Hello everybody, I'am very happy to annnounce that I have finally started getting fruits from my non-automated poolover grows! In this video, I show you all the pins that are coming up (both poolover and Mexi-grasslovers), and more importantly I discuss in-depth the factors that helped, and the mistakes made along the way so that it may help you on your journey. It's been a heck of a journey to get to this point guys, this is truly a huge milestone. I filmed this video days ago, so now the fruits are ready to be harvested! The flush is great but the fruits and caps are small, so I will further optimize from here. Still lots of things to optimize, but I' am very very happy that things are moving forward!

Pro tip for the future, I usually pasteurize my manure at 140 to 160 for 4 hours and only had it contaminate on me once… I do a jar pasteurization (my ratio 70 grams dry manure, 30 grams dry coco coir, and 1/2 cup of vermiculite and bring it to filled moister capacity.)
Pack each jar with as much manure mix as possible and then proceed to cover each jar opening with foil, stick a thermometer through one of the jars into the center and begin pasteurizing*.
I go 12 hours and it works great. Used to do 1.5 and it never worked.

OK got some supplies. B+ on it's way , 2 shoe box tubs, 2 spray bottles, %70 , wipes, and gloves. Uncle Bens to start with. Use the uncle bens as a PF puck. Excited to experiment and get it figured out. Kind of Cold in PNW lately.

They looked like where I used to live in SW Washington.
I think my mother and some relatives also stole a really good house and a bunch of land from me out there too.
It's a long story but I miss it out there, and there are plenty of delicious wild edibles out there too.

Amazing results! Would you say that blacking out the bottom would make less pins on the bottom and more fruit on top?
With very vigorous cultures like these, sidepins are inevitable, but not a problem as they generally do not go past being pins and also do not need to be harvested, the mycelium will reclaim them. They are determined also more by surface conditions rather than light.

Hi Mycophilia - is there a rule on the air to substrate ratio in a shoe box? My tub is about 8 gallons. Which is quite large. And I’m only using about 1/3 or Maybe even 1/4 of the tub.

Is there a place where you can find out where which genetics like certain substrates?
No but it’s very simple, for coir lovers (aka the species first discovered by science in Cuba) will all grow perfectly well in a pure coir substrate. The species in this video, no. It needs poo, but if you are asking this question you should not worry about this species just yet.
Hi I have a question I talked with you on flvorlabdabs about what should I start out with when I’m just starting out. Anyway my question is will methadone block /decrease the trip when you take mixhshrooms or Lucy ?

The title made me think that you actually went in to detail on your procees for fruiting this species in a unmodified shoebox. is there anywhere i could find a more complete description of what you are doing. I have had a shobox of poo lovers going for 8 days and still no pins,. Any information would be appreciated.

It can, but they’re tougher to fruit than BVI, especially in shoeboxes.

So I have some Mexican coir lovers and the whole top of the myc is bruising except along the edge which is where the only pins have come from. I'm thinking its not enough initial substrate moisture and too much airflow. Would this cause it to bruise? I'm nearly certain it isn't contam
100% too dry, you need to give it a good misting/dunk/bottom watering etc… just needs water

Hoffman's cow manure!! it's super clean organic manure,pick the few wood chips out as you go ...as you know wood chips are anti fungal...
Hi Sage do you have a video or would you share your recipe for substrate for TTBVI?
I’ll be making a series in the near future for the whole process, but my sub recipe is super simple. Anywhere from 1/4 qt to 1qt of spawn to 1qt manure and a big handful and a half of coco coir per box.

Next flush take the cake and balance it on its side inside the tub. Prop it up with chopsticks or whatever so you only have 1 side touching the tub. ;O)

When you say "This is Multi spore" what does that mean? Does that mean you used a spore syringe instead of LC?
Means either a MSS ( multispore syringe), or a MS (multispore) agar plate

How often do you mist. the reason I ask is I’ve got what looks like 1000’s of side pins all around the sides in a 15 quart container. I know when the cake dries some it shrinks and the sides are a perfect micro climate well yea deff is cause I’ve got what looks like 1000’s of side pins

Where is everyone getting their poo from? I don't know if I should be hitting up my local stable for some poo. Which strain is best for poo? For grass?
Some people use black kow and others use compost manure. You can usually find it at places like Lowe's, Home Depot, and your local garden center.

Yep what Roland said, they should essentially smell like dirt when you buy it from places like that (means they’re aged, which is a good thing). You’ll just have to pasteurize it, then they’ll be good to go

Sage, I think I got cobweb mold in my first attempt. Not positive, but it did resemble it. I sprayed hydrogen peroxide on it and not positive if it even dissolved the suspected mold. Mold or not, are my mycelium safe? They’ve been converting to primordia. No pins yet.
Cobweb mold is very distinct. Mycelium, especially pan mycelium can sometimes resemble cobweb mold to the untrained eye, but cobweb mold is also very distinct and completely different. Pics would help, maybe you can try posting some on the discord if you’d like us to take a look.

What I don’t understand is how you can’t show fruits but there are tons of videos on CZcams showing fruits and picking them to dry. It’s just not fair for CZcams to hassle you when others break the rules even worse. I love your channel and your awesome dude!
Thank you Devon. After my last encounter, I’am now very very careful about fruits on here. As you say, some are fine, whereas others will get taken down for not even fruits, just talking about something (as I had happen to one of my old species talk video). I was just hiking and talking about the history of a mushroom, and it got taken down under the reasoning that I was telling people how to produce narcotics. Wtf 😂
