that moment. I always think of the submarine lifting out of the water when Apocalypse tells Erik to reach as deep as you can into the ground.
Being brought to that place would surely tap more emotions than a lesson about Rage and Serenity
Because this time, he is fuelled by rage, anger, grief, and despair;
All of which are strong emotions.
His powers are at their strongest when he loses someone dear, his mother, and now his daughter, the only difference being he's older and more in tune with his powers than when he was a boy.
Glad people noticed that he didn’t enhance Erik’s powers the way he did others. Extremely important to note. “You will find you have the power to move the Earth itself.” Apocalypse knew how strong Magneto really was once he learned to turn his pain into anger.
Isn't Magneto in canon stronger than Apocalypse? Apocalypse is cool but he's not in the top tier I don't think. And they should have went CGI for him like they did with Thanos. This 5'6 apocalypse looks terrible.
@@hansolo631 Magneto is an omega level mutant yes. Apocalypse isn’t as strong as he is, he’s only been alive longer to know his own potential, unlike Magneto.
Poor Erik, his pain is so tremendous and raw. It's sad that his character has suffered so much loss. Such a relatable character.
They promote their victimhood propaganda in everything!
And then get exploited/abused by “En Sabah Nur”
For a frustratingly poor film which tended to really miss the mark, they actually did this scene pretty well - Magneto is tragic and crazed with grief, but never an evil villain and it also shows just how kick-ass powerful he is once he is completely let off the leash.
What a pity he was blind to how he was being exploited by Apocalypse.
Magneto’s backstory is for most people in the world the opposite of relatable. And I am extremely glad that this is the case.
If you’ve ever been to a KZ Gedenkstätte you know what I am talking about.

German couldn't won the war, that would be the end of the jews in the hole world .
Same here 😱
why say it that awkward tortured way, "never not" instead of simply saying "always"?
If you look closely, you can see that the rest of the team were shocked and maybe even terrified of realisation of magneto's power and how much he outclasses them, I think they knew about his power but just not about how vast it was, as you can see it in their expressions
Especially storm 😂😂😂
1:57 You can see that even with all the anger that’s inside of Erik, he still listens to Charles when he trained him in First Class to use peace and serenity for his powers to be used to their full potential, so this isn’t Erik using anger, but instead using his trauma and his brokenness as his motivation and letting himself be vulnerable to ‘move the earth’ as Apocalypse had put it
those of who don't understand why Eric screamed is because, when Apocalypse closed his eyes at 2:38 he was actually accessing Erics mind, hence the flashbacks, I which Eric had to witness the death of his mother and him accessing his powers for the first time, which also gave him extra boost of power to bring everything down
i dont think so, that sounds kinda dmb ngl
@@joe2751 no it makes sense, Apocalypse has access to everyone's minds and can make them feel whatever he wants them to
@@adistantgod6628 He can do that in proximity. But only Xavier has worldwide reach.

@@LukeLovesRose I agree entirely!!
When I saw this in theatres it gave me literal goosebumps. Such a powerful scene, great acting from Michael fassbender and Oscar Isaac
Watch it at home and rewatching it now. Still have goosebumps
They should have gone CGI for apocalypse, he should be larger than a real human, like Thanos. Imagine if Thanos had been a 5'6 latino guy
Not metaphorical goosebumps? Thanks for clearing up that potential source of confusion for us all.
For those who dont know, in at least one iteration of magneto and his abilities, not only is he able to pull a submarine from the depths, rip a building from its foundation, or lift multiple cars off the street, but, he is also able to do something on a much smaller and more deadly scale. He can turn an organic being into his puppet. I dont know how many he can do this with at once, however, he got such good control over his ferrokinesis(telepathic control over metal) that he could move the metal particals inside an organic being’s body and use them to push on various parts of their brains to control them. Inferrably, with this level of control, he could suck out the metal in the local atmosphere and form what ever constructs he wished at any time.
Funny how Jean Grey can do everything Magneto is capable of and more
@@nosakhareanthony5677 it’s true. Jean grey is more powerful than magneto. However, all im saying is that for what his ability is he is more powerful than shown in most movies or tv shows
He has a degree in neuroscience?
@@bruceleroy8063 no. He is a ferrokinetic. He has telepathic control over metal.
@@hush4522 to control someone by pressing on specific points in the brain would require quite an impressive knowledge of the brain's structure.
Magneto is ridiculously powerful. His power over ferromagnetism is just a small sliver of the scope of his power. He can tap into the full magnetic spectrum.
Ferromagnetism is simply the most effortless for him to manipulate.
There is even a point in the comics where he nearly kills Apocalypse by disrupting the magnetic balance of the atoms in his body. He only reason he lived was because Magneto was simply flexing to show Apocalypse he was nothing to him.
Then there is where to the problem lies. With all his power, why hasn't he made his ideal world a reality? Very few could stand against him, and yet for "reasons", he and other power people like him in other media, can't seem to attain their goal. One of the major issues with comics.
@@KamenKamibecause the good guys also have people like Jean Grey and Franklin Richards. If everyone is overpowered, no one is
@@KamenKami I think in this case you could make the argument that Magneto, at least in the comics, isn't interested in pure world domination. In a sense, he sort of has to be more of complex character for someone like Charles Xavier to believe there's any reason to negotiate with him. They have a closeness and a connection because Erik isn't simply interested in a world where mutants are on top and humans are enslaved or eradicated -- he wants, fundamentally, to help the world be better, and I think Charles sees that. When you couple that with Erik's history as a Holocaust victim, you can sort of see how his natural goodness has been tainted by his trauma and made him bitter, resentful, and vengeful.
To answer your question, I'd argue the reason he hasn't made his ideal world a reality is because simply making it by force isn't what he truly wants. He wants the world to accept his goals as *right*, and he wants the acknowledgement that his pain and suffering wasn't fair, and wasn't justified, and I'd argue he won't simply force the world into his way of thinking because what he really craves deep down is validation that the injustice he suffered was actually wrong.
To actually answer your question, the reason he hasn't made his ideal world a reality despite all his power is because it would be a really boring story if he did. And on a deeper level, because Magneto isn't so obscenely powerful in a vacuum -- he's so powerful because he's a villain, and his nigh-unbeatable power is meant as an obstacle for the heroes in the story to overcome. He needs to be nearly unstoppable so that his ultimate defeat feels like a significant victory.
The fact that a single human can decide wether we live and die is insane. Magneto could stop the earths rotation if he wanted to and send us all into oblivion.
What are you talking about? Who is capable of deciding whether we live or die?
@@LukeLovesRose Magneto
@@user-bk9fk2tq2z Duh. I dont know why I didnt figure that out sooner.
And that's why Erik was so dangerous. He was that powerful and hes got the worst attitude imaginable toward his enemies, toward humans. He was creating a much more horrible future in the end of Days of Future Past and he was too blind to realize it.
fr 🤣🤣
Stopping the earth's rotation? Where the hell is it suggested that he could be even remotely close to this powerful? So far the most impressive feats I've seen from Magneto were the lifting of a stadium, and deconstruction of a few buildings here
The cadence of "everything they've built will fall" gives me goosebumps every single time.

He still loves them.
I hope the MCU will get it right with Magneto. He doesn't just control magnetic metals, he can control electromagnetic fields. Which means he should have power over all matter, since that means he can manipulate atoms.
He is the Master of Magnetism after all.
I wouldn't get my hopes up tbh.
Everything is paramagnetic or diamagnetic, thanks to molecular orbital theory. If something isn't magnetic, it's just very very weak. A strong enough magnetic force will bring out how it works. So Magneto can move any matter using magnetic fields if he's strong enough anyways!
@@Appri or find and reach his potential.
Magneto only has power over ferromagnetic metals: iron, cobalt, and nickel. which is to say not everything, but if yanked those metals from a body it would be like a gunshot wound.

100% agree
This was the perfect place to make magneto understand what he really is a force!

Not only his he a stand out mutant, but a stand out actor as well. You can clearly see in the film that he IS a top notch actor, clearly outshining almost everyone
Fr, I don't think they could've picked a better actor to play magneto
its that very moment where he is just that powerful as a mutant and know one knew it and that is what makes magnetos powers truly terrifying
And seeing him later with the huge Magnetic Field, you could clearly see what he is truly capable of.... Magneto is truly one of the best written Characters (old and young)
it really makes you sit here and wonder, how OP Magento is, bro could have soloed the whole x men alone....besides Charles
he could but he never would have killed xmen cause they were mutants like him his enemies were humans
Say what you want about this movie but the way it’s cut together with First Class is excellent
He seems to have a very calm and respectful approach to magneto. Hes like "ok i definitely want him on my team"
Magneto is Omega level for a reason. No buff needed.
2:37 even apocalypse had to close his eyes in awe..he knew he had just hit the jackpot...a guy who could control one of the four fundamental forces in the universe...nuclear (weak and strong), gravitational and electromagnetic.
A literal force of nature
this scene "almost" makes Apocalypse look great, and the voice change as the scene goes on really fits a grittier version of the cartoon. If he was like this for the whole movie it would have been MUCH better (and a little more buff)
Hes short but the host his short. It makes sense to me. But his aesthetic is very bada** to me. It looks like Apocalypse just woke up from Ancient Egypt. He looks like hes been decorated as a God... which he was. The comics were wrong. Apocalypse was created in a time of great ignorance
Fassbender was the perfect choice for magneto casting.
Magneto has powers and abilities that make him capable of doing such things.

This is the closest to the full potential of magnetos power the movies have shown.
This was one of my favourite scenes with Magneto. Apocalypse definitely had the better story and character development than Dark Phoenix did, which was a bit of a let down for me. No other actor can portray Magneto, Michael Fassbender was so perfect for this role ❤❤❤❤
YOUNG Magneto. Older, more experienced Magneto (Sir Ian McKellan) truly owned the role. Nothing would have existed without him and Sir PATRICK Stewart.
Might be an unpopular opinion but Apocalypse is easily my favorite X-Men antagonist. The first mutant, who over thousands of years just grew stronger and stronger. So fuckin cool.
Magneto always was one of my favourite characters. And Michael Fassbender is great playing him.
This scene made magneto my favorite..you understood his rage and pain
we always knew magneto was powerful, but when apocalypse unlocked his true potential, its quite frightening how powerful he is. literally moved the earth and controlled the entire earths magnetic field.
he always could...it just never occurred to him.
Apocalypse didnt actually unlocked it, just showed magento what he has always been capable of. Thats why he is the 🐐
The chills. The rest of the team could only marvel at what sheer, raw power looks like. What a scene.
I'm fascinated that Apocalypse, when he said what he was called, first listed "Elohim"--Hebrew. Because he knew this name would be the most powerful to say to Erik. Erik, who--living in that camp, losing everyone he loved--had likely asked himself many times (like he did here) "Where is God?" "Where was God while HIs people suffered?"
Yahweh was His Name. And then it was Yeshua
you can feel how heavy he carried this movie + James McAvoy. Very chilling moment power of Magneto.
this shows how truly powerful magneto is i love it cause he was my fav villain from the comics
Magento is on Omega level Mutant.
He copied Dr. Polaris
2:42 This sounds identical to the score from Shawshank Redemption when Andy broke out.
I was thinking exactly the same.
The build up of the scene is also similar
Best scene..erik is such a powerful character and actor
They should have made a tv show about Magneto hunting nazis after the war.
No one in the MCU is as good of an actor as Fassbender
Michael Fassbender and Elizabeth Olsen 🔛🔝
This is my favorite part (besides quick silver saving everyone) but this is such a bad ass scene. Love this entire movie
Michael is a phenomenal actor, and the true humanity he was able to breathe into Magneto truly showed he was born to play him at this age, much like Ian was at HIS age!!!!...
surprised to see no one mention the music swell at 2:33, which sounds almost EXACTLY like one from the shawshank redemption: specifically, when andy escapes from prison and lets the euphoria of freedom wash over him. this almost feels like a dark mirror to that scene, since magneto is experiencing freedom in a sense; that is, freedom from the former bounds of his power, but in his case, the feeling that washes over him is sadness. anhd like andy's freedom is baptized by rain, magneto's by earth and metal.
some might say comparing this movie to a classic like shawshank is giving it too much credit, and theyre probably right. but hey, you never know
You right.
