  • Joe Paterno passed Bear Bryant to become the winningest coach in college football history, notching his 324th victory with a dramatic comeback. Trailing 27-9 midway through the 3rd-qtr, Zack Mills hurdled a defender and raced 69-yards to the endzone (4:11-mark). After an Ohio State turnover, Mills remained on fire tossing a 26-yard TD to Tony Johnson (5:16-mark) and then lofted a beautiful pass to Eric McCoo (6:58-mark) as Penn State took a 2-point lead on their 3rd consective touchdowns. With Ohio State driving late, Jimmy Kennedy blocked a potential game-winning FG (8:41-mark) to preserve the JoePa's historic victory.
    The star of the game was redshirt freshman quarterback Zack Mills. After his late-game heroics the previous week in Evanston ( • Penn St at #20 Northwe... ), Mills entered the game on Penn State's 2nd possession and went on to set a school record with 418 yards of total offense (17-32-280-3-2 passing, 15-138-1 rushing).
