Pink diamond
Gabriel's plan from Miraculous Ladybug season five
Emma Frost's secret mission to destroy the Phoenix on Wolverine and the X-men.
Im not sure if any would make it to the list but there were some in a show called ninjago, very few for chima, and some in nexo knights
Why is Steven Universe in Number 1? It shouldn't even be on the list, because it's a twist everyone literally saw coming for years before it happened. Literally everyone on the internet said so, because they made it too throughout the show. WatchMojo, you suck if you guys didn't see it coming. 🤣
The Terra Teen Titans revelation followed by her ultimate sacrifice was both a shocker and tear inducing. Beast Boy's later encounter only added to it.
I know. I was speechless when I heard she was trained by Slade, then was his apprentice. However, she did redeem herself, but at a terrible price.
Read the comic that inspired it. It's worse. The Judas Contract... Slade/Deathstroke and Terra were lovers...
@@chslt79I hope they were both at least adults.
@@cnsayin8847 no sir. Terra is a child...
@@chslt79 and held not a hint of goodness in her... Far darker and more evil than slade/deathstroke.
The Young Justice twist, deserves to be higher on this list
I don't think they are in a particular order. But if so, yes. It's also one of the most planned plotwists. Some of these, like Baman son or Scroodge McDuck's daughter, feel pulled right out of the writers' a--
I seriously agree that that one should've been in the top 5 if anything. It was that good, that I literally started second guessing every aspect of that show from then on. I still love how the whole series played out and wish it could've continued.
As DCAU fans, we’ve learned about Terry McGinnis’ true origin, it was shocking but impressive.
Leave it to Amanda Waller to pull the rug out from under us
Huh Neat
I wonder if that was the idea from the start
It was a little weird how a redhead and brunette gave birth to black hair kids.🤔🤔🤔🤔
What a great show for setting it way into the future. Loved the episode with Talia Al Ghul abd her farther. What was your favorite?
To be fair, Gravity Falls' twist on the Author's Identity wasn't exactly something no one saw coming but rather one that was executed SO WELL. There had been theories floating around that Stan had a twin and he may have been the author but so many red herrings were added in the show to make other theories just a plausible. But the way they pulled off the reveal in Not What He Seems was an absolute masterpiece!
Still one of the greatest in history imo.
Terra’s betrayal actually broke my brain as a kid. Slade from that series was iconic. Man was a MENACE.
Read New Teen Titans: The Judas Contract
And a p€do.
SLAAAAAAAAAAAADDDDEEE
Terra and Beast Boy were my first ship. I've never recovered.
The absolute AUDACITY for Avatar: The Last Airbender to have such emotional depth and great writing.
The darkest thing about Batman Beyond is that The one that was supposed to kill Terry's parents was Batman's former lover. She was ordered to kill them but she didn't do it because she realized that her lover went through a tragic lose that made him into the broken man he is today. Its awful tbh. Glad she didn't go through with it.
Andrea had also suffered a loss. Her father being murdered led her to donning the Phantasm persona when she came back to Gotham
@@ericbock6724 and joker being the one who carried out the murder
Utrom Shredder was such a fun way of fusing Krang and Shredder. An idea that would never cross anyone's mind.
But overall, hearing Kevin Conroy Bruce say "I was worried about Gotham if Batman's not around..." only for Will Friedle's Terry to answer "I've got it covered. Always". Hits extra hard listening to it today.
Slade was a Genius...getting Terra to turn against The Titans....Perfection. ironically if Robin hadn't told Terra he just figured it out, Terra wouldn't have turned on them.
The twist of Webby's true origin and Scrooge being her father took me totally by surprise. That was a great finale.
Huh Neat
Agreed!
@@stevenkurtz2730 Technically yes. Webby is the cloned daughter of Scrooge being made with his cloned DNA, so with Scrooge being the boys uncle yes, Webby is technically the boys cousin.
@@stevenkurtz2730That would also mean that she's Donald and Della's cousin.
I know.
The young justice plot twist still got me when red arrow revealed to be the mole and a clone
Yeah I feel like that should've been way higher on the list
Rest in peace Kevin You will always be my favorite Batman
The secret wish was even hinted in a previous episode, when Timmy tells to the young version of his dad, "I'm really 40 but I look 10"
I didn't even realize that!🤯🤯🤯
That one line that seemed so trivial was the key to everything in The Fairly Oddparents.
Am i bad at maths? Wouldn't it be 1,000,002 wishes? 1mill + secret wish + forget wish.
@@cyberwolf1402 I think the forget was part of the 1million, the secret wasn't counted because I was secret
@@rafaelpozo9962 but he made him forget the secret wish with a wish so shouldn't Cosmo remember him making the forget wish but not know what it was for?
Am I thinking about this too much? I am aren't I?
#13 It's still such a shocker to know that one of Zuko's great-grandfathers was Avatar Roku.
Another good plot twist for code name kid next door was number zero being number 1s father. Though it really makes sense to me because it's a legacy thing.
Then the identities of the Delightful Children and Father, from the same movie.
@@irrespondible THAT one caught me completely off guard.
#8 Still shocks me to this day, and proves that Slade is the best villain in the Teen Titans series. Although what she did is reprehensible, she did redeem herself, but at a pretty heavy cost. That cliffhanger in Season 5, I think she thought she didn't deserve to go back to the Titans because she betrayed them. I bet she pretended to have Amnesia.
She did pretend. It's confirmed in the tie in comics.
@@antoniacosta6221 Oh, I never read the comics. I only watched the series.
I don't think what she did is true redemption. She faked her death to not face any repercussions
@@alexanderwheeler5328 she didn’t fake her death- she did actually die and turn to stone, but was revived when Trigon was defeated. Trigon had turned humanity to stone and when the Titans beat him, his spell was reversed and it also happened to work on Terra. The only thing Terra faked was her amnesia.
If you think Terra was bad in the show, you should read "The Judas Contract". she's an absolute monster in that story. she's a complete psychopath who betrays the Titans and shows no remorse for doing it. Plus, she was sleeping with Slade.
Red Arrow: "I... was the mole?"
Vandal Savage: “Yes. Yes, you were.”
Gravity Falls twist was really impressive, one of the greatest cartoon series ever made
If it had a honorable mention, it would've had:
2012 TMNT- Irma being a Kraang
Amphibia- Marcy knowing about The Calamity Box or Anne being a god in 78 years
The Owl House- Vee (a.k.a. Luz's imposter)
Regular Show- Rigby and Eileen dating
What is this Anne being a god?
@@andryduarte9164 watch Amphibia
In my opinion, the true shocking revelation from The Owl House was either that it was actually Lilith that cursed her sister Eda, or that King was actually the last Titan
I actually hated the Irma-is-krang twist. I loved the 1012 tmnt show but that one was.... It's just bad
There's a LOT more plot twists out there! Even more twists from the shows already covered. If you all decide to make another one, here's some suggestions!
1: Billy IS the Lich. Adventure Time. (Might be well known, but It shocked me)
2: Sari isn't human. Transformers: Animated.
3: Karai's real father. TMNT (2012)
We literally see the Lich stealing his body on that same episode. They weren't the same guy, Lich just took over his body.
Loved 3. 2012 TMNT plot first season was my favorite, though
Hawkgirl betrayal was shocking
I Totally Agree with you 💯 Percent! I was in Totally Shocked 😳 by Hawkgirl Betrayal! I really Missed the Justice League alot! 😢
Terry being Bruce's son threw me for a loop, but what hurt me the most was Terra being Slade's apprentice. Talk about a gut punch.
The problem is that anyone who's familiar with the original Judas Contract storyline from the comics knows that Terra will be a traitor working for Slade whenever she appears in a series or movie. Young Justice's big plot twist was that she ended up not betraying the team.
@@ProfArmitage218 I wish I read it back then. That way I wouldn't have been blindsided by it.
I wish at end she would of been able to tell beast boy the truth that she remembered everything when he was at her school
Futurama was great at giving us in episode twists (Luck of the Fryish, Jurassic Bark)…but yeah, after seeing Nibbler’s plot unveiled for the first time, I raced back and rewatched the pilot to see if they had already planted that seed…amazing long-term storytelling
Jurassic Bark was sad as shit
@@franquil85conn No doubt! That twist is just so, so sad. One of their best episodes, also one of the hardest to watch.
Another great bit of foreshadowing was that when they first went to old new york… They actually showed Leela’s parents as bystanders and no one realised that was gonna be revealed later1
Hold on. How dare you not include Owen is actually Puck from Gargoyles. That is easily the best plot twist of any cartoon. Owen was there from day one and then 45 episodes later (which aren’t cartoons 13 episode seasons?) we find out he’s actually Puck was jaw dropping and one of the best twists I’ve ever seen cartoon or live action.
I totally didn't see that one coming!! The fact that Puck, the biggest trickster of the Third Race, was actually Xanatos's right hand man was something surreal. But I can add another big twist (perhaps even bigger): Anastasia Renard was actually Queen Titania, making Fox and Alex halflings.
@@rafaelmatos5851 that one may have been a little bit hinted. Same voice actor and all. But was a good one for sure
Dude, and Desdemona's immortality.
@@axxxonn Yeah, that too...
@@artieo5339They actually didn’t share the same voice actor. Jeff Bennett, the voice actor for Owen, also voiced Brooklyn though.
I love how Nibblers shadow was seen in the first episode. The plot twist was planned from the beginning.
I know, right?!
Wow I've never noticed that before
Fun fact: A few episodes before the reveal, we see the scene again; and Fry's shadow is there, too.
I’m a big fan of Rebecca! I love her so much. She is a CZcams icon with her voice.
I remember watching the legend of kora week after week back in the day on nick and being completely shocked to find out about amon
Terry Mcguiniess being Bruce Wayne's son caught me off guard
Mr. Jones not being Fred's real dad in mystery Inc was a great twist.
101: The Truth About Amon had my jaw on the floor. I said “no freaking way”
I was surprised too. I thought he was a cyborg at first, with anti-bloodbending devices, but it turned out to be his own innate power that let him resist Tarrlock. Guess that shows how persuasive he is at convincing others he’s not a bender
What about Dan Phantom revealed to be the Ultimate Enemy. That should be on the list.
100: Zuko’s Godfather shocked me when I watched it again as an adult. My eyes got big
99: April episode shocked me from the 2017’s DuckTales. I couldn’t believe it
There been many plot twist and reveals in Young Justice that surprised me, but none of them top the Red Arrow reveal, it left me stunned when I first saw it.
Let’s not forget that one episode that went full on Black Hawk Down miss Martian gave them all PTSD.
@@eldeadkilljohnkennedy3946 Though if the Justice League is killed in the opening part of the episode, no one's thinking it'll stick.
In the DC Comics miniseries Arsenal from the 1990s, it's revealed that Roy Harper and his daughter Lian are related to Vandal Savage.
OG teen titans was amazing, when you see terra and you're just like 😢 no
I still remember MANY of these moments! Especially the Teen Titans. There all good ones….
All phenomenal plot twists!!
Utrom Shredder was such a fun way of fusing Krang and Shredder. An idea that would never cross anyone's mind.
Alice Was Masquerade Bakugan Battle Brawlers.
I wont lie, every single one of these was at least a 7 for me, but Roy Harper and the secret wish is still a 10 for me.
for years, my prediction was that Pearl shapeshifted into Rose and shattered Pink Diamond, but that was actually what they wanted us to think 😂
I would add that Karai was the daughter of Hamoto Yoshi (Splinter) and not Shredder
Spoilers TMNT 2012
As South Park fans, we were literally surprised that both Eric Carman and Scott Tenerman are officially half-brothers. They had the same dad who got shot and killed by some foolish farmer.
Can’t believe I remember watching that on VHS when I was like 7-9 years old!
Zuko being Roku’s great grandson tho
I knew that Skinner being an imposter would be high up on this list. Martin Sheen actually gave a great performance as the real Skinner, in spite of the episode being mostly divisive.
I don't get that if Chad was secretly a double agent, then what was his motivation in the episodes Operation Leader and Operation Slumber
adventure time made me question everything i really thought the story was random but then everything changed when they revealed lots of things
Can you please do Top 10 Thunderball moments?
Missing(s): Ko's Dad's secrets from OK Ko Let's be Heroes, Susie's sister from Summer Camp Island, Isabella trure form Victor and Valentino, Hubert Farnsworth's Son (Igner) from Futurama, Pops and Anti-Pops from Regular Show,
20:12 their were so many hidden clues that all of use were too clueless to understand but once you put the pieces together it all makes sense
You missed one of the best ones. Gargoyles - Goliath's mate and 2nd in command Demona, is the one who betrayed the clan to the Viking raiders.
As an Owl House fan, I must add some great twists: Lilith cursed Eda; the existence of a fake Luz who was actually a Basilisk brought to life by Belos; King is a Titan and the son of the Boiling Isles; Raine was faking being brainwashed...
How could you not have Tangled the Series! There were two pick twists in the season 2 finale!
Lisa:...but we'll call you Snowball II for short.
Skinner: Isn't that a cheat?
Lisa: I suppose it is, Arman Tanzarian.
TOP 10 Strangest Suit-Ups
5:48 something even more genius about Nibbler is that if you look closely at the first episode, you can see Nibbler’s shadow. Meaning the writers had this entire subplot written in advanced
Futurama is genius
The skinner twist definitely sounds like that angered fans but not me because I honestly stay away from harsh criticism
Number 11 is like the Shredder and Krang put together. Cool!
1:42 Yeah I didn’t see that coming
You forgot the revelation that Zack Saturday from The Secret Saturdays was actually Kur, the cryptid the family had long been seeking. Or that in The Real Adventures Of Jonny Quest, that Hadji Singh was a prince.
I remember the Gravity Falls one being a popular theory before the reveal. A lot of people thought Stan had a twin brother and he was the author. Although I didn't see the identity theft coming.
I'm surprised Camp Lazlo's series finale didn't appear on the list.
Exactly!
102: Now, that’s a huge shocker in shocking history. Pink Diamond is Rose Quartz. Totally didn’t see it coming
18:57 THAT WAS AWSOME
People always dump on "The Principal and the Pauper" for being poorly written and not making sense, but they're completely missing that it was intentionally mocking the tropes of unexpected twists and negative continuity.
Rose being Pink Diamond was one of the OG PD theories that so many people caught onto. So much so that the writers literally had to make the "Rose shattered Pink" fiasco just to throw them off. And after Jungle Moon some even believed she was still alive (Thank Jesus this wasnt what they were going for)
Young Justice needs season 5!
YJ needs a season 8; and of course the ones to get there.
@@Sephiroth144 I wanna see Dick (Nightwing) and Barbara (Oracle) get married too after Connor and M'gann.
Love your video and a lot of these plot got me
As a big Gravity Falls fan, I had the same reaction as Soos when the truth about the author was revealed
I'm STILL baffled that Stan, Kyle, and Kenny hang out with Cartman.
Honorable Mentions:
* Fred's Real Parents - Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated (2010-13)
* Krabs & Plankton's Friendship - Spongebob SquarePants (1999-)
* Marcy's Betrayal - Amphibia (2019-22)
* Splinter's Daughter - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2012-17)
* Traitor Johann - DreamWorks Dragons: Race to the Edge (2015-18)
3:03 I loved this show. It should've stayed on for 5 more seasons. The predacons should've been a plot line.
I would have added the Young Justice season two plot twist where we found out the truth about Artemis, Aqualad, & Nightwing.
Yeah, I like that plot twist better. To be fair, the whole time aqualad was a villain, I was hoping it wasn't true.
It's not talked about enough but the reveal of Anorld's parents (Hey Arnold) in the TV-Movie that came out back in 2017 & their status was pretty crazy!
No. 8: That was shocking when they revealed it in the Teen Titans comic book. Not so shocking when they did it in the cartoon.
Rose quartz turns out to be pink diamond, miss Miss Heinous turns out to be Eclipsa’s daughter Meteora and Webby being Scrooges daughter were definitely the biggest mind freaks for me. By the way you missed out King from the owl house turning out to be the son of the titan (though I had a feeling because his head looking like the titans was a big giveaway)
Why was Bart Simpson laughing when he said his real name at the end lol
Roy Harper from Young Justice was the episode that had me speechless 😶
gravity falls big reval of who was the author of the book was such a shock
Mabel: " is this the part where one us faiths"
Soos: " i'm so on that" omg that was funny
He had a twin brother all along? That’s the twist we were waiting for?!!!
I didn't expect Chad to be a traitor
I would say that Spectacular Spider-Man’s twist at the end of the show was a really good as they managed to fool us into thinking that the most obvious choice of a character’s identity wasn’t the case.
Suprised Marcy's betrayal wasnt on here. [Amphibia]
What about the scene from Detentionaire where Lee discovers his mom was replaced with a clone and he had a long lost brother?
Amazing Amazing Show , terrible it ended on such a cliffhanger
When Mary Jane Watson turned out to be a water clone on Spider-Man
Great video
Plot twist: How did Thanagarians (from light-years away) got involved in multiple reincarnations... on Earth... while being pursued by an immortal murderer?
That's the plot twist...
Slades apprentice shook 8yr old me to my god damn CORE!!!
I took a long break from Duck Tales in the middle of Season 3, and I managed to return to it spoiler free (somehow). The twist with Webby genuinely surprised me.
That was actually a good video
I Know I late but Thank For the Video 🙊🤯🥰😍😁💗💐🌟🥇🏆
The other thing about number 12: Bruce has TWO sons (remember Matt?)
There are a couple of things from *The Venture Bros* which could be considered big twists. The revelation in the season two premiere (which, to be fair, was hinted at numerous times during season one), as well as how Dermot fits into the group.
Another honourable mention: Greg and Wirt were in a near-death experience, and the Unknown represented a realm between Life and Death; Over the Garden Wall.
Oh that one was amazing
The fact that they revealed the ice king’s backstory in what was supposed to be a Christmas special was wild I did not expect that
Watchmojo still talk about Seymour is an impostor and probably gonna talk about it again after few more years.
I LOVED Batman Beyond and the ending revelation made me happy as well. Such a great episode and I still love how they keep it further in the future in case they want to bring it back later.
It’s kinda odd seeing mr.poopybutthole’s life deteriorate it his life losing his kitty, wife and kid what’s next who knows
Spectacular Spiderman's 2nd season finale (in effect the series finale) completely changed what had happened in the past two seasons with the Green Goblin. We, and Spidermab, assumed Harry Osbourne was the Green Goblin and that he was relapsing into becoming the Green Goblin again. We then find out that this was a trick from the true Green Goblin, Norman Osbourne, who used his son to throw Spiderman off his trail. In the last episode we even saw Norman at the same time with the Green Goblin completely throwing everyone off until Harry realized that his "father" was the Chameleon in disguise and Norman was the true Green Goblin. It was a truly Spectacular Spiderman!
Fun fact for “Fry and Nibbler” if you rewatch the pilot episode and watch the shadow under the table as fry is falling into the pod, you will actually see Nibblers shadow. Very awesome attention to detail and awesome they had a plan the hole time
Amazing video Rebecca from watch mojo of shocking plot twist in cartoon shows nobody saw coming, fantastic job. That ending of the reboot of duck tales was dumb very lazy too. That episode of Rick and Morty with the parasites was the first time I did not like the show and took me awhile to get back into Rick & Morty too.
I always thought the Chad being a double agent made no sense to me for awhile since he and Numbuh 1 legit tried to kill each other. But of course I overlooked that Chad was legit jealous of how skilled Nigel became even surpassing him. Chad was always proud of his status and even he couldn't overlook that in favor of someone who used to idolize him. It was a shame that even after finding out he was a double agent, Nigel still decided to permeantly sever ties with Chad (and, again, not blaming Nigel at the slightest).
