When James Redelinghuis wanted to build a marketing vehicle for his company, he wanted to build something out of this world. And after spending some time with his creation, there is no doubt in our mind that he achieved his goal.
What you're about to watch is one man's mission to build the world's maddest minibus. With a styling kit imported from Japan, the Quantum needed the go to match the show.
And so James imported a rare Toyota V12 engine. It's not widely known that Toyota even made a V12, as it was sold almost exclusively in the Japanese domestic market, and instead of being fitted to a sports car, it was exclusively used in the Century, an ultra-luxury sedan.
And naturally aspirated just wouldn't suffice, so James set about installing two turbochargers.

Production quality is excellent! However I have one tiny suggestion, take atleast half a minute in every video and mute the background music and let the cars do a rev and acceleration so we can hear the lovely engine and intake sounds of the vehicles reviewed! Us car enthusiasts love it.

An admirable build. Those "WTF am I doing!?" moments when things go wrong are not uncommon to we car builders, BUT the ability and desire to not give up is what sorts out the real car builders.

It was literaly sitting here in my chair, clamping the arm rests, waiting in angst to hear the beautiful sound of that V12 twin turbo..... and then it never came. Such a dissapointment, but still an excellent video. That build must have cost a fortune.

I drive a Quantum daily for work, and I love it! This however seems to be a monster of a Quantum, and I love the way it looks. I pushed my stock Velocity to it's limits of 200km/h, but I never reached more than 140 with the Quantum, so I'm wondering how this would feel 🙈 well done on this one though, it's inspiring 😋
I pushed my polo classic 97 to 200 as the speedo claims but I think it was more 170km true speed

So much time, effort and parts went into it.
Just two corrections:
- there was no 2.5l petrol Quantum, so I assume you meant either 2.7 petrol or 2.5 D4D.
- the engine code is 1GZ-FE, not a 1ZU.
That aside...what a bonkers toy!

The 2005 refers to the model year, I believe, not the engine displacement...though I could be wrong. It sure sounds like he is saying 2 thousand and five.
