- Welcome to the TCG-101 series - the best way to become a better duelist with lessons in under 10 minutes.
In this lesson, we go over some of the ways to use Genius Invokation's turn system to your advantage. While it seems like a very simple rule on the surface, there's actually quite a lot of depth to it that newer players often overlook. Most of the time, players feel the need to get around it by quickswapping whenever possible. However, learning how to play with it rather than against it will put you one step ahead of your opponents who aren't thinking about it at all!
And of course, one perhaps controversial take from this lesson is explaining why you shouldn't play Katheryne. Most experienced players will tell you to avoid the card, but it's pretty hard for newer players to understand why this makes sense when quickswapping is so obviously strong! Hopefully by the end of this lesson though, I'll have convinced you otherwise, and you can begin to appreciate slowswaps a bit more.

If Genshin ever releases Evokation as a standalone, I really hope your channel explodes. Definitely one of the highest quality content creators for the game, especially within the educational bubble.
That would be nice heh, but definitely optimistic! I know full well going in the content's always going to be a bit niche so it won't truly explode, but I'll settle for making dedicated viewers for those who are really into GITCG!

Dude, your advice is a game changer. By just switching some cards for a card saver (harbor) and timing “Leave It To Me”s instead of Katheryne, I dramatically improved even the performance of my first-ever deck back from the TCG release days. Lawachurl-Ningguang-Kenki. Yes, it’s as clunky and antysynergistic as it sounds. Yet I still was able to defeat a Shenhe-Kazuha-Ayaka, a Nahida-Fischl-Collei, and a bunch of other competent decks. Thank you for letting me finally take revenge over the “meta bros” >:D
Thank you!! Really great to hear the advice helps! My goal with these series is specifically to help players improve their fundamentals so they can succeed with their own decks, and not just be told to play meta, which I see too often as advice.
A deck that you like playing and know how to play well to me is better than someone playing a meta deck but not knowing how it works!

I always wondering why everyone leave Katherine. I mean, 1 dice for multiple switch during a game is high efficiency. Now I find a good reason about surprise and stalling, great content!
As you play against better players too, every dice matters. 1 Dice doesn't sound like a lot, but games can easily come down to where having 1 extra dice matters.
Particularly with more cards being added, there's way more ways to use that 1 die now with card draw, or keeping it with vanarana, etc.

Damn I didn't know Katheryne just worst than leave it to me am just used to Katheryne in reaction decks / combo deck / ramping deck cuz gives me opportunity to burst with xangling or yoimiya with dying like yeah it cost 1 dice if I have 1 remaining dice am use it for Katheryne
It's really hard to notice how it can affect your games unless you know to look out for it! When you play Kath you will just end your turn much faster than opponents and leave yourself open to counterattack.
But then it doesn't feel like you lost because of Kath, but because your opponents deck was better or got better cards.
Unless I just out dps them or just reaction based team
